"Agh... That was impressive... It's been a long time since I've had something so delicious and appropriate to the moment. It was as if fate itself had sent you here." Zayne said sincerely, setting the empty bowl aside.
Klaus smiled, "Hah, I can't say I have high culinary skills, but, I definitely know how to use my favorite ingredient. Well, rest is over, it's time to move on."
Klaus stood up, shook off the dust, and waved his hand, making the cauldron disappear as well as the bowls. He picked up his cane and leisurely headed forward.
"Klaus... I think we should head for the split rock." Zayne suggested, leaning on his sword, his wounds needed time to heal.
Klaus turned around, "To the split rock? As far as I know, there's a practical class there today... What should we do there?"
"What...? Don't you know?" Zayne was puzzled.
Klaus just shook his head, "Honestly, I'm rarely interested in what's going on at the academy or taking part in events. Let's just say... I have my reasons..."
"Before the monster exploded, separating Mr. Solomon and me, he was contacted by someone via stone. He said to head for the split rock because that's where the monsters attacked the students. I'm sure that's where everyone else went." Zayne said seriously, holding tightly to the hilt of his sword.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtKlaus nodded as his ring sparkled brightly. In his hand appeared a vial of red liquid that he tossed to Zayne.
"Here you go. Looks like we'll have to speed up to help the students, however, in your current state that's going to be problematic." Klaus said quietly before heading forward.
Zayne quickly drank the potion, feeling his wounds immediately begin to heal, and tried with all his might to follow Klaus. With each step, he still felt a sharp pain that echoed in his bones, but he was also getting better.
'Hah, this guy is pretty determined, isn't he?' Klaus smirked, speeding up slightly, increasing the difficulty for Zayne, 'However... It's a bit sad that Traveler has already managed to get used to the pain of this world.'
...
Whoooooooooosh.
The monster with three blue eyes jumped on one of the students, bringing its long claws right down on the defenseless young man.
"No!" The student exclaimed with a face filled with fear as the monster's shadow fell upon him.
"I'm here!" The woman in the gray mantle exclaimed as a water projectile flew out of her black staff, crashing down on the monster and knocking it aside.
The woman struck the ground with her staff, and a blue magic circle appeared beneath the monster. At the same moment, the water remaining from the projectile turned into several sharp spikes, piercing the monster and causing it to leave this world forever.
"Roooaaaaaarrr!!!" The monster roared furiously, trying to escape its deadly captivity, but, it was only its last seconds of life.
"Are you okay?" The woman ran toward the young man with a worried expression, she had long brown hair and blue eyes.
The young man nodded, though his face was contorted in pain, "Mrs. Kaira, help the others better, thanks to you I am already safe."
Kaira nodded as she looked ahead. Next to the massive split rock, there were many students, they were hiding behind it and only a few particularly brave ones were trying to get out and help in the fight.
In front of the rock stood three silhouettes in long mantles and large hats on their heads. They used various spells, gradually driving away the horde of monsters that had attacked the students.
"Damn, this is bad..." Kaira muttered, looking at one teacher's face, it was pale as a sheet of paper with big bags under his eyes. He was using fire spells, burning several spiders alive each time.
'They are already at the limit of their powers... We have to nonstop use every spell we know, just to keep the monsters from breaking through... but... If we want to save the student we need to destroy them or drive them away...' Kaira pondered as she bit her lip down to blood.
Whoooooooooooosh.
Suddenly, many purple energy projectiles flew out of the forest, raining down on the monsters like missiles. Some of the monsters were killed instantly, though most were unharmed, causing the rest to retreat for a while.
"Mr. Solomon!" Kaira exclaimed cheerfully as an already lost gleam appeared in her eyes.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmOne of the teachers turned around, "Damn... How did Solomon get here? Wasn't he in Red Feather City?"
"Hah, it doesn't matter, what matters is that he came. Solomon always shows up when he's needed. What's more, look who's walking beside him." The man glanced at Rea, following Solomon, who was the one who made this attack.
"Don't relax!" The third man exclaimed sternly, casting a massive ice spike, "Mr. Solomon will need some time to prepare, we must not relax!"
The others looked at each other, nodded, and continued draining all the mana they had.
Solomon looked around, assessing the battlefield, then he turned to Kaira, "Mrs. Kaira, are these all the monsters that attacked you?"
Kaira nodded, "Yes. I don't know why it happened, usually in the daytime monsters don't come near the split rock, only one at a time, but this... This is a real nightmare."
Solomon turned to Rea, "Daughter, are you ready to help me deal with this mess?"
Rea looked at him puzzled, blinking, then the corners of her mouth went up, forming a happy smile.
"Sure! What do I have to do?" Rea asked with an excited expression.
Solomon grinned, "Just use that spell I taught you the other day. You won't have enough destructive power, but I'll take care of that, as long as you create the right form."
Rea's face became serious as she stepped forward and began muttering something in an unknown language, gradually a magical circle appeared before her, symbol after symbol, rune after rune.
It took some time as Rea used the longest but most reliable way, and soon the magic circle was complete. It flashed brightly, releasing purple strands of energy, gradually forming some sort of silhouette holding a massive bow in its hands.
Solomon smiled slightly, adjusted his hat, and said, "Well, now it's my turn. Good job."
