Mister samurai didn't do any follow-up, as he was also out of gas. Panting heavily, he did his best to utilize the short pause in the fight to regenerate his strength, while my daughter had to regain control over her senses.
She shook her head after a moment, clearly getting rid of the confusion, and immediately began approaching her opponent once again.
Satoshi Tanaka's response wasn't ready to spot. You needed a lot of knowledge to be able to notice, since the equipment in the arena wasn't picking on the quiet noise, rather focusing on what was loud because of space that needed to be covered, and the loud audience. People like me or Will would notice, but everybody else? I doubt it.
His chest was moving slightly like he was doing something with his breath, which combined with slight moves of his nostrils made me believe he was humming a melody. His katanas responded to it by vibrating ever so slightly, which also wasn't easy to spot.
- Interesting - left my mouth.
The members of my family looked at me.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt- What? - Leonel asked since I didn't explain on my own.
- Nothing - I responded making everybody annoyed.
But because I didn't say it when asked, they didn't dig any deeper, and only got more worried.
Tihana covered a bit of the ground, probably preparing for a shadow walk to attack when Satoshi Tanaka started swinging his blades in the air. They were cutting nothing. It looked more like some kind of performance than an actual attack, but the speed was increasing, so the swords, and the hands holding them, quickly finished, leaving only the blurred, distorted afterimage, which gave out this impression of him not having them at all.
Just as I predicted, my daughter appeared on his side, ducking low, with the shield over her head, and ready to slash from below, but as soon as she entered his domain, she was pushed back by a seemingly invisible force, that caused a burst of sparks from her shield.
Those were his katanas, moving at very high speed, to the point that I had problems tracking them.
Obviously, I could do something like that even faster than him, but tracking the moves was a completely different thing. In a normal fight, you relied more on your instincts, carrying you during the fight, than on a single sense, like your vision, which simply didn't work through a TV screen.
Tihana immediately changed angle appearing on the other side, midair, and thrusting her scimitar, but it got pushed back with a force that almost made her lose the group on her weapon.
She panicked, and shadow walked the hell out of the opponent, landing on the sand a few meters away. All that effort, just so he could appear in front of her with a few quick steps, forcing her to block with the shield in a fraction of a second, before continuing her retreat via shadow walk.
Despite trying very hard to follow, Satoshi Tanaka couldn't match the skill I used to rely on so heavily. Tihana escaped him, and he stopped his weird swinging.
- She is not going to win like this - Leonel said. - She needs to use her other skills, otherwise, he is going to corner her. Normal attacks aren't working.
- If you think he showed everything he can do, then you are wrong. She is trying to squeeze as much as she can from him, before showing her cards, so she can use them better - I told him. - They both are playing the same game. I bet this would look a little bit different if John would lose his fight. Now they got cautious.
- She knows what she is doing - John stated.
I glanced at him briefly. He seemed confident in his girlfriend. I, unfortunately, couldn't say the same about myself. I was worried, because they showed the same approach, and yet my daughter was the one forced to retreat.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmShe needed to do something, otherwise, she couldn't win. It was up to her to make a move.
She put away the shield and the scimitar back to the armory while pulling out a bow. The one I made for her because she wouldn't stop nagging that she wants one.
It was not that fancy, but still, a special item, as it was able to produce its own arrows.
She grabbed the bowstring, pulling it back and taking aim, and a flash of light materialized as an arrow, which she then released. It was fast, but the projectile got deflected by Satoshi Tanaka with a single swing.
I shook my head. There was no way this could work. Not with his speed and skills.
It was a desperate attempt on her side, and she quickly reflected on it by putting the weapon back in the armory. Instead, she took out a short metal cane, with a flower pattern on the top part of it. Another creation of mine.
- Time to start the real fight - Leonel said when he saw that.
I didn't respond, but my family members smiled after his comment. My reaction was due to the fact, that I still wasn't sure if she would be able to pull off what she clearly wanted to do. She went on the move, swinging the cane, and making a big circle around her opponent. Preparation for her next attack.
Satoshi Tanaka clearly could feel that something was going on, because he observed her carefully, while steadily moving away from her. I noticed that his lips were moving, but there was no way to catch exactly what he was saying.
If I were to bet, I would say he was casting some kind of spell, or, perhaps using some type of sound-based skill, since he already showed a few.
My daughter accelerated her speed, adding shadow walking tot he mix to move even faster and to change directions, seemingly at random. In a few seconds, she covered the whole arena. It looked like she was fishing for the right angle to attack.
