132 Chapter 132: Infiltration mission
Alex frowned as he remained seated in silence for a while. He couldn’t tell why Silver disagreed with his speculations.
“Why do you say so?” Alex asked with a raised eyebrow.
“You and the silver-haired man are different... with this many resources, if you were in his position, wouldn’t you just stay hidden until you have amassed enough strength to conquer the world? Why come out and waste it on silly things like these enhancer prototypes?” Silver asked.
“From the little I have seen, he is not dumb. That’s one thing for sure. The main question now is this. Is there a limit to how strong you can grow with this method? If yes, then you guys are the same. Or your abilities are a bit similar but different at the same time” Silver said thoughtfully.
Listening to this Alex considered it reasonable and nodded in agreement. Silver’s speculations were on point and not too far from the possible truth but another thought popped into his mind.
“If he says we are the same, doesn’t that mean he must have gone through the project power experiment as well? Can’t you go through the records and find out who he truly is?” Alex asked and Silver shook his head with a bitter smile on his face.
“First of all, I don’t have enough clearance to go through files that involve such crazy experiments that went on between the Briggs, Ainsworths, and the American government... Also my people are not dumb, I’m pretty sure they already checked and found nothing! If they did they won’t be quiet and helpless now” Silver said calmly

Although this matter absorption ability, granted him a faster method of gaining power, there is still a limit to the amount of energy he can consume in a day, if not he would have completely drained this purple gem by now.
.....
Ring!
Ring!
Alex wanted to say more but his phone rang and he gazed at it with a shocked look on his face.
It was the general.
After picking up the call and speaking for close to twenty minutes, Alex dropped it and frowned, prompting Silver to ask the question.
“What’s up?” Silver asked.
“We have gotten a new task and every member of the team must take part in it” Alex muttered after a few seconds of silence.
“Are the battle suits ready?” Alex asked Silver abruptly.
“I was able to acquire the A series of the Battlesuits. Although it’s nowhere near the Z series, it should still be decent enough” Silver said calmly and Alex nodded in understanding.

In General Firestorm’s office, Alex and his teamed lined up, all dressed in black and red combat exoskeleton suits. They all looked intimidating but what was even scarier was the air around Alex.
Even without being told, the general could tell Alex was slightly stronger than before making him wonder how it happened.
This brat really got stronger by battling that prototype?
Is it still possible for people to evolve due to battle?
Numerous thoughts ran through the old general’s head but he promptly shook it off and turned his attention to Alex.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm“Our scout found what he believes is an entrance to the Tyrant gang underground base. So far the prototypes have been launched into the air whenever it’s being used so we decided to investigate. After seeing it a couple of times we were able to track its location...” General Firestorm said with a stern look on his face.
“And you want us to clear it out for you” Alex said with a raised eyebrow.
“Yes! You are fully healed but the enemy doesn’t know that... They won’t expect you to sneak in from behind when we push forward” General Firestorm said calmly.
“And you think we can accomplish this task alone?” Alex asked with the same emotionless look on his face. He didn’t seem to agree with the task but he didn’t reject it either.
This is something he considered risky and wouldn’t mind going in alone but bringing in the whole team to a place filled with enhancer prototypes. If something happens, likely, they will all end up dead but if he is alone, or with just Silver, his chances of surviving are higher.
“It is called a squad for a reason, you cannot keep babysitting them and letting them take the glory for doing literarily nothing” General Firestorm seemed to read through Alex’s thoughts and responded.
“With all due respect, general. They are my squad. No one is more familiar with their strengths and weaknesses outside me and I say they are not ready... when they are ready I will leave important tasks for them to handle... For now, I strongly recommend they don’t engage in something this dangerous! As for what you think about my decision, I don’t believe it’s important. All that matters is that I get the job done” Alex said coldly but the General didn’t seem pissed. He seemed to have expected this kind of reply.
“Well, my thoughts are the absolute... So they will go along with you on this mission... You didn’t come this far by sitting at home all day and practicing in silence... You have numerous brushes with death to get this far and so will they.... Even if you return with the corpse of my grandson I won’t blame you... All that matters is the experience!” General Firestorm said calmly and Alex frowned.
He couldn’t disprove what the man was trying to say but he also didn’t completely agree with him. Yes! His two meetings with Cherry made him stronger but he only survived because of the Culture. If they didn’t appear at the right time he wouldn’t be here right now.
“If that’s the case, do not be too surprised if my team withdraws at the sight of danger... don’t expect me to take unnecessary risks with them around...” Alex said calmly with a firm look on his face.
“You don’t have to worry, I’m not sending you in alone... There is a backup team out there waiting for you... They are the second team that managed to deal with the enhancer prototype sent their way just like you...” the general said which made Alex frown.
