Zorath unleashed Demonic Onslaught, a barrage of hundreds of shadowy demons that swarmed over the archers, clawing and biting at their flesh.
Aurelio gritted his teeth and shot his "Blazing Phoenix Arrow," unleashing a powerful flame that engulfed the swarm of demons, turning them into ashes.
Valtor's Shadow Prison ensnared Rueben, trapping him in a cage of inky blackness that seemed to sap his very will to fight.
Rueben used his "Galeforce Arrow" to create a gust of wind that pushed the demons away, giving him enough space to break free from Valtor's "Shadow Prison" technique.
Just as the two thought they had caught a break, Sylphida unleashed her "Cyclone Fury" attack, which sent Aurelio flying like a rag doll. However, he quickly regained his composure and shot his "Thunderous Hammer Arrow," a lightning-infused projectile that shattered the cyclone and sent Sylphida reeling back.
The demon kings were taken aback by the archers' swift and precise counterattacks. The battle continued, each side using their strongest attacks, neither giving an inch. The sky turned dark as the sun set, and the moon rose high into the sky. The sounds of battle echoed through the hill as the archers and demon kings clashed.
The three Demon Kings, Zorath, Sylphida, and Valtor, soon realized they couldn't defeat Aurelio and Rueben with their attacks alone. They needed to come up with a new strategy to win the battle. After observing the situation for a few moments, they decided to attack the barrier around the captured humans.
With a sudden burst of power, Zorath unleashed a barrage of black fireballs that rained down on the barrier. Sylphida summoned a massive tornado that battered the barrier with powerful winds, while Valtor conjured a dark sphere that exploded on impact, cracking the barrier in several places.
As the demon kings closed in on the human captives, they unleashed a flurry of powerful attacks, each designed to shatter the barriers protecting the humans. Zorath called forth his Shadowstorm technique, summoning a swirling vortex of darkness that battered against the barrier. Valtor unleashed his Abyssal Torrent, a massive surge of black energy that crackled with dark power. Sylphida chanted an ancient incantation, summoning a raging tempest of wind and lightning that tore at the edges of the barrier.
Aurelio and Rueben quickly worked together to erect new barriers around the humans, but the demon kings were relentless. With a final surge of power, they shattered the barriers and closed in on the helpless captives.
Aurelio sprang into action, charging forward to intercept the demon kings. He deftly avoided Zorath's Shadow Strike, but was caught off guard by Valtor's Dark Hand, which wrapped around his throat, choking off his air supply.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtDespite the pressure, Aurelio managed to channel his own power, summoning a wave of flame energy that forced Valtor to release him.
As Sylphida launched a barrage of razor-sharp winds at him, Aurelio called upon his Divine Spear technique, summoning a shaft of radiant energy that impaled the oncoming winds, scattering them like leaves in the wind. But even as he battled the demon kings, Aurelio knew he couldn't hold them off forever.
Seeing an opening, Rueben took aim with his bow, unleashing a trio of arrows in quick succession. The first was named Thunderbolt, crackling with electricity as it soared towards Sylphida. The second was named Shadow Piercer, a pitch-black arrow that cut through the darkness and aimed straight for Zorath. The third was named Wind Shear, a razor-sharp arrow that cut through the air like a blade and struck at Valtor.
The demon kings were caught off guard by Rueben's sudden assault, and they scrambled to avoid the deadly barrage of arrows. Sylphida dodged the Thunderbolt, but was caught off guard by the Shadow Piercer, which lodged itself deep in her chest. Zorath managed to avoid the Shadow Piercer, but was struck by the Wind Shear, which tore through his wing and sent him tumbling to the ground.
As the Wind Shear narrowly missed Valtor, Aurelio decided to take matter into his hands as he swiftly created a special arrow, the "Heavenly Thunderclap Arrow". This arrow possessed the power of thunder and lightning.
Aurelio drew the bowstring back, his eyes focused on Valtor as he let the arrow fly. The Heavenly Thunderclap Arrow surged forward, leaving a trail of crackling energy behind it as it hurtled towards its target.
Valtor tried to move out of the way, but it was too late. The arrow struck Valtor directly in the chest, causing a thunderous explosion. The blast knocked Valtor off his feet and sent him flying backwards, crashing into a nearby tree.
Aurelio quickly turned back and gazed at the area around the human captives. He launched a flurry of arrows, each one imbued with pure flame energy, creating a powerful three-layered barrier around the human captives.
