Chapter 707
When Maja woke up, lan was still not home.
He’d pulled all–night for work before, so Maja didn’t think much of it. But when she was about to leave, she bumped
into Jeff, Jeff handed her a property transfer document.
lan had said last night that if she spent quality time with him this month, anything she needed would be delivered to
her pronto.
“Miss Maja, this is from the boss,” Jeff said.
Maja took a peek at the document and was surprised to find that the property was situated right smack in the city
center, something that was bid for in the early days. Little did she know, it belonged to lan.
It was a small community with only three buildings, four units each, each unit around 60 square meters. The
environment was superb. It was a highly sought–after property, mainly sold to those itching to own a home in
Greenfield. Plus, the transportation was super convenient.
All it needed was a good property management company for the facilities to be top–notch.
Looking at the information on the document, Maja was taken aback. Was lan really giving her this property?
“Is Mr. Raymond really giving this to me?” she asked.
The value of this piece of property could be in the hundreds of millions of dollars. It must have been appreciated
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtsince lan bought it early on, especially since land in this area was no longer available for purchase.
“Yes, the boss would like you to sign here,” Jeff replied.
Maja hesitated and didn’t sign.
“Jeff, how much is the monthly rent for this property?” she asked.
Jeff was surprised. If she accepted this gift, she would be set for life.
“Miss Maja, if it’s for you to rent, it should be around a million,” he replied.
“Alright, then, just a million. I won’t sign this document. When I have the capability to buy this property in the future,
we’ll talk,” Maja said.
lan’s willingness to provide such a property had already solved a big problem for her.
Without further ado, Jeff left with the document.
Maja also headed to the office. With the property issue sorted, all they needed was for Meetman Arkland to release
the script, and then Star Movie Group could fire the first shot.
In her office, she saw a file that Zoey had prepared on her desk.
“Mr. Pennyfeather, these are the acting students who are about to graduate from the Skyrim Film Academy. Some
of the more popular ones have already been signed by other companies. We’ve selected three, but their
appearances could be limiting. For example, this guy looked too serious. Apart from some upright roles, he might
not fit others. And these two girls, they clearly don’t have the charisma of a leading lady.”
It was a harsh reality, but it was true. Some people’s looks just weren’t suitable for the lead role. Even with great
acting skills, they would still face criticism from the audience.
As a result, these students were hardly ever signed by companies, as their choice of roles was very limited.
After taking a quick look, Maja asked Zoey to bring up the performance tapes of these students.
After watching, she tapped her fingers on the desk and, after a while, said, “Try getting in touch with this guy. His
looks may limit his roles, but his acting is quite spirited. The two girls, on the other hand, are quite standard. While
their roles may be limited, their performances aren’t exactly eye–catching.” Zoey nodded and was about to leave,
but Maja stopped her.
“How’s it going with your fiancé?”
Zoey was surprised by the sudden question, a rare blush appearing on her face.
“We’re doing great. Murray has always been hardworking. And he graduated from Solstice College, while I only
graduated from a regular university.” Solstice College was the top–ranked university in the country. In terms of
education, Zoey definitely couldn’t compete with Murray. Therefore, for Zoey to have gotten this far, she put in
hundreds of times more effort than an average person.
But was that man really worth entrusting her life to?
“Does your fiancé work under Sunshine Realty?”
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm“Yes, but he isn’t really affiliated with Sunshine Realty. Sunshine just owns shares in his company.”
This meant that Powell actually had a say in Murray’s future. Plus, with Evelyn, if Murray gave up his girlfriend of
seven years and got with Evelyn instead, he wouldn’t have to worry about housing anymore.
Neither men nor women could resist such temptation.
Especially since Murray already had some kind of relationship with Evelyn.
Maja didn’t know how to warn Zoey. After all, it was a relationship of seven years. How many sevens does one have
in their lifetime?
“Zoey, you might want to keep a closer eye on him. A promotion means he’ll be dealing with more complex
people.”
“Mr. Pennyfeather, I get it. I confessed to him when I was 15. He was my tutor back then. After all these years, I
know what kind of person he is.”
Maja opened her mouth to say something but decided against It. Some things, if not discovered firsthand, couldn’t
be belleved.
Men were masters of disguise. Some men removed their masks when they were about to tie the knot.
Some took it off when their wife was about to give birth.
Because they felt like they’ve completely won her over, there’s no need to be polite anymore.
