Chapter 108 Dearest Companion, it is good to write to you again. A lot has been going on in our beloved Pack and I wish to keep you up to date but Angela and Darius keep popping up on our screens with their stories.

Author's POV The memorial for Brittany took place at the Alpha's mansion with a lot of her old and new friends angry, sad, and perplexed about her death. Meanwhile, someone on the other side of the pack was faced with her life's dilemma. One of our pack's doctors, the one most popular to this story, Doctor Halle met her destined mate two moons ago even though she was involved in a rendezvous relationship with Charles, the pack's former Beta. Meeting one's destined mate as a werewolf is considered a blessing but Halle believed the moon goddess must've hated her so much to pair her with an unattractive mate who is also one of the pack's warriors.

Halle always had this fantasy as a child of being mated to an Alpha or a Beta or better yet, someone from the lineage of the werewolf king. When she found her mate, she wasn't just disappointed, she was angry and of course, cursed out at the moon goddess.

Still, she knew better than to reject him.

Two hours before the memorial, her mate, Jude, a 6ft6in male, muscled and brilliant went in search of Halle to her house. He wanted to talk about their relationship and how she kept on avoiding him every tthey met.

At the first knock on the door, Halle flung the door open from inside. She was sad about the death of Brittany but she becdepressed as soon as she saw Jude standing outside her door.

"What do you want?" She spat.

Jude, a gentleman he was, asked. "Can I at least cin?" "No! You have no right to walk to my door and demand forto let you in,” He shook his head. His voice softened at the sight of his mate. "I didn't command. 1 requested, Halle," Jude wanted nothing more than to hold his mate in his arms. He wanted nothing more than to look into her eyes and tell her how much he'd waited for her. How much he'd longed for her, to be with her. He wanted to tell her how bad the last two months had been. His voice was so soft Halle couldn't resist opening her door for him. He walked in and took in her scent. It was the most delicious scent and he could swear he tasted it on his tongue.

"What else, Halle?" He asked. She shrugged. "Us!" "There's no us, Jude. Fine, we're destined mates but we don't have to accept the matebond. Just ignore it and move on. I'm already doing that, it's not as hard as it seems,' low do you move on knowing the other part of your heart is just a step away from you? How am I supposed to look at you and feel nothing?" Halle was speechless. She couldn't keep her eyes off him. Her eyes cascaded to his lips and she swallowed hard. She quickly shook her head, pushed the feeling away, and assumed it was the stupid mate bond.

"I don't want to have anything to do with you," she responded.

Her voice wasn't as harsh as it was before.

"I want to have everything to do with you, Halle. You're my soul in a human form. I've waited for you all my life. I won't turn away now that I've found you. Just givea chance to prove to you how much I want this. How much I want us," His words were beginning to creep into her heart little by little. She was moved by his little speech but it didn't change anything.

"That's beautiful," he suddenly complimented before she could give him an answer.

"What?" "The flower in your hair," he pointed.

She rushed to the small mirror on the wall and saw a prikox sunflower tucked behind her ear whatsny Jade appeared behind her in the mirror with a tiny smile on his face. Halle med. Halle turned and pushed at his chest but stopped when she felt his hard abs against her delicate fingers.

"It suits you, Halle looked up at him to see he was smiling at her again. She was being bombarded by the affection she wasn't used to. She and Charles haven't labeled their relationship so he never spoke to her that way. She wanted more with Charles but she was sure she would never get anything beyond the stupid activities in bed.

Halle decided to take a step she felt was stupid. She would regret it later but for now, the would enjoy it. Halle stood on her toes and kissed him.

Jude was shocked. He wasn't expecting that when he decided to csee her. The death of Brittany was what made him come. He was scared of losing Halle. The thought of her dying killed him.

Before Halle could remove her lips from his, Jude grabbed her waist and pulled her even doser to his body. He deepened their kiss and tasted heaven, Halle hadn't expected him to kiss her back because of how mean she had acted towards him these past two months. When he kissed her back so feverishly, she felt her toes curl and a wetness pooled at her feminine spot.

She found herself murmuring against his lips when he ran his hands across her back. His touch was enchanting and his kisses, entrapping. She was enthralled by him.

It took Halle a few seconds to open her eyes and see who the intruder was. She caught a glimpse of Charles before he went after Jude to punch him.

As she watched both men struggle on the floor, Halle screamed. Her screams got the attention of two ms got other people who'd accompanied Charles to her place: Stanley and Azalea. "What the fuck?" Stanley cursed as he pulled Jude away from Charles before Jude would kill their acting Beta.

"You have no right to touch my woman," Charles screamed.

"Your woman, my foot," Jude spat. "Should I tell him or would you do the honors?" Jude asked Halle.

Halle was more than embarrassed to be in such a position. She was, m mortified. "Don't tellyou're fueking this asshole as well, Halle," Charles asked, yelling at her.

Jude managed to set himself free from Stanley and went after Charles. his collar and said "Don't He grabbed his colla you fucking raise your voice at her or I swear, I'll pull your trachea out of your throat," Before Charles could hit him, Stanley pulled Jude away from him, putting a reasonable distance between the two angry men.

Azalea leaned against the wall and watched Halle with interest. He had a huge smirk on his face.

"Wow! How nice must it be for you to have two men dying to kill each other for your sake?" Halle could read between the lines. She wasn't stupid. He was mocking her, calling her a sl*t indirectly.

She didn't want to react to his words but then Stanley snickered. These two men had no right to look down on her, especially with what she knew.

"At least, I'm not f*cking a woman twenty years older than me," She replied with a smirk while looking between both Stanley and Azalea.
