What happened after that was a long few hours of moving from one address to another, finding the right people, and getting rid of them most of the time. Sometimes, though, I would drop a person in Loistavadvaar, to make sure Varo, or any other one of them, wouldn't try to lie to me. I needed to cross-examine them.
I made the pentagon quite busy and, probably, quite frustrated, with all my hypersonic jogging around. Flying was just too slow to move such vast distances. I encountered some of their fighter jets on my way, but those were too slow for me, so I'm quite sure they didn't know what I even was.
Like that, I finally landed in Mexico. In the middle of nowhere, not too far from Mexico City, was this large mansion surrounded by a tall concrete wall with barbwire on top. The gate had armed guards sitting in the guardhouse. It wasn't too big, but enough for people inside to have the minimum of entertainment, plus a roof over their heads and a place to eat. So I guess you could say it was more or less the size of a regular room.
Flying above it as a crow, to first do a little bit of reconnaissance, allowed me to notice several cameras. Also a complex of few buildings surrounded by the vast amount of land inside that fence. In the middle was the previously mentioned mansion. It was massive. Had everything you could possibly want to have. The garage was filled with expensive cars, and sexy models were walking around that place like ants are walking around their nest.
I kinda hoped they were used to seeing violence, blood, and the rest of that kind of stuff because they were about to experience some soon enough.
Not wanting to lose too much time, I spent some more time observing, looking for my target, but the hour was late, and the sunlight was getting dimmer and dimmer. Fortunately for me, I noticed a guy in white short pants, wearing a Hawaiian shirt. He sat by the pool with a drink served by a waiter who worked behind a freaking bar he had there.
It was enough of a peculiar view for me to keep an eye on, so I landed close enough to monitor him. Soon I had my confirmation that it was enough of an important figure to be giving orders, as some came to him asking for those.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtI couldn't hear anything because of the distance, and music, but it definitely looked this way. When they left, I began moving. I flew closer, then landed in a dark corner, then approached him.
From a closer distance, I had a better look. the guy wasn't tall t all. He had a rather good hairline of salt and pepper hair, with a very nice mustache. The sunglasses prevented me from seeing his eyes, but he definitely didn't notice me at first.
The waiter did, though, but it was too late.
- Guzmán, Diego Guzmán, also known as Don Diego? - I asked.
The guy almost jumped in his sunbed. From the corner of my eye, I also noticed the suspicious moves of the waiter.
- Who the fuck are you?! - he asked with a heavy accent.
- I'm Peter. Are you Don Diego, or not? - I repeated my question.
Instead of a clear answer from the guy, I heard multiple footsteps of people rushing towards the pool from, I believe, every corner of the mansion. It made me sigh heavily. What happened next, was just pure carnage. Those with guns or those whom I deemed as parts of the cartel, were executed swiftly across the whole property.
With the assortment of my abilities, it was easy. Too easy. Not even a single gunshot could be heard, just the screams of freaked-out models.
I finished by leaving the body parts arranged in a sentence, by the decapitated corpse of the boss. "DONT FUCK WITH MY FAMILY" - said the sentence. Then I cleaned myself up, and shadow walked back to the rented house.
Inside I found Celestine, Tihana, and the two kidnaped kids accompanied by two agents.
- I'm back - I threw at them.
- Where have you been so long? - asked the brunette.
- Busy... Who are those guys? - I asked pointing at the agents, who were already walking towards me.
- Agent Burton and Agent Ferguson - informed me a tall, bald guy with sunglasses and a suit on. - We would like to ask a few questions.
- I'm tired today, so get the fuck out of my house. We can talk later - I said to them.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm- I don't think you understand... - started the other one.
He was a shorter guy with dark hair. Good looking, and was very confident in how he presented himself. He didn't have sunglasses like his partner.
- You don't want to piss me off - I informed him, butting in his sentence. - My family was kidnapped today, so my temper is quite short. I bet your friends from the agency told you how I look when I'm angry, so ask yourselves... Do you really want to see that? Do you really want to be the focus of that anger?
My words made them stop.
- We will come tomorrow - said the bald one.
He then glanced at his partner, and they left. The rest of the people waited in silence. Before they could swarm me with questions, and I could swarm them back, I said:
- I'm very tired, so I'm gonna go to bed now. You clearly have questions, and I clearly have mine - I pointed at the two new kids. - So there is a lot to discuss, but it can wait for tomorrow. Ok? Tomorrow during breakfast? Does it sound good?
- Sure - said Tihana, and she crossed her arms on her chest.
Then I looked at Celestine, to get the confirmation.
She nodded after a short moment of hesitation. I didn't wait for anything else, just went to my bed. On that night, I wasn't joined by my girlfriend,w which only filled my head with thoughts, preventing me from taking a full night's rest. I didn't really need one, though.
An hour was more than enough.
