Sarah knew that lan couldn't buy too much time. After all, those things were her own creation. She quickly composed herself and
retrieved the explosives, distributing them among the small group gathered before her.
"Find scorners, especially near doors, and set the explosives there. But remember to keep your distance from us - the blast
from these things is fierce."
It had taken her three years to develop this explosive, which was many times more powerful than standard dynamite.
The ground had already shuddered once. If the explosives were added to the mix, an earthquake and landslide could very well
follow soon after.
At that point, the research base would either be blown to the surface or buried forever underground. But there was no choice left.
As lan had pointed out, waiting around was a death sentence.
A few people quickly set off with their explosive-laden backpacks, donning an extra layer of protective gear. With the majority of
people in the main hall wearing similar suits, and with Philip's focus fixed on lan, the big screen continuously displayed lan's face
and his dire situation.
lan was dodging attacks from Subject 8, managing to avoid them but still looking ragged.
Subject 8's strength was beyond human, fixating on lan like a predator poised to pounce. lan had just taken a punch that made

Philip's voice taunted him again, "If you die here, Maja is going to be devastated. My only regret is that she didn't follow you in."
If Maja were here, Philip could've taken them all down in one fell swoop.
lan ignored him, deftly avoiding Subject 8's assaults. Philip watched with interest, even pouring himself a glass of scotch from a
nearby cabinet. The only downside was the bodies lying around, which dampened his spirits.
The control room had everything one could need, a testament to Isaac's influence, something she had always hidden from Philip.
She had never trusted Philip; if it weren't for her feelings for Phil, she would've killed Philip long ago. But she hadn't, because in
Phil's eyes, Philip, his family, was everything. And because she hadn't, they were now in this mess.
lan once again dodged an attack from Subject 8.
Subject 8's will to live was fierce; he needed to survive to see his family again, and anyone in his way deserved to die. He
continued his silent assault on lan, the fight between them escalating. The other test subjects, eager to join in, found themselves
unable to get close.
Meanwhile, Walter and a few others had placed the explosives in designated spots. But when it ctto detonate, he
hesitated.
His curiosity about the base had led him there, along with rumors that a genius from the Moore family might have been taken for
experiments.
Upon arrival, however, he discovered a world far more terrifying than he had imagined. It was likely that the genius was already
dead, used for experiments.
He had got the explosives prepared, and then asked his companions standing near him, "Ready?"
"Yeah."
A clock on the wall ticked away the minutes. They had three minutes to activate the bombs and then retreat to the central hall.
Walter wasn't afraid to die, but the sight of the test subjects’ relentless killing spree made him think that this must be what hell
looked like.
The minute hand moved slowly, and the three minutes flew by.
Bending down, Walter activated the explosive and started running back. The explosive had a five-minute delay before detonation.
By the tthey reached the central hall, it had beca world akin to purgatory.
Somehow, poison had been released. A few protective suits had melted from intense heat exposure, yet the fight against lan
continued with ferocity.
lan, fending off Subject 8, was already battered and bruised. Amidst the chaos, Philip's voice boomed over the intercom,
"Fascinating, truly fascinating. lan, I'm surprised you've lasted this long."
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmHe hadn't expected lan to withstand Subject 8, known for his lethal prowess. Philip smirked, taking another sip of his drink,
unaware that Phil stood by the door, seeming on the verge of stepping out.
Philip's attention was still on the screens; he didn't notice Phil at the door. The latter had just slipped an insect into his own pocket,
but the creature, restless, had flown out through a small gap.
He wanted to ask Philip if he could open the door to recapture the insect. But Philip had warned him not to touch that particular
insect. If he knew Phil had hidden it in his pocket, he'd be furious.
Taking a deep breath, Phil opened the door himself and started searching for the insect by the doorway.
