Chapter 254 - 254 Testing Out New Abilities (2)254 Testing Out New Abilities (2)
With the image of the humanoid demon manipulating its nether replayed again and again in Blake’s mind, Blake repeated the same exact sequence of the humanoid demon casting his spells using his brand new bloodline ability.
From the very first step where he gathered nether from his surroundings first, which could now happen actively after he activated the Advocate of Darkness ability, Blake began condensing them onto the bottom of his palm.
And with his innate ability to move nether as easily as flipping the palm of his hands, Blake didn’t even spend more than two seconds to gather enough nether in his palm before making it into a ball of condensed darkness element.
When Blake felt the darkness element in his palm had become so similar to a certain darkness elemental spell that he knew, Blake made several more adjustments to the ball of condensed darkness element before then aiming his palm forward and releasing the ball of darkness element.
The moment Blake let go of his grasp on the ball of condensed darkness element, it shot forward at an astonishing speed, moving so fast that it would be undodgeable at a half dozen meters range.
With Blake aiming his palm straight forward, the ball of darkness element then continued moving straight forward unhindered before it finally slowly died down as the darkness elements condensed inside it had all gone back to the surroundings, just like that one spell that Blake had in mind.
‘It worked…I did it….’ Blake might not have done it in under a second, but what he did with the darkness element earlier was definitely considered to be casting the darkness bullet spell.
Blake had just succeeded in casting the darkness bullet spell without casting a single rune in the air. Blake had only willed the nether to come to his hand and the nether changed to the darkness element on its own before condensing itself to a darkness bullet. Just like what he intended to happen in his mind.
As if doing it once was not enough to convince himself about what had just happened, Blake repeated the same sequence of gathering nether, pulling them, and gathering them in his palm, before his mind sent his command to the bunch of darkness elements.
.....
This time, right after the picture in Blake’s mind became clear and the darkness element received Blake’s will, the ball of darkness in the palm of Blake’s hand abruptly elongated itself, turning from a ball to a stick before it continued growing and became less stiff as more darkness element being poured into the gathered darkness element.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtIn just 3 seconds, a single darkness tendril appeared in Blake’s hand. Its flexible body and pointy tip flailed around as Blake didn’t release it or send it somewhere to attach itself.
“Robus, can you hold out your hand?” Blake shouted before the gorilla raised one of his huge arms up, giving Blake a branch-like object that he could target.
Without waiting for anything, Blake swung the flailing darkness tendril onto Robus’ arm, sending a command to the darkness tendril to elongate even more and latch itself onto Robus’ arm.
And if that was what Blake’s mind willed, it would also be what the darkness tendril was doing.
The flexible tendril made out of darkness quickly flew forward as it soon made contact with Robus’ arm. And just like what Blake had pictured, the darkness tendril continued moving, wrapping around and latching itself onto Robus’ arm.
Blake then tugged the darkness tendril hard while imagining the darkness tendril shortened itself while keeping the wrapped part the same, which resulted in Blake’s whole body being pulled towards Robus’ arm, 14 meters above the ground.
After landing on Robus’ arm, Blake stood still there for a few seconds as he let everything that had just happened sink in.
‘I could really cast darkness elemental spells without drawing a single demonic rune now…’
Realizing that his best friend was still holding out his hands forward for him to sit on, Blake quickly jumped off Robus’ arms while saying, “Oops, sorry for making you hold out your hand for too long pal.”
With his new enhanced physique that had received a boost from his evolution, casually jumping from 15 meters above the ground was nothing for Blake. His bones and joints wouldn’t be strained at all with just such a height.
However, before Blake landed on his two feet, the two folded wings on his back suddenly spread wide open as Blake sent his nether through them.
The second his wings were filled with nether, Blake’s whole body lightened to a more substantial degree compared to before with his pre-evolved wings.
Moving his wings exactly the same way as Vera had taught her before, It generated enough force to push Blake’s body off of the ground as Blake prevented his two feet from crash landing on the ground below him.
Though he might be a little overboard with the power of his flap as Blake literally sent himself back up again to Robus’ head level with a single flap of his two new fully developed wings. “Whoa, I will definitely need some time to get used to this,” Blake muttered as he waved at his enormous best friend right in front of his eyes.
“Oh? The little demon could already use his wings to fly on his own now?” A familiar voice called out from behind Blake as he flapped his wings strong enough to keep himself floating at the same height, not going up or letting himself fall.
When Blake turned his head around, he saw Vera flying right behind him using her own wings, a teasing smile plastered on her face as she looked at Blake with such proud eyes as if he was her own son.
Tilting her body slightly forward to get closer to him, Vera raised her hand as she slowly moved it towards Blake’s head. Doing the exact same motion every time she wanted to give Blake a rub or a pat on his head.
But before her hand could reach Blake’s head, Blake caught Vera’s hand and quickly complained.
“Hey, Vera, don’t you look at my wings now?” Blake flexed the two wings on his back, making sure that Vera saw how big they were and could even cover his whole body if he wanted them to. “I’m not a child anymore!”
Vera remembered what he told Blake before, telling him to say that again when he had his wings fully developed. She knew that Blake would soon evolve and get a proper pair of wings on his back that could make him fly.
However, she didn’t expect that Blake only took about a month, probably less to realize that sentence and actually tell her the exact same phrase that he told her before. ‘He really is something else…’
The smile on her face then turned to a grin as she asked, “Oh? You don’t want me to do this to you ever again then? Alright the-”
Before Vera could finish her sentence, Blake hurriedly pulled Vera’s hand closer to him and placed it on his head.
“I didn’t say I don’t want it,” Blake quickly said before Vera could utter another word.
Vera once again smiled as she began rubbing Blake’s head, doing it at the same spot where Blake had cried in her arms before.
Blake just stayed still as he felt the warmth of her hand and the comforting feeling that permeated throughout his whole body from his head.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmAs he remembered the feelings that he rarely, but not scarcely felt when he was back on the island, living in Vera’s isolated space, together with her, a thought came into Blake’s mind, “Umm… Vera…”
“Yes?” Vera asked, stopping her hand from moving so that Blake could look at her properly.
“I-”
Before Blake could even finish forming the words in his mind, a loud shout broke the silence as a certain demoness felt left out.
“Brother! Sister! I want to join too!” Along with the loud shout, a resounding boom echoed from beneath the two flying humanoid demons as Cyra propelled herself upward with her explosion.
With such a sudden and abrupt movement, not even Robus could react as the demoness crashed herself onto Blake’s body, breaking apart the half-formed words in Blake’s mind and also the silence in the air.
After catching the demoness and letting her rest in his arms to stay floating in the air with the two of them, Vera once again asked Blake, “What did you want to say, Blake?”
“No, nothing. I’m not even sure what I wanted to say.” Blake quickly shook his head as he began to register everything that had happened and what his next goal was.
After spending about 10 whole seconds juggling in his mind, Cyra’s voice once again entered Blake’s ears.
“Brother, where do we go after this?”

Having spent the last few seconds thinking about his goals, his promise to Amy, and also seeing the new quest that the system had given him, Blake answered without even a second delay.
“What else? Let’s go descend to the next demon realm!”
