Streams of wind from all over the city were headed to one point, blowing away everything in their path as if they had some important goal to fulfill that they were willing to go through any obstacles.
The common people, who were already quite frightened, shut themselves deep inside their houses without trying to go out because it was too dangerous outside. The wind had no purpose to hurt any of them, but if a simple man found himself in the middle of the road, something might fly at him.
The center of this incident, its catalyst, was Elein, who miraculously managed to escape Zayne's attack, which would surely have ended her life.
Elein breathed deeply, she was as bewildered as the others, but she realized that she had no time to investigate.
"Well... Looks like we're on equal footing now." Elein said calmly, unlike Zayne, her character, and voice had not changed at all, however, her eyes had become very different. They became as if a torrent of wind raged within them, endless and impetuous.
The reporter, who was still the only person here with a camera, was truly enthralled. He was horrified when he saw Zayne's change, however, he understood how important it was.
'Fuck... I know that in Fallen Fate Online each player has different skills, but it's nothing like that at all. At least it hasn't been in any news yet, this is definitely going to be a scoop!' The reporter exclaimed inwardly, with an excited expression.
Perhaps Alex or Luke would have noticed the reporter, even though he was trying to act stealthy, but their attention was focused on an entirely different thing. They were scrutinizing the wind samurai that was hovering over Elein.
"It looks dangerous, damned dangerous." Galahan muttered, "Not to sound pessimistic, but Zayne doesn't look like a winner here."
Alex nodded deeply, "Yeah, I agree. If Elein had been a little stronger she would have been able to resist Zayne even when he became so... Well, now she's used that unusual skill, too."
Alice with a thoughtful expression looked now at Elein and now at Zayne, she was trying to figure out how they had achieved such a thing.
"Hmm... How interesting... That bitch is already ahead of me, but I think we can soon find out how to achieve the same..." Alice said, in a serious tone.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtLuke sighed, "You think this is some kind of special skill? Among Titles sometimes there are Special Titles, it's probably something like that, right?"
Alex was wary as he narrowed his eyes.
"As far as I know, Zayne was fighting some kind of special wolf in the beginning. Players who witnessed his first fight in the village talked about it. Does this have something to do with it? Did he get the power of the wolf? How the hell does that work?"
"I doubt it." Alice snorted, "In that case, is Elein supposed to meet some kind of samurai at the beginning of the game? They're probably there in Fallen Fate Online, but definitely not in the starting points. I'm sure of it."
Each of them had a lot of experience in Fallen Fate compared to most of the other players. What's more, they had power, money, and access to a lot of information, ordinary people could never have had that. However, it wasn't enough for them to find the answer to their question.
"Well... I think we all understand that to find out what's going on here there's only one option, right?" Alex sighed, "Let's watch, but be ready to intervene as soon as the situation becomes deadly. We've already missed two of those moments since we didn't realize how serious it was, but now we shouldn't have any doubts.
Luke, Alice, and Galahan nodded. Elein's katana could easily have gone through Zayne's neck as well as his claws could have ripped her head off, it was great luck for all of them that these two were still alive.
Step. Step. Step.
Elein stepped forward slowly, she didn't know what she was capable of, this was the first time something like this had happened to her, but one thing was abundantly clear to her - she was much stronger.
'Hmm... If I attack now and use too much power, I could destroy the hospital, a wind-cutter, a damn dangerous skill.' Elein pondered, then she rushed to the side.
Zayne slowly turned his head, his gaze following her, it seemed that Elein had decided to run away, but in fact, she had decided to change the battlefield.
Gradually Elein's silhouette grew farther and farther away, Zayne needed to start chasing her right now if he wanted to catch up with her.
"Agh...? What's he doing?" The reporter's assistant muttered with his eyes wide open.
Zayne turned around to the hospital, he looked somewhere in the direction, at a certain point in the building where the room his sister was in was.
Zayne's main goal was to protect his sister and keep anyone from entering the hospital, so he didn't need to go after Elein. At least that was one option.
"Damn... She'll be back if I refuse her invitation, right?" Zayne muttered as his voice became more natural. For a moment his eyes returned to their blue color.
Then, a sly grin appeared on Zayne's face, revealing his sharp fangs, as his silhouette blurred.
He sprinted after Elein at breakneck speed, effortlessly catching up with her. He jumped across the roofs of buildings quickly and hard, leaving cracks in the stone surface with each step he took.
Elein turned around with a slight smile, then she was wary. Zayne was faster than she expected, and a faint crimson aura appeared around him that seemed to gradually become denser.
'Looks like I shouldn't prolong our fight. His skill definitely gives him strength and speed, in these aspects I am inferior to him that is for sure. However, I should have stronger firepower, right?' Elein planned her actions in the upcoming fight. Now this fight was not just a way to quench her interest, but a fight that could change her life.
Alex, Luke, Galahan, and Alice who remained in the car exchanged glances. They hadn't expected the fight to suddenly change direction drastically and they were obliged to follow them to help them.
"Fuck, looks like we'll have to leave the car here..." Alex took a deep breath, looking around.
Most of the roads around were damaged or obstructed by debris and various objects that the wind currents had brought with them. Under these conditions, Alex had no way to get through.
"Hah, in that case, let's not waste any time. Catch up!" Luke did not hesitate. He immediately ran forward, deftly passing all obstacles.
Luke's speed wasn't enough to catch up with Zayne, especially now, but he would make it before they had time to start fighting.
Alex warmed up, looked at Alice, and grinned, "How about a little race? Luke decided not to participate, but we're still here."
Alice arrogantly lifted her chin, leaving his question unanswered, then she ran as fast as she could.
"Agh... That was expected." Alex shook his head before following her.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmGalahan was the only one left. His stats weren't as high as those three, so he didn't even try to catch up.
"Well, hopefully, I can get there before it's over. Wouldn't want to miss such an event." Galahan scratched the back of his head, looked at the hospital, and chose the right path for himself.
Crackle.
The reporter clutched the phone tightly in his hand, as its screen crackled. He was immensely angry at the situation, and his eyes filled with anger.
"Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! What was that?!" The reporter exclaimed, slamming his fist against the wall, "Why did she decide to run away? Is she stupid?! There's no way I can catch up with them now!"
At the same moment, many helicopters headed for the nearest bridge. Each of them bore certain signs identifying them as belonging to a particular media outlet. All of them had already prepared to film what was going on.
"Shit... I ended up setting myself up, right?" The reporter muttered with a blank stare.
He was the one who had reported that Zayne Fellen was here, without that information Elein wouldn't have come here, but now he didn't even have a chance to watch them fight.
The aide looked at him, as he put his hand on his shoulder, "At least we got to see the start of the fight with our own eyes, didn't we?"
The reporter nodded with a slight smile and narrowed eyes. He still had a piece of the fight, so he had unique footage that the rest of the media didn't get.
...
Hundreds of cars were burning on the multi-lane bridge that collided with each other because a few Players had started the chaos. Earlier, one of Squad Alpha, Eagle, had rescued a woman who happened to be a survivor and the place was now completely deserted.
'Can you see them? A voice sounded in the earpiece.
"Yeah." Eagle nodded, "It's definitely Zayne Fellen and Elein Ferger, however, there's something wrong with them. They look strange, I doubt it's any kind of skill."
"Hmm? Describe it in more detail."
"Sure. As soon as I get more information." Eagle replied coldly, looking warily at Elein and Zayne while on the helicopter.
Suddenly, Zayne turned, staring with his crimson eyes directly at him, then he turned back to Elein. It was a brief stare, but it was enough to give Eagle the creeps.
