Zayne's eyes went wide at the sight of a human heart trapped in an icy cell.
"Wait... That's...!" Zayne exclaimed as he realized to whom that heart belonged, but, no sooner had he continued than the girl appeared right in front of him and put a finger to his lips.
"Hey, handsome, no need to shout. I shouldn't be here, but I just wanted to meet you too much." The girl smirked slyly, and tilted her head, revealing the moon tattoo on her neck.
Zayne immediately realized who she was.
"My name is Karin, nice to meet you Zayne Fellen." Karin smirked as she ran her hand down her neck, making the tattoo disappear.
"Why... Why did you kill that Oracle...?" Zayne muttered with trembling eyes.
Karin returned the ice cube to the ring, took a step back, and said, "If I hadn't, you'd be in big trouble, probably. You shouldn't mess with Order, especially since you have Chaos Energy in your body."
Zayne's got a chill on his back as his pupils narrowed, "Order... Who are they...?"
Karin headed for the exit, "All questions later, I just wanted to see you. If you want to talk, I'll wait in the misty forest, I'm sure you can find me."
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtKarin closed the door behind her as Zayne immediately ran outside. Not even three seconds had passed since she had left, but no matter how hard he looked, she was no longer there, all the passageways were empty.
[Moon Knight Encounter - Quest has been updated!]
[You encountered one of the Moon Knights! However, Karin has run away from you, so you need to find her using the clues she left you as well as coming from your ring!]
Zayne scratched the back of his head, he was puzzled and didn't know what to do in such a situation, moreover, Karin seemed eerie to him.
'Damn... Does everyone who got the Class have to go through this...? Fuck, she literally brought Oracle's heart here that she killed...' Zayne muttered inwardly with a complicated expression. He disapproved of the murder, but at the same time, he felt a strange gratitude for Karin, for she had taken care of him.
Zayne shook his head, 'Whatever, first I have to go to the Mirror Room and think about the tournament."
...
An hour later, Zayne was sitting on the Mirror Room floor with difficulty breathing. No matter how hard he tried, all he could achieve was a few extra seconds. He couldn't even scratch Enar, which put a lot of pressure on him.
Zayne sighed as he looked at his sword, "Well, I guess before the tournament I need to awaken the power inside you, don't I?"
...
For the next few days, Zayne hunted in the misty forest. He didn't go inland because he didn't want to face a scolopendra, so he fought spiders at its borders.
As he killed more and more opponents of the same type, he gained very little experience and could only increase his level to 61. However, experience wasn't the main goal for Zayne, he just needed to kill as many monsters as possible.
[Whispering Shadows
Progress: 780/999]
Whooooooooooosh
Zayne swung his sword, slicing another spider in two. Around him were dozens of corpses, covering the cold ground of the misty forest with blood.
"There's still a little bit left... Maybe I should go over there...?" Zayne muttered looking at a cave in the distance whose entrance was covered in cobwebs through which occasional shadows ran.
It was Spider Nest, one of the many that lay within the misty forest. Zayne hesitated to enter them as he saw no need to, but now he wanted to finish one thing.
'I need to meet with Karin, I need to find out what game I'm in and especially what Order is. However, I have to get stronger first.' Zayne pondered before stepping forward.
Seeing his silhouette, the shadows inside the cave stopped moving, for a moment they froze, then, several spiders simultaneously jumped on Zayne with their jaws ready to attack.
Zayne smirked, he put the hilt to his sword, and its blade lit up in blue flame and the temperature around it dropped dramatically.
'Even the first time I met you I could easily defeat you, so now you certainly can't do anything to me.' Zayne muttered inwardly before swinging his sword.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmTwo diagonal swings created a fiery cross that sliced the spiders apart, freezing them instantly as well as the walls of the cave.
Zayne walked on as suddenly he felt a shiver. He quickly jumped aside, then the spiders bodies exploded, scattering aside venom that easily burned through the ground.
[You defeated the Poison Mist Spider!]

[You got 900 Exp!]
'What...? Are those completely different spiders?' Zayne was puzzled, he stared in horror at the green liquid that, like lava, kept destroying everything in its path.
It might have been much harder than Zayne had anticipated, but he didn't go away. He was confident enough in himself as all he had to do was stay attentive and not let the poison touch him.
Zayne walked slowly away into the depths of the Spider Nest, not noticing a silhouette tracking him in the distance.
It was Karin, who was still wearing her maid's outfit, though clearly, she was not part of the Zexiton Academy.
"Well, well, someone decided to go out hunting instead of meeting me. It's pretty frustrating... I wonder what's on his mind. Looks like, unlike the others, he hasn't made up his mind yet.' Karin pondered with a sly smirk on her face.
Tremble. Tremble. Tremble.
A massive scolopendra crawled out of the ground as it continued to wander among the forest, looking for another victim and control of its territory. The scolopendra had no idea that anyone was looking at it as entertainment to get rid of boredom.
Karin jumped down from the tree, heading toward the scolopendra with a predatory look, while the ground around her was covered in a thin layer of ice, causing snowflakes to fall on her shoulders.
