After waking up, and doing the usual necessities, I summoned shadows to pull the cart for me, and went hunting. My focus this time thought was not yet another bear, but rather the location of their lair. There just had to be one somewhere.
The only problem was, I actually had no idea where. If I was to shoot my shot I would say it somewhere in the middle of the territory, but I didn't even know in what part of it I am, so there was no way of me deducing where to go. I was forced to roam around and count on my luck.
A day passed and I didn't find anything, only more bears. Fifteen to be precise. They all died by my hand, literally, as I had to break their skulls with my poor fists, and their crystals ended with the rest on the cart.
That was the whole day, with few breaks for food, and constant focus on my breathing, to keep up with the Ki.
The next day was a bit better because I finally found that damn lair. There was a pail of boulders and a hole, gradually descending underground at an angle. Several bears hanging around it. Quick glance and I counted twenty, so there probably was even more. I would probably be happier, but my night was terrible.
I got woked up three times because of my barriers breaking.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtWith my mood shifted for the better, I started heading back, in a more or less right direction. I pushed myself a lot, making it harder for shadows to keep up, but they didn't get tired at all. They were just slow compared to me, and the cart was not helping.
Bears did though. Stopping me from time to time, and forcing to fight. Well... My greed was actually behind that. How could I possibly leave even a single pricy crystal just like that? That was not happening.
Around the dusk I noticed the change in scenery, indicating that I'm getting closer and closer to the wolf territory. I could stop there,m and camp for the night, but instead, I kept pushing, even when night covered the forest in darkness. I just lit up a couple of torches, gave them to shadows to carry, and light up the path.
I wanted to get as far as I could. Possibly even go all night, and reach the city by morning. Blue could already be on the move, as those past few days just passed in a blink of an eye.
I already had a bit of an obsession, but how could I not get one with all the things he did? It was annoying to always be anticipating his move, and not focusing on the things I wanted to focus on. Getting stronger, discovering the secrets of this place, my relationship with Nadia. There was so much I wanted to du, but couldn't, because right now I was the only one who could probably deal with his army of werewolves.
It pissed me off, and I started to walk even faster, making the shadows jog in front of me, while those pulling the cart, started to slowly get further and further behind. I only noticed when they got so far I couldn't see them. I went back, and discovered they still were walking, even with all this distance between us.
It was indicating that maybe I just could leave them alone, and they would eventually do their job, and bring me the cart. Then I thought that it's a bad idea since there might be some wolves around.
This scenario confirmed not too long after, as I encountered a few. I dealt with them swiftly, finally being able to use the created weapons.
In the beginning, it was just a bunch of leftovers from the hunt, but as the night progressed more appeared, slowing me down quite a lot. I didn't pick those crystals, because it could turn into quite an affair, especially right with the most recent events.
As I was leaving the hunting grounds, I noticed a group of hunters approaching. Led by Blue and Stephen Williams.
- Morning - said Blue. - How did your exploration go?
- Good.
- Care to elaborate? - asked Williams, rising an eyebrow.
I just smiled at him. Blue, on the other hand, sighed heavily.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm- I hope the information gets to us eventually after you consult with your people - Blue continued.
Stephen gave him a long look but didn't say a thing. I just nodded, and resumed my walking, changing path a bit, to pass by them.
- Hope you will have a good day! - Blue shouted.
- You too... - I mumbled ironically and just snorted.
He was really trying. Really pushing. Amit's theory could be right. Maybe he really just wanted to go back, but I wasn't willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.
A few hours later I finally reached the city center. It was pretty empty as most people already departed to hunt. I swung by the device to check the prices of new types of crystals. Lizard ones were 1200 points, and bear ones were 2500.
Now I knew exactly where I'm going to be hunting from now on. I sold the score for 236 300 points, and immediately bought ten brand new pudaos, and threw them on the cart.
Then I went to Hatta, to tell him everything I managed to find out. He wanted to talk more, but since I was tired, he backed down and asked me to visit him the next morning.
After that was done, I looked for Nadia and managed to find her in her room. She was happy to see me, and I was even happier. Her new dress was already finished, and she picked it up. I was very eager to see her in it, so she tried it on just for me. Seeing her naked, as she was changing clothes, lead to me spending the night with her...
The day came to an end with 3 257 721 points remaining on my account.
