Chapter 973: Lyon and Drogan
In the heart of the chaotic coliseum, Lyon sat comfortably, watching as the bandit leader hovered in the air whilst eyes were on him. Lyon’s wife sat beside him, her hand in his, her eyes locked on the threat.
“We finally meet!” said Drogan with his encompassing voice. All attention was garnered in this simple method. He summoned a greatsword with a flick of his finger and held it in one hand. His towering figure was not for show but his eyes lacked the confidence that Lyon had.
All three students looked up and saw Drogan had chosen his prey. Their teacher had been found in the midst of chaos.
“I never thought that I would have a fan of your size,” answered Lyon.
“Sharp tongue,” said Drogan before smirking, “Do you think you can save Refl?”
“Think?” Lyon spread his legs taking up spaces. He pulled back the hood and revealed his face. He leaned backward. “What makes you think that I’m here to save him?”
“Hm?” Drogan furrowed his brows whilst Ferece carefully sized up the man that was responsible for the death of his fellow bandits. ( That’s him? I sense… nothing dangerous though, how peculiar ).
“You’re not?!” Lenu exclaimed together with Refl.
“Oi, oi, that’s him! The one blooming around in Guh City!” said a surviving cultivator.
“Yeah! No doubt about it, that’s the guy that exterminate three of the powerhouses that Burgeon Swan had, in less than a week!”
“We better get out of here! If they’re going to fight, I doubt this place would last!”
“Agree!”
Lyon had made his presence known. Despite the severe pressure that Drogan exuded, his shoulders were as light as feathers.
Reinhard had his lips gaped at the sight. Their teacher was more than capable than he could have imagined, however, the scene of killing a cultivator that was supposed to be on his side kept him from feeling the glory.
“Oi, oi, snap out of it!” said Edward. “They are still coming.”
“There! He is with that cocky asshole! Kill him!”
Reinhard had his brows raised. He was now the target, however, simple bandits wouldn’t be able to take him down easily. He dodged the upcoming slash to the side before making a jump slash with his spear, beheading the bandits in one swing.
Reinhard gritted his teeth and held his spear tight in reverse. He looked at the surviving cultivators around him. He knew not which was the enemy, however, for now, he would take down anyone that was going to do harm either toward him or Edward.

Lyon raised his brows before his eyes sharpened. The greatsword was jolted toward him from the ruthless swing that Drogan did. He saw it zipping the air and aiming at his glabella.
“Scarlett..” he softly whispered. The bloodied sword returned with its black hue. Lyon flicked before the sword rotating in the air and then kicked the hilt end of it with his sole.
The two blades crazed each other by the middle before launching at each other’s target.
“A counter?!” Drogan raised his brows and moved his neck as much as he could and managed to dodge Scarlet by a hair at the same time an explosion occurred on Lyon’s side.
“Is it over?” Ferece unconsciously muttered as he saw the smoke slowly climbing the sky from the source of impact.
“Yes…”
Ferece’s pupils shrunk before the wind toiled his hair. He quickly squatted down and dodged the horizontal slash. “You’re too slow, brat!” he countered by launching his heel toward Rayus’s chin. However, at that exact moment, a magic brand formed right at his blind spot. His skin crawled at the incoming danger and immediately averted all of his efforts to jump away from the three snakes trying to rip apart his limb.
( He dodged that?! ) thought Rayus who was still in midair.
The moment Ferece’s feet landed he immediately launched toward Noah who was unguarded.
( No! ) thought Rayus as the moment his feet landed he quickly made a chase. ( I’m not gonna make it! ). “Noah!!!”
“Now, you can suffer no more!” said Ferece with a wide grin. “Your dear teacher will send you, hahaha— Huh!?” a spear was coming right at him. “Tch!” he maneuvered out of the range and gave himself quite a distance from the two of them.
The spear stabbed the ground before Reinhard showed up in front of Noah.
“Reinhard!” Rayus exclaimed with a grin.
“Holy shit, you almost look cool,” said Noah whose heart skipped a few lives.
“Well, well, I thought you would never show up,” said Ferece as he got up with a smirk. “What a nice reunion, all three of you still look pathetic like last time.”
“Hey! I thought you were supposed to protect me!” shouted Edward from the VIP room.
Reinhard disregard the scream from his client and pulled out his spear from the ground. Rayus joined him with Noah in the back.
Ferece laughed sinisterly. “What a flashback, Let me guess, Rayus is going to get crippled again?”
