Feeling a sudden softness in his heart, he avoided her gaze and said, “Come in.”

Maja, fearing he might change his mind, quickly followed him into his room

There was an additional desk in the room, on which sat a running computer and a stack of files needing

to be dealt with.

lan seemed to be constantly busy, even bringing a host of files with him on his business trip.

Only then did Maja realize that his selection as successor might not only be due to his talent but also

his hard work.

Not everyone is naturally cut out for this job or able to shoulder this responsibility

Choosing not to approach the computer desk, Maja settled for a random chair.

lan went to the desk, opened the files, and continued his review with a pen in hand.

“Boss, eat something first. You have a meeting at 8 that lasts an hour and another overseas meeting at

9:30.”

lan put down his work, noticing there was only one set of utensils on the table. “Bring another set

Maja didn’t wait for lan’s Invitation. She was so hungry that just smelling the food made her stomach

growl.

Just as she sat down, her stomach made an untimely rumble, making her feel highly embarrassed

Jeff quietly left the room.

The food on the table was very light, which was suitable for Maja’s current condition.

She didn’t dare to bother lan to serve her soup. Just as she was about to get up to serve herself, she

saw lan’s handsome hands scoop up a bowl of soup and place it in front of her.

Maja was stunned. Maybe because her mood was so low today, she didn’t know how to respond to his

kindness, so she instinctively looked up at him.

just let her pick you up.”
