She knew that he only needed a little convincing.
However, now was not the time to tell him about it yet. Janine would have to settle some things first in order for this to work. If Janine missed out the opportunity, then it would be her greatest loss.
On the other hand, Gustav was brought back to his house by one of the guards.
The first day of Sparkling Buds was quite successful but it was also full of a lot of chaotic events.
The Sparkling Buds produced a lot of sales, and it was doing well with the users' reviews.
At this moment, the viral post was still garnering attention, so Stacey expected that tomorrow would be a busy day for the employees. They even expected for their chicken supply to be sold out, but there was nothing that Roland could do about it for now.
Speaking of the supplies, Roland has already planned to make the ten-hectare land that he received from the System into a production facility that would focus on catering to the demands of the Sparkling Buds, as well as the future branches that would be built later.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtThis was an all-around production facility and Roland was already prepared to even take a million Global Dollars just to get it done. He planned to contact a designing company later. Errr... not him, but Butler Frank, as it was his expertise to contact such capable people.
Anyways, after Carrol agreed to meet up with him, Roland finally went to the kitchen and made the two girls a late and warm dinner. It was only a few hours before midnight, and they still have not eaten yet. It just so happened that Roland wanted to eat a full meal now as he felt quite exhausted from the events earlier.
This was not the first time that the two of them tasted Roland's cooking, so they looked forward as to what dish he would cook this time for them.
After accessing her refrigerator, Roland realized that there was not that many ingredients left there aside from some vegetables. It was normal that it was not getting refilled as they went on a vacation together. In fact, seeing the vegetable that still looked fresh surprised Roland a little bit.
As it was the only ingredient available, Roland decided to make do with it.
After a few minutes, the vegetable salad was ready along with a side dish.
Stacey's eyes lit up the moment she saw them. She absolutely loves vegetables and knowing Roland, she knew that this salad would taste great.
Janine on the other hand was different, she was not someone who likes eating vegetables and she absolutely doesn't like the taste of them if she has a choice. She looked at the vegetable salad as if she were about to vomit just from looking at it.
As if Roland had noticed her visible dislike, he tilted his head and asked, "You don't like vegetables?"
Janine hesitated for a moment before saying, "Well, it's not that I can't eat them. I just don't like their taste..."
Roland nodded his head. Her not liking to eat vegetables was not strange. He knew that there were truly people like that, and he respected their choice. There was no need to force them to like something they truly didn't like.
"It's alright, I can cook another dish for you," he said with a smile.
Janine felt ashamed as her hurt fluttered after seeing how caring and understanding Roland was. She felt that she was doing something bad for not even trying the salad that he especially made for them.
"W-wait... I'll try this first," she said as she took the spoon.
She looked at the vegetable salad as if she was looking at her greatest opponent.
"Okay, but don't force yourself alright? And I put some honey on this salad so you might actually like it," Roland said.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm"Hmm.. It's indeed a little sweet and the smell of vegetables is not that strong either. You should definitely try it, Janine," Stacey suddenly stated as she started to eat the vegetable salad.
Roland smiled and did the same as her.
Seeing them eating the vegetables as if it was a cake, Janine gritted her teeth as she finally braved herself to take a spoonful of it as she slowly brought it towards her small mouth. She closed her eyes cutely as she took a nibble off the leaf of the lettuce that was protruding out of the spoon.
From one small bite and then to the next. Janine slowly opened her eyes as she chewed the veggies inside her mouth. A while later, her eyes suddenly lit up, as if she just found something surprising.
"It's really not bad," she said with a great joy on her face.
Even though she disliked eating vegetables before, she actually could not feel the dislike she had towards them right now.
At first, she was still worried that Roland's opinion about her might change if he learned that she doesn't like to eat the vegetables that he prepared. However, not only did he not insist on her eating it, but he also even respected her choice from the get-go without saying any more word.
And surprisingly the vegetable salad was actually quite good. She wondered if it was because of the honey, or maybe it was because of the fact that it was Roland who prepared it. Either way, she still found it surprising that she would appreciate a vegetable's taste one day.
And all of this was possible due to Roland. She took a quick glance at him for a moment before she went back to eating the salad with an extra blush on her face.
Stacey observed her actions with a hidden smile on her face. She could not help but shake her head as she thought that this child had truly fallen to the deep trap called Roland.
Even Stacey, a normal human, managed to see it, how much more Roland who was now a Peak Level 3 Human? He clearly saw her reactions and the way she was looking at him, however, as Stacey had guessed, he just decided to ignore it for the peace of everyone. In his mind, Janine's feelings for him would disappear in no time. Or so he thought.
