Reese and Cole were both taken aback and turned to look at Magnus.
For a moment, the atmosphere was awkward and uncomfortable.
Magnus's expression becrigid. With Elena making a noise in the bathroom, he had a headache. He thought,
can't she control herself for a little while?
Cole looked at Magnus with a knowing look and said, "Mr. Xavier, is there someone else in the bathroom?"
Magnus looked embarrassed and forced a smile. "It's just a little rendezvous. They don't like being seen."
Cole chuckled, a hint of irony in his tone. "Oh, is that so?"
Magnus's gaze turned cold. "What else could Director Hopkins possibly think? | was just keeping someone
company. It didn't interfere with your business."
Cole's expression hardened. "Of course, it didn't. | was simply curious. No need to be so tense."
He couldn't do anything to Magnus now, but that didn't mean he couldn't find a way to get back at him
eventually. Remembering what Magnus had done to Reese, Cole decided to put revenge on hold.
After Cole finished speaking, he left with Reese.
As they reached the ward's entrance, Reese stopped abruptly, glanced at Magnus
on the hospital bed, and said in an enigmatic tone, "Mr. Xavier, if you wander around at night, you might just
encounter a ghost."
With that, she left with Cole.
Magnus's face twisted in anger. He had never been humiliated like this before.
Only after he heard their footsteps fade did he mutter, "Elena, you can cout now."
Elena's face was red as she slowly emerged from the bathroom.

Seeing Elena's appearance, Magnus wanted to scold her. "Couldn't you have held it in?"
Elena's face was a mix of embarrassment and anger. "I tried my best, but I've already tried my best. Sthings
can't be helped."
Magnus seethed with frustration. His face contorted. "You were hiding in there to avoid being seen entering my
ward. Now figure out how to leave without being spotted. Cole and Reese might have someone watching
outside."
Elena's expression kept changing, and she finally said, "If you want my help, you'll have to keep my identity
hidden while | leave. If Elias and Lukas find out | met you, it won't end well for either of us. Remember, we're in
this together."
Magnus clenched his teeth in anger. How did he end up relying on someone so foolish?
Meanwhile, Reese and Cole headed downstairs. Cole asked, "Reese, should we inform Mr. Strakovski about this
Magnus situation?"
Reese responded calmly, "No need. The contract is already canceled."
Cole's eyes gleamed. "Should we consider keeping an eye on Magnus? Even though the contract is terminated, |
can't shake the feeling that his motives weren't pure. And I'm curious about the person hiding in the bathroom
just now."
Reese pursed her lips. "Director, don't get involved any further. Let's leave it here."
Reese walked toward the parking lot.
Cole bit his lip, refraining from saying more.
Reese's eyes narrowed. Magnus nearly ruined everything last night, and she wasn't about to let it slide. Yet, she
didn't want Cole to be dragged into this mess. She wanted to end the contract quickly and discreetly, so Lukas
wouldn't find out. After all, Lukas disliked unnecessary trouble.
Reese intended to resolve this on her own.
She would seek her own revenge.
However, she wasn't foolish enough to throw caution to the wind.
Lukas had the power to easily deal with the Rhodes family, but she didn't possess that capability. She also didn't
want to overestimate Lukas's assistance. Lukas helped her momentarily, but that didn't mean she was a priority
to him.
Reese desired revenge, but she knew she needed patience. She had to wait for the right opportunity.
After all, revenge is best served cold.
Reese had initially thought about having dinner to give Ava and Cole salone tand create an opportunity
for them. So, she took this moment to leave.
Toward the end of the day, Cole messaged the small group of three.
Cole: Ava, Reese, | can't join you for dinner tonight.
Reese: Is there someone else, Director?
Ava saw the message but remained silent.
Lately, Chloe and Cole had grown closer. Reese had begun to feel a twinge of anxiety for herself, and Ava was
well aware of the situation.
However, she couldn't confess her feelings for Cole right now. Back in college, she had harbored a crush for three
years before finally mustering the courage to confess. To her surprise, Cole disappeared from her life.
Feelings of this sort grew heavier with time, making them more difficult to express.
Cole: There's an evening party. Sprominent figures from the jewelry industry will be there. Mr. Strakovski
wantsto attend and make connections.

Cole was puzzled by Lukas's sudden invitation to the party, especially with the permission to bring friends.
Cole: You can bring friends to the party... Reese, are you planning to go? If not, | might bring Chloe.
Reese clenched her phone. She couldn't let Cole and Chloe be alone. Reese: I'll go then.
She was determined to ensure Cole didn't get too close to Chloe.
Reese: Weren't you planning to bring a few friends? Ava already made plans for
us tonight. If we go to the party, she'll be left hanging. Can we go together?
Cole: Letcheck first. I'll let you know later.
Reese didn't wait long before Cole's response cthrough.
Cole: Let's go together after work. The three of us. It's a private party, and you can bring friends if you want. I'll
give them the headcount in advance.
Reese: Okay, then the three of us will head there after work.
Ava remained silent throughout, but Reese was sure she had seen the messages.
Because it was a private party, there was no specific dress code.
After work, the three of them headed straight to the party location.
The venue was a villa on View Road in Switzerland, a location frequently used for private gatherings.
As Reese arrived, she noticed a beautiful woman who had just entered the villa. Reese furrowed her brows,
feeling uncertain about the nature of this party. She recognized the woman as a popular intecelebrity.
The woman entered the villa before Reese and her friends could even step out of the car.
Just as they were about to approach the villa, Reese heard a teasing voice not far away, "Reese, what a
coincidence that we're meeting again."
