Chapter 18
Maja swept the har back from her forehead, tucking it behind her ear. Her eyes were bright and clear.
Her speech was crisp, tinged with a light laugh, and the extended her hand
“Mr Raymond allow me to reintroduce myself I’m Penny, an interior designer. The item you’re holding is
one of my works
Ian came to a halt, thinking he must’ve heard wrong.
When Maja saw that he didn’t shake her hand, she withdrew it leisurely
Tve wanted to talk about this a few times, but you didn’t seem interested Seeing that you’ve kept my
designs, I’m thinking maybe I could change your mind.”
Her words flowed naturally. “If so, I think I owe you a favor”
In his twenty odd years, lan had never been in such a situation. An interior designer? He glanced at the

Penny
Remembering the conversations, his brows furrowed deeper Was it all a misunderstanding?
His face darkened, he held the picture in hand, and sat back on the couch
There was a knock on the door Jeff’s voice came from outside “Boss, the lady’s clothes ae here.”
Maa quickly caught on, this was probably for her
Just as Jeff was about to knock the door opened from inside, revealing a woman wrapped in a towel
drenched from head to toe. A shock flashed in Jeff’s eyes. The meeting was suddenly interrupted, and
many were curious about the woman by the boss’s side. They had to know who she was, to avoid
offending her
Jeff was also clueless, hearing whispers calling the woman Mr. Raymond’s wife.
He paused and quickly handed over the bag. His gaze involuntarily darted inside, catching sight of lan
sitting leisurely on the couch. His suit was slightly wrinkled, and he looked like he had just deal with
some matters.
Jeff quickly averted his gaze, hearing Maja say. “Thank you,” before the door closed.
Maja tumed to lan, Mr. Raymond, could you wait a moment?”
She walked into the bathroom.
The hotel bathroom had frosted glass, you could clearly see the silhouette through the light. lan leaned
back lifting his eyes. He saw her seemingly take off the most intimate piece, his eyes flinched,
uncomfortably averting his gaze.
Maachanged her clothes, tossed the towel into the hampet and came out.
The outfit Jell brought was a women’s casual sel. It made her look even prettier
She still held the card in her hand, “I don’t know how much this outfit costs, but the money on the card
should suffice. Thank you, Mr. Raymond.”

pulling on an act. But her straightforward demeanor, and the way she avoided him as much as
possible, clearly indicated she wanted to avoid further complications. Somehow, this realization made
him feel stifled.
“SIL” He said tersely. “So Ryan introduced you to me for the Greenfield Gardens‘ house, right?”
A flicker of surprise passed through Maja’s eyes. “What else could it be?”
The comers of lan’s mouth tightened. He recaled her saying she’d been in this business for three
years. Was she refering to interior design?
The confusion cleared, the memory of the blood stains on the sheets came to mind. He looked at het

Maja kept it strictly business.
“Mr. Raymond, about that house in Greenfield Gardens…”
Before she could finish, he asked, “Was the Raymond family banquel your first lime?”
Maja was startled, afraid he would say something about taking responsibility, she quickly relorled, “No.”
She laughed. “I forgot to tell you, I’m already married.”
