It was a fraction of a second, but I knew it would happen just when I noticed them, so I shadow walked away, barely making it before the swordsman arrived at my spot, swinging widely. The other two needed a little bit more. The one with the rod send a beam of white energy to my new position but I avoided it, so the laser hit the wall behind me. It didn't even leave a mark despite being strong enough to melt almost anything I could think of.
I decided to clash with them because avoiding was pointless, so I charged, just to get my movement stopped by the one who had no weapon. He was a powerful psionic. Probably on par with The Great One, so he slowed me down significantly.
I fought with him using my own 'Telekinesis', so his grasp wasn't affecting me as much, but I was still not at my best. Then the swordsman arrived again, swinging at me. I blocked his blade with mine.
He swiftly changed the grip, kicked me, and in a very fluid motion attacked again. His skills were incredible, but so were mine. I blocked again. Which started a long exchange.
The image seemed to be waiting for an opportunity to hit me with a spell, while the psionic kept the pressure, which allowed the warrior to fight me on equal terms. It was obvious that getting any distance between us would only allow the third one to join, so I stayed close, exchanging blows.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtThe spell caster clearly came to the conclusion that doing nothing wasn't the best idea, so he changed his approach. He started using some magic. Curses, to be precise. They hit me, siphoning my life energy, which got severely suppressed thanks to the new 'Legendary Dreadnought' skills, but it was enough for the swordsman to start gaining an advantage.
I had to diversify because otherwise I was done for.
I summoned all the golems I had in my vault. They immediately jumped to action going all at one target, the psionic. He had to switch his attention to them, holding them all with his powers, which allowed me to pull him with my 'Telekinesis' closer to my minions. The shadows which I also started summoning.
They crawled on top of the guy, clawing, punching, and kicking.
The mage tried to help using, his ray of energy, but the voidings created enough space for a few golems to leave the grasp of the psionic. Fin was one of them, and with the barriers, and his own body, he somehow prevented the attack from destroying my other toys.
This all gave me enough room to dip into 'Indomitable' to unless a series of powerful attacks, overpowering the swordsman, and eventually cutting him to pieces before he turned to smoke. Then I shadow walked in front of the mage, to cut him down too, and lastly finished the psion.
It was a short, yet brutal exchange. Quick glance at my toys and I knew some o them needed repairs. Especially Fin, since part of his armor, was melted despite his incredible resistance to high temperatures.
- Good job, guys - I told them, before putting them away in my vault.
Then I picked the stones and finally approached the corpse of Yashasvee'mies. There wasn't more to actually see there, but the view grabbed my attention with incredible strength. After all, it was a large piece of my history. Everything that happened to me was because of this guy, who walked the same path as I did.
Despite him being dead, I felt a connection that is hard to describe. He was like a brother who went off the right path, then paid the highest price.
Seeing his remains made me think a lot. I eventually decided to pick up his remains and move them to my vault. He deserved a better place to rest than the middle of that tower.
When I finished, a large weight got just removed from my heart. I felt like I finished a chapter. Not only did I finally see the legendary place with my own eyes, and meet what was left of the king, but I also did gather an incredible amount of crystals, with more still waiting for me outside.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmThere was also a more important part. Perhaps the most important. I finally had the access to the tree growing in Aaraam'soturi, which meant I had access to all the other cities Bahumdabars built.
Not wasting any more time I left the tower, then started looking around. I encountered more ghosts, but they didn't prove to be an obstacle I couldn't deal with. All to find the device, which was supposed to be somewhere there. I didn't really know where exactly, because had no idea in what part of the city I was currently in, but eventually, by roaming around I did notice it.
I immediately got closer.
It was full brown three. Big enough to consume the fruit. Actually even bigger than the one in Petrograd. Unfortunately, there seemed to be a barrier around that damn thing. I toughed it to check if it would let me pass, but my had got blocked.
I punched it, but my fist was not enough. Then I swung my pudao using 'Indomitable', and it still wasn't enough. That's why I started to analyze the nature of that obstacle. It seemed to be of a psionic type, probably generated by the device itself, so there was no way for me to break it. Definitely not at the level I was at back then.
- Fuck - left my mouth.
I'm not gonna lie, it was a frustrating outcome. Very frustrating. I just ended up dropping on my ass, glaring at it before fully lying down. I was mentally exhausted. Furious with the constant outcomes of the 'possibly-the-worst' group.
"Maybe The Great One will have an answer", I thought to myself before getting up to collect the crystals still left around the city.
