Lee Seng took one last look around the closet before stepping out. Mrs. Williams' hologram mock up of his future room was still in their place.
"Alright, if that's it, I'll save your preferences and get some furniture moved in here this week before you guys move in." Mrs. Williams told him.
"Sounds good. Thanks for the help." Lee Seng told her.
"No, problem." She lead the way out back through the hall. "I know I gave you a rough look around, but you if you want to look around more, please do so. I'll be upstairs finalizing your group's information." Lee Seng nodded and watched her move to the staircase. Lee Seng took a peek into the laundry room. There was a set of laundry machines in the room with cabins. Lee Seng nodded and slowly stepped out.
"What're you guys gonna do with all the extra space on the second floor?" Garcia asked. Lee Seng turned his head left to watch Ritsuka and Garcia enter the hallway.
"Maybe a movie room. I'm not sure. They just set it up as another living space." Ritsuka answered. Garcia and Ritsuka made eye contact with him as he stepped out. "All done?"
"Yeah. I'm just taking a closer look around now." Lee Seng answered.
"Did you ask her about the haunted house stuff?"
"No. I didn't want to get the same answer. 'Oh, there were reporters of squatters, but we dealt with the problem.'" Lee Seng led the way into his room. He turned around as Garcia took a look around.
"Did you notice plaything when you initially walked around?" Garcia asked. Any of his friends would've asked the same question. They all had their doubts this place was one hundred percent secured. Lee Seng shook his head.
"I didn't see anything. I've only did an initial scan so I was gonna get a closer look and check out the other rooms." Lee Seng answered. Garcia popped out of the closet and nodded.
"What do you think of the house, though? It's a steal, right?" Ritsuka elbowed Lee Seng. He wanted to get his input on it. Lee Seng nodded and wandered out of the room.
"I can't believe a huge rustic home like this is still up because it's 'haunted.' It's a 7 bedroom house with like four and a half baths… Anyone would want to try to snag this home but I guess the house has its reputation." Lee Seng shrugged. He entered the gym and looked at all the equipment. They literally had their own personal gym and he couldn't help but think how often he would use this.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt'This would probably be something I'd use everyday.' Lee Seng thought.
"Lemme show you my room. There's a creepy storage door on the way that I want you to look at." Ritsuka motioned Lee Seng over. Lee Seng and Garcia followed Ritsuka to the opposite hall. Ritsuka opened the door and extended his arm into the pitch black room to turn the lights on. "Where were those lights, again?" Lee Seng stepped into the pitch black storage room.
"Be careful." Garcia told him. "There's some stuff in there, still." Lee Seng's foot hit a box and he looked down with his brown eyes. Ritsuka flicked the lights on and the room illuminated. Boxes filled with an assortment of stuff were randomly sprawled in the storage room. Lee Seng casually dug through the stuff, pulling out wired headphones attached to an old mp3 player.
"This is kinda old." Lee Seng commented. He set the stuff back into the box and turned his attention to scanning the room. The storage room was about the size of a small room. It was square and had concrete walls and flooring. It looked exactly like a storage room to him. His eyes went to the parallel wall from the entrance he came through. In the right corner, he noticed a small wooden door of sorts. "What's that?" He pointed at the corner.
"Oh, Mrs. Williams said its a crawl space." Ritsuka told him.
"Why would they need a crawl space from inside the house? It's just cement and dirt…" Lee Seng looked at them. "Did you guys look around in the back?"
"It's covered with snow, so we couldn't look around."
"Well, hopefully this stays closed." Lee Seng pointed at the crawl space. "If it opens, ever, I'm gonna have you crawl into it." He patted Ritsuka and made his way out of it. Garcia chuckled as he turned and stepped out of the room. Ritsuka shut the lights off and closed the storage room door. He showed Lee Seng to his room. It was a similar size like Lee Seng's.
"So we do share a bathroom." Lee Seng nodded.
"Yup. It's just you and I though, so it should be fine." Ritsuka nodded.
"Man, you wanted all of this in here?" Lee Seng looked at the furnished room. Ritsuka had picked black and/or white furniture. His color palette seemed to reflect the way he wore clothes. Absolute black or white. They made their way back to the first floor. It seemed like the rest of the group was already done. They all sat in the living room, chatting away.
"How do ya like it?" Manny asked.
"What're we gonna do with this much space?" Lee Seng asked. "It's so big." His eyes looked around the living room before he planted himself behind the large sofa that was pointed at a huge TV screen. "And we don't have to pay for this space at all?"
"Room and Board prices." Liz told him. "You shouldn't have to worry since you're on a scholarship. The rest of us might have to pick up some cash to accomodate for the food situation."
"That's what Field Group quests are for, right?" Ritsuka answered.
"Yup. We'll probably have to do them if you don't want to work at any of the restaurants or stores nearby."
"It'll be good practice for us, though. We can work on our group dynamic more." Olivia commented.
"The Field Group q-quests usually pay more than what any of th-these stores wi-will give you." Garcia added.
"Are you all done looking around?" Mrs. Williams asked, stepping out of the kitchen area.
"Yup. I think we're done." Manny nodded. He looked over at Lee Seng. "Do you wanna take one last look around or do you think everything's fine?"
"I'm good."
"Alright," Mrs. Williams nodded. "I have finalized everything and you all should get a email soon. Move in day is on Saturday. Room and Board should cover for everyone living here. All other things you'll need to provide for yourself. Groceries, shampoo, soap, toothpaste, etc. Anything else I can help you with before we all leave?"
"I don't think so." Manny looked around at the group. They all shook their heads and he nodded at Mrs. Williams. "I think we're good."
"Alright, everyone. It's a pleasure setting up this house for y'all. I'm just glad its finally being used again." She chuckled. The group stood up and filtered to the front door. They all slipped their shoes on and turned to thank Mrs. Williams for her hard work.
"Y'all have a safe walk home!" Mrs. Williams waved. They waved at the housing agent who shut the door behind the students as they moved down to the black driveway.
"Is this a heated driveway too or something?" Lee Seng asked, kicking at the driveway.
"Yup. Heated and everything." Liz answered.
"So what now?" Olivia asked. "We could grab something to eat around here."
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm"Oh, didn't you say there was a pizza place around here, Garcia?" Lee Seng turned to ask him. Garcia nodded and motioned ahead of them.
"It's a couple minutes that way. Cheap pizza that hits the s-spot when you need it to." Garcia answered.
"Why don't we go there? I want pizza." Olivia asked everyone.
"Sure." The group nodded.
"How cheap are we talking?" Evan asked.
"Mmm, two pizzas are like 100 creds?" Garcia answered.
"Oooo, we could totally get our fill." Ritsuka grinned.
"Pizza then?" Liz looked at everyone. They all nodded.
"Alright, let's go." Manny motioned.
"Wanna detour to my place before we go?" Garcia asked Lee Seng.
"Yeah, we could. Did you need to go back for anything?" Lee Seng asked. Garcia shook his head.
"Nah, I didn't plan on tagging along with you today so I didn't alert the others. I didn't send them a text, either because we're literally right here." Garcia pointed behind him. "If your teammates don't mind, could we stop by my place quick? I'll ask if any of them want pizza, too." Lee Seng turned to look at everyone.
"You mind if we stop by his place on the way? It's nearby." Lee Seng pointed to his left (the group's right).
"Sure. It's not too far, right?" Manny asked Garcia.
"Down the street a little further. Not that far." Garcia nodded.
"Sure, sure. Let's go."
