The Jellyfish Seal lay nearby, untouched, as she seemed uninterested in giving it more than a cursory glance.
The room fell into a hush, and Philip couldn't quite get a read on what was going through her head. He'd never been able to fully
understand her.
The woman picked up the mug of tea from the table and took a sip, a small smile playing at the corners of her lips.
"What about that girl you mentioned before? You know, Cynthia's daughter?"
"She's still alive."
The woman raised an eyebrow. If Philip had taken action, that girl shouldn't be alive, she thought.
"It seems you gave her a chance to live."
"Just killing her would've been too boring."
He wanted to turn her into livestock for experimentation, like the subjects in the observation room.
His initial intention to bring Maja back to the BK was just that.
Let her taste the sweet life of being a leader, gain her trust, and then bring her to the research facility.
Then she'd be like a lab rat, completely at their mercy.
But he had been careless. To his surprise, when presented with the position of leader, Maja hadn't been tempted. Instead, she was
fixated on how to stay side by side with lan.
Ridiculous.
When he found out she was on Forbidden Island, he stopped holding back. But Dylan and Abner's support ctoo quickly, and
with Quentin causing chaos, he failed to get his way and had to retreat, consequently blowing his cover.
The woman, still eyeing her mug, gestured dismissively, "I'm tired. You all can leave now."

"There's a recommendation coming up for a chair position. Philip, prepare sdocumentation. I'm considering putting you
forward."
There were twenty chairs in the research facility, each responsible for liaising with the core internal members.
Philip had been at the facility for years and had access to the core members, but there was a strict nomination process that rarely
allowed for advancement. Now, he finally had his chance.
Becoming a chair meant he could freely use the pills developed by the research facility, no longer restricted by the previous
quotas.
A smirk curled on his lips. With all those lethal pills at his disposal, it would be easy to feed one to Maja or lan, ensuring their
untimely and disgraceful demise.
He left in high spirits, "Understood, I'll draft the documents right away."
As soon as the door closed, Philip retreated to his own room.
It was a suite he and Phil had secured through the women - their designated place whenever they returned to the facility.
Phil, returning to his room, carefully unpacked leaves he had collected from the outside.
Opening a glass cabinet, he admired the variety of leaves he had turned into specimens over the years. Every the found a
uniquely shaped leaf, he would preserve it and add it to his collection.
It was a habit he started ten years ago. Having spent most of his life trailing behind Philip, he rarely had tto himself.
At five, he'd met Philip and seen the sky for the first t- a completely foreign concept to him. He was mesmerized and couldn't
move.
Back at the facility, he only saw glass panes and doctors in white coats.
His meals consisted of raw meat, and like an uncivilized beast, he would hold the flesh in his hands and tear into it with each bite.
There were many others like him at the facility, but he was one of the lucky ones who had been exposed to the outside world, while
so many still didn't even know what a leaf was.
Phil smiled as he looked at the wall filled with his collection of leaves.
The door opened and Philip stepped in, his eyebrow arching slightly at the sight of the leaves.
"You brought back more leaves?"
"Yeah."
"Why collect these?"
With all the money he had, why not collect something more valuable? Why leaves? Philip never stayed at the facility long enough
to understand how precious these leaves could be to someone who had never seen the outside world.
"I really like them."
When Phil imitated Philip, he was articulate and clear, but when he was himself, his reactions slowed.
He seldom allowed himself to be Phil, only reverting to his true self within the walls of the facility.
Outside, he subconsciously imitated Philip as if that was the only way he could interact with people normally.
