Chapter 143 -CLARA- Despite all I had said, Damon still didn't letgo for the whole day after he woke up but the next morning, I wasn't taking no for an answer and had to throw all kinds of tantrums to make him letout of that room. After a while, he succumbed and I knew it was because he knew there wasn't any tto waste anymore. He had to start strategizing.

We bathed together and got dressed together before leaving the house. Damon urgedto take breakfast but I was still full from the food I had been stuffed with last night.

Damon always made sure to feedevery two hours because in his words, I didn't eat as much as a pregnant woman should and that I had gotten thinner whereas I felt like I was becoming a whale.

"I'll drop you off at Delilah's house then cget you back later, okay? Make sure you eat there, hmm? And if you want anything, just call-me" He uttered and I rolled my eyes.

"Okay Dad" I replied which made him chuckle. Soon enough, we got to Delilah's house and I could already see her and her parents waiting outside forwith Luca by the side.

"If you feel overwhelmed by them, all you have to do is say it Damon uttered and he grabbed onto my hand. "Why will I feel overwhelmed? If anything, I missed them... even your father" I uttered with a leaned down and placed a kiss on my lips.

"I'm going to miss you, so f**ng much" He murmured against my lips.

"Where are you going?" I questioned as I pulled back from the kiss.

smile he chuckled then “Luca and I will be going to the company to check how things are. I haven't gone there since you were gone” He explained and slowly nodded.

"You two better not make any plans withoutor else you'll be sleeping in another room till this baby is born" I threatened and he laughed wholeheartedly, bringing a smile to my face.

"Don't worry, you're my partner and that makes us a team. Even if we cup with a plan, I'll relay it to you, okay? Letwalk you to them” He said as he unbuckled my seatbelt then placed a kiss on my cheek before we climbed out of the car.

I could see the skeptical look in their eyes mingled with guilt. To me, they had no reason to feel guilty, their reactions valid. I know for a fact that I would have done worse if Damon had been the one lying on that hospital bed.

Damon slowly let go of my hand so I could hug her back as she cried on my shoulders.

"I'm so sorry for how I treated you, I should have known" She apologized and I sighed before pulling away. I smiled as I wiped her tears away.

"You had every reason to react that way, I'm not angry at you in the slightest. I missed you" I told her and she began to cry again as she huggedtighter.

Now I began to understand what Damon meant. I was indeed feeling overwhelmed.

"That's enough before you suffocate her" Damon uttered as pushed Delilah away fromand I thanked him through a mind link and he winked at me.

"Look at you, you're really pregnant. I'm going to be an aunt soon" She squealed as her parents and Luca walked up to us while I just smiled.

"Do you know how far along you are?" Damon's mother questioned with a soft look in her eyes and I nodded my head.

"The last tI checked, the doctor said I was three and a half weeks pregnant. I haven't checked or had an ultrasound because I wanted to do it with Damon" I murmured before turning to him and a look flashed in his eyes before he leaned down and placed a kiss on my lips. - "We'll go get an ultrasound Tomorrow, okay?" He murmured and I nodded.

"Can't wait. By the way, where's Dimitri? I just realized that I haven't seen him since I got back" As soon as I said that, that look on Damon's face turned cold and I immediately knew something was wrong.

"What is it? Where is he?" I questioned as I glanced at everyone and they all had frowns on their face and that could only mean one thing.

"What did you do to him, Damon? Where is Dimitri?" I questioned.

"Where he should be, in the cell" He uttered and I gasped.

"What? Why?" I asked and he scoffed.

"Why? Because if it weren't for him, I wouldn't have had to endure a whole week without you. He wanted to fking sell you off for goddess sake" Damon replied. "He wasn't going to selloff and he was doing it all for your sake. He..."

That's enough talk on Dimitri. I'll cget you later, okay? Let's leave Luca" Heluttered a kiss on my lips before walking away before I could get a word out and I couldn't help but frown. "I want to see him" I uttered as soon as Damon and Luca had driven away.

"Dimitri doesn't want to see anyone anymore" Delilah explained and I turned to her.

"He would want to see me. Taketo him now"...