The first arrow Aurelio used to construct the outermost layer of the barrier was called "Blazing Phoenix Wing," which created a fiery wall around the captives. The second arrow was called "Heavenly Fire Bloom," which added an additional layer of intense flames to the barrier. The final arrow used to create the innermost layer was named "Eternal Flame Enchantment," which sealed the captives within a powerful, unbreakable inferno.
He then turned to Rueben and spoke firmly, "This is it. We'll end it now with our strongest arrows. Are you ready, Rueben?"
Rueben nodded, his eyes fierce as he readied his bow. "Let's do this, Aurelio."
Aurelio took a deep breath and pulled out his strongest arrow, the Divine Inferno Arrow, from his quiver. The arrow glowed with an intense golden light as it was imbued with his own Flame energy, radiating with immense power.
Meanwhile, Rueben drew his own bow and pulled back his strongest arrow, the Celestial Storm Arrow. The arrow was surrounded by a vortex of lightning, crackling with powerful energy that threatened to tear apart the very air around it.
With a deep breath, Aurelio drew back his bowstring and let the arrow fly. It streaked through the air like a comet, leaving a trail of blazing flames in its wake. At the same time, Rueben released his arrow, and it shot through the sky like a bolt of lightning.
The two arrows collided in mid-air with a deafening explosion, sending shockwaves rippling through the ground. Flames and lightning clashed, their energies spiraling out of control as they fought for dominance.
Aurelio and Rueben watched in awe as the explosion grew, engulfing the entire battlefield in a blinding light. When it finally subsided, the demon kings lay dead, their twisted forms charred and lifeless. The altar that had been the source of their power lay shattered and broken.
The humans, safe behind Aurelio's barrier, watched in wonder as the archers emerged from the smoke and debris, victorious. Aurelio and Rueben shared a smile of triumph before turning to the people.
Aurelio collapsed on the ground, his body battered and bruised from the intense battle. Rueben rushed over to his friend's side, concern etched on his face.
"Aurelio, are you okay?" Rueben asked, helping him up.
"I'll be fine," Aurelio replied weakly. "I just need a moment to catch my breath."
Rueben internally marveled at Aurelio's tenacity. He was so battered and injured, but he still managed to fight at his peak and maintain his consciousness at this moment. He was sure he couldn't have accomplished the same.
You were incredible out there," Rueben said, admiration in his voice.
Aurelio smiled weakly. "I couldn't have done it without you. We make a good team."
Rueben helped Aurelio up and they walked towards the human captives that were still protected by Aurelio's barrier.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmAurelio utilized his Ardor and dispersed the barrier. Behind that barrier were hundreds of humans who noticed the destruction that had occurred in the entire battlefield.
All the demons weaker than Demon King Rank were slaughtered as they were caught in between this explosive battle.
The humans finally got a clear look at the archers who had saved their lives. They recognized Rueben as the famous archer who had recently killed five demon kings alone and they started cheering his name.
"Rueben! Rueben! Rueben!" they chanted, their voices echoing throughout the forest.
As the captive humans begin to cheer for Rueben's name, he quickly raises his hands and motions for them to quiet down. When they become silent, he addresses them with a serious expression.
"Listen to me, my fellow brothers," Rueben begins. "I know that you are grateful to me for what I have done, but I must tell you that the true hero of this battle is Aurelio."
Some of the humans look confused and others start to murmur among themselves. Rueben continues to speak in a loud and clear voice.
"He was the one who erected the barriers that kept you safe from harm. He was the one who took the brunt of the demon kings' attacks to protect you. Yet despite those injuries, he continued to fight valiantly and helped me kill those demons."
As Rueben speaks, the humans begin to understand the gravity of Aurelio's actions. Some of them even start to applaud and cheer for Aurelio's name, calling out their thanks to him. Others turn to look at Aurelio with new respect and admiration.
Rueben, satisfied that he has made his point, nods his head in agreement with the humans.
Rueben turned to face Aurelio, who was sitting with his back against a nearby rock, breathing heavily. The captive humans were cheering his name loudly, making him a bit embarrassed.
Rueben smiled at Aurelio and said, "As I said earlier, you are the hero of this battle."
Aurelio looked slightly embarrassed at the praise and said, "I only did what was necessary to protect them."
"Necessary or not, you still risked your life to save others," Rueben said. "That's a true hero in my book. And it doesn't matter which nation you belong to. Credit must be given where it's due."
Aurelio looked up at Rueben, a small smile on his lips. "Thank you. It means a lot coming from you."
