A thin wall of energy placed the boys in a corner of the gym. Lee Seng shrugged as he watched the thin energy shimmer like a rainbow.
"How much can this take, again?" Lee Seng asked. "I remember these being used during the team fights back in the entrance exam."
"Mmm, they do seem like those." Ritsuka nodded. Lee Seng stuck his hand through the wall and realized it had the same exact properties as the other energy wall. He pulled his hand back and turned to face Ritsuka. "Ready for more practice?" The boys continued their practice. Ritsuka continued to use more Obsidian Glass X strikes onto Lee Seng while Lee Seng received powerful attacks.
An hour flew by and the boys huffed as the bell rang.
"Alright, have a good weekend everyone! Remember to continue practicing what we've been learning here!" Mr. Icarus shouted. The group of students began to quickly leave the gym.
"I'll wait for you." Lee Seng nodded at Ritsuka. Ritsuka nodded and moved to talk to Mr. Icarus about his exam. Lee Seng popped out of the thin barrier, noticing Garcia was hovering around the door, waiting for him.
"Ah, you didn't have to wait for me. We could've met up afterwards." Lee Seng told him. Garcia shook his head. He walked with Lee Seng into the locker room. The two went to the back where Lee Seng's locker was and Garcia rounded the corner to his locker. Lee Seng punched his locker code in and grabbed his clothes.
"Ey, Garcia, imma shower first." Lee Seng looked over and barely caught Garcia popping his head from behind the locker in the way.
"Okay." Garica answered. Lee Seng grabbed a towel and pulled his boxers off. He folded his dirty clothes together and set them inside and shut the locker door. Showers ran as Lee Seng moved to the back. He turned on one of the showers and waited for the water to warm. He pulled the towel around his waist and hung it on the hook.
Lee Seng showered, quickly and cleaned himself of sweat and dirt. He shampooed his hair and scrubbed his body, rinsing the products off his body.
'You've been practicing well. I'm surprised you didn't want to try anything on Ritsuka. You could've practiced on an actual person versus a bot.' Keng spoke. 'The bots do have a variety of systems and strategies, but you'll eventually get through all of them… Intelligent opponents keep yourself on your toes.'
'Everything I want to practice involves using the fox form. Figuring out how to tie this into my powers is too much work.' Lee Seng responded.
'Your gravity powers are strong. You can make something up.'
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt'Too many eyes. I'm still not sure how much I can trust Ritsuka and the others. I've only known them for about a month.' turned the water off and reached for his towel. His hand doesn't grab anything and he sticks his head out to see his towel is gone.
"Who took my towel?" Lee Seng whispered. He could hear snickers as he moved his head further out of the shower, noticing some guys pulling out of his sight. "Ugh." Lee Seng forces the water off of him with a small push of gravity and moves out of the shower, wrapping the tail around him. Lee Seng starts to grab a towel when a hand shoots out and stops him.
"Lookie, here. The Fox doesn't have any shame?" The tall brunette smiled at him. Lee Seng knew this guy as one of Felix's friends. They had been picking on him ever since Monday and Lee Seng's patience was running thin. Lee Seng snatched a towel with his other hand and quickly pulled his hand out of the brunette's grip.
"What do you want, Kaleb?" Lee Seng started to dry his hair. Kaleb grabbed at the towel, tightening it around Lee Seng's head. Kaleb's wicked smile lowered into a dissatisfied frown.
"Accept the fight and I'll let you go." Kaleb told him. Lee Seng sighed and pulled his head out of the towel and allowed Kaleb to take it. Kaleb's eyes rose, waiting for Lee Seng's answer.
"Your reasoning isn't good enough." Lee Seng told him. "If you want to fight, you can fight me and get in trouble. I'm not gonna waste my time trying to fight you." Lee Seng grabbed another towel and wiped the water off of his body and legs. One of Kaleb's lackeys ran forward. Lee Seng lifted his hand and watched as the lackey froze in place. Lee Seng continued to dry himself off, eventually reaching his hair. He stood there as onlookers watched.
"How are they frozen…?" One of the onlookers questioned. Ritsuka moved through, listening to the commotion and popped out from the crowd.
