Everywhere she touched seemed to heat up:

His breathing lost its rhythm in an instant.

She quickly looked away, coughed awkwardly, and said, “We’re done, Mr. Raymond.”

What she meant was you can leave now.

But lan didn’t move. To him, this woman was glowing red all over her messy hair draped over her

shoulders, her small face filled with unease, her eyes still as clear as that night.

Perhaps the rain outside was too loud; lan lowered his eyelids, stood up, and tucked a strand of hair

behind her ear

Maja was so startled that she stopped breathing. Just when she was about to ask him what he was

doing, a cool kiss slid down her earlobe.

Her pupils contracted slightly, and all she could feel was a blank in her mind, and all she could hear

was the sound of the rain outside.