“Not this time.”
“Gh?!” Ferece’s pupils shrink to a dot before an arm casually swam around his shoulder.
“Well, that student of mine is now healed, he can swing at one hundred percent, so do your best,” said Lyon with a smirk.
( I can’t sense him at all… ) thought Ferece before his eyes sharpened.
“Teacher?!” exclaimed all three of them.
“Nobody sneaked up on me and live!” shouted Ferece before he swiftly turned but his chest was laid open toward Lyon’s sole. The moon hare glared before the impact launched Ferece with blood bursting out of his mouth. The body sunk into the rubble with a loud tremor.
“There, I give you a handicap,” said Lyon as he clapped the dust in his hands.
“Teacher look out!”
“Huh?” he looked up to see Drogan’s hand was about to grab his face. However, the latter missed a subtle figure launching from beneath the clouded dust. Her feet made it just in time toward Drogan’s side rib but she was not able to propel him without the Moon Hare’s blessing, however, it was enough for Lyon to get away from his claw.
“Phew~ you saved me there,” said Lyon before he retreated together with his wife a few steps away.
“Heh,” Drogan stood up with indifference on his face. His towering figure was enough to make a grown man submit. “You’re lucky.”
“Is that so…” Lyon complied.
“You call yourself a man, hiding behind a woman?” said Drogan as he opened his right hand and the greatsword returned from the rubbles— flying.
“Sword intent…” muttered Lenu as he hid under rubble with Refl Angst.
“Goddamnit Lenu, how many people died?! This is a reckless plan!”
“Don’t lecture me about how many people die now! If you’re dead, then so are all of our efforts!” said Lenu.
Refl sighed. His attention needed to be elsewhere. He looked at Lyon and Selena stood against Drogan, the man that created the Burgeon Swan.
“You just never have a good woman, Drogan,” said Lyon with his shoulders shrugged.
Selena’s lips quivered slightly after hearing his words.
“Besides,” he raised his middle and index finger before flicking it.
“Hm?!” Drogan swung his sword and a clank was heard. ( Sword intent! ) thought Drogan as he saw the bloodied sword with a black hue spiral away before launching again. He repelled it again, but the sword kept coming at him again. “Hmph!” He slammed his sword down and pinned Scarlett on the ground.

“For your sake, you better hope I stay joking.” Lyon breathed out right with his figure already behind Drogan.
Drogan’s eyes widened in disbelief. The man he was speaking a moment ago had vanished right before his very eyes.
“An opening!” exclaimed Lenu.
Selena from the front and Lyon from behind. The two checkmate the captain of the Burgeon Swan.
“Gah!” Drogan let out a mana burst and propelled Lyon away.
“Darling!” Selena raised her brows before she blinked with the trail of roaring dragons behind her steps. A simple sword slashed toward Drogan’s neck. However, her jade eyes widened as he saw Drogan grab the blade with his hand.
“Truly a power to be reckoned with,” said Drogan, “I can’t believe I have to activate my rune against an Origin God.”
“Rune?!” Selena saw the inscribed rune emerge to the surface of his robust hand.
“Let… her… go…”
A bloodlust voice seeped into Drogan’s soul from behind, he snapped and quickly threw Selena at Lyon.
Lyon quickly caught Selena before looking up with his brows furrowed.
( What was that… I just threw her at him… out of instinct ) he shook his head, “It seems like this is as far as we get to know each other for now, Lyon, I’m sure we will meet again. Hahahaha!”
“What..?”
“Ferece! We are withdrawing,” said Drogan before he blast himself off the scene.
“Heh, see you later my cute ex-students!” said Ferece who suddenly emerged from the rubble and followed his captain at blinding speed. In the midst of his travel, he broke a Summoning Ruby Stone.
“Not so fast!” shouted Reinhard before Rayus stopped him. “Don’t be hasty!”
“But…!”
Bits of red light started to surround Refl.Follow current ɴᴏᴠᴇʟs on ɴo(v)elFɪre.net
“Oi Refl!” shouted Lenu.
“Fuck, quick, tell Lyon, he needs to find Burgeon Swan fast! Otherwise, he might lose something he doesn’t want to lose!”
“What?!” Lenu exclaimed before he saw his friend journey to the sky.
Thus the battle in the coliseum ended, with Selena in Lyon’s embrace and the three students looking up at the sky. The magnificent coliseum had been turned into ruins as Elder Bucca was seen having his head low as he sneaked away from the city.