"Lee Seng, they already told you to not do that." Garcia moved out behind Kaleb. Lee SEng lifted his head and smiled. He wrapped the towel around his waist.
"It's defense. They were bothering me." Lee Seng answered.
"Mr. Icarus said if he caught you doing this again he would punish you." Garcia quietly reminded him. Lee Seng nodded and moved past Kaleb, forcing the frozen young men to unfreeze. The lackey ran forward, quickly coming to a stop as Kaleb turned around.
"You think you're a hotshot because you have a strong ability?" Kaleb pointed at Lee Seng. LEe Seng turned his back to his locker and faced Kaleb, again. "Bet you can't do shit in an actual fight. Your power is probably coursing through your veins so much that you can't even handle an actual fight."
"I think I can handle myself well without my powers, thank you very much." Lee Seng smiled.
"Then let's fight! No powers, all out brawl!" Kaleb shouted. Lee Seng's smile widened.
'Got you.'
"Fine." Lee Seng nodded. "No powers. What else?" Kaleb's lips curled.
'I got him exactly where I want him.' Kaleb thought. He took a step forward. The students were crowding around them, watching the betting match unfold.
"My guys against yours." Kaleb suggested. "No powers. All will fight against each other. If you lose… You have to do what I say."
"Why should I drag people into this fight? No one's gonna wanna fight with me with those odds."
"Weapons are allowed and you can choose the quiet one and the one you sparred with today." Lee Seng glanced at Garcia who was backing away from one of Kaleb's lackeys.
"Enough." Ritsuka shouted. He pushed his way through the crowd and quickly cut off the lackey on Garcia. Lee Seng glanced at Ritsuka and sighed. "I'll help Lee Seng beat you clowns. What about you, Garcia?"
"I-I…"
"Two on two." Lee Seng spoke up. "He doesn't need to get involved."
"Oh? Protecting the pipsqueak here?" Kaleb motioned over at Garcia.
"No," Lee Seng shook his head. He took a step forward towards Kaleb. "Only two of us are needed. If you want, you can have three people. Four if you really want. I don't care."
"That makes it unfair." One of Kaleb's friends spoke.
"Why would you do that?" Kaleb asked. "It's unfair for you and us. Makes us look like thugs."
"Doesn't have to." Ritsuka spoke up. "You said weapons, right? I'll only use one of my soul weapons against you guys. Won't even activate any of the weapons' abilities, too. In exchange for two of your guys. It's about the same thing."
"He does have soul weapons, Kaleb." Another friend of Kaleb's spoke. "I don't know if… we should do that, though."

"Fine with me." Lee Seng nodded.
"Same." Ritsuka nodded.
"What're you gonna bet?" Kaleb asked.
"Well…" Lee Seng glanced over at Ritsuka. Ritsuka shrugged. "You'll make me your lackey if I lose… Hmmm…"
"What if Kaleb leaves his little group?" Ritsuka suggested. "He's making you become his lackey, so why not play along with that?"
"Leave Felix's group and do a year's worth of Academy tutor work." Lee Seng raised his eyebrows at Ritsuka.
"Hahahah!" Ritsuka chuckled. "It'll make him do his homework at least!"
"You little–" Kaleb began to rush forward when two of his friends pulled him away.
"Kaleb, calm down. They're toying with you so you can fuck up now." His first friend told him.
"Don't." The other one spoke up. "You can just deny it if you want."
"Deny it when we've already gone through all this trouble?" Ritsuka frowned. "Wouldn't want news to spread that you actually got scared, now would you?"
"Plus you're the one who started this. I just wanted to get out of here after a shower, but you had to steal two towels from me…" Lee Seng shook his head. "You aren't scared or anything, right?" He let out a smile and watched as Kaleb's vein on his neck bulged.
"Fine. I'll accept it. But we get to choose the date of the match." Kaleb aggressively told them.
"Fine. Can't be during the group field test." Ritsuka told him.
"It'll be before. Gives you two enough time to prepare."
"Sounds good to me." Lee Seng smiled. "IF that's it, I wanna change in peace. Can everyone leave?" He turned his gaze into the crowd. They all began to disperse, excitedly.
"We gotta tell everyone another betting match is gonna happen!" The guys said, leaving the locker rooms.
