Chapter 1687
Estelle was a bit taken aback. Ever since the gossip about her hit the Internet yesterday, Yulia hadn’t called her and
yet had used a public relations to handle the affair.
She did trust Estelle, after all!
“Til call her to say thank you later!” Estelle said with a warm smile.
“No need, Yulia even created a group chat and added hundreds of people from the film crew. For every good word
someone says about you online, she sends them some money. Right now, everyone is too busy praising you online
to get paid!” Blythe chuckled.
So, everyone on the team was praising her just for Yulia’s money?
The thought made her want to laugh.
“I might not be able to return to the crew for a while. If anything comes up, we can discuss it online. You can call
me anytime if there’s an emergency.” Estelle instructed.

can come back once things are settled down.”
“Okay”
After ending the call, Estelle sorted out a few things Blythe had mentioned. There was a knock at the door.
Ms. Simmons stood outside, holding Kya in her arms. “Ms. Macclain,” she said, There’s something urgent at home
and I need to go back right away. Could you look after Kya for a while? I should be here in about two hours.”
“Estelle!” Kya’s big black eyes were fixed on her, a bright smile on her face.
“Of course!” Estelle replied with a light grin. She reached out to take Kya from her, “Go ahead to take care of your
business. Don’t rush it.”
“Thank you, thank you so much, Ms. Macclain!” Ms. Simmons thanked her profusely before hurrying away
Estelle carried Kya into the house. Kya looked around the room with interest, particularly drawn to Estelle’s design
drafts and markers. “Estelle, my mom likes drawing too!”
Estelle nodded with a smile, “That’s right. Estelle and your mom are both designers. We just design different
things.”
“I want to draw too.” Kya said excitedly.
“Alright, Estelle will teach you how to draw!” Estelle fetched a fresh piece of paper and handed Kya a thin drawing
pen.
Kya had learned to draw from Emily, so she was able to hold the pen with ease. Kya sat on the carpet, her chubby
little hands clutching the pen, diligently following Estelle’s drawing instructions.
Estelle taught her to draw some small animals. Kya was an earnest learner. Each time she completed a drawing
and saw Estelle’s approval, her face would light up with joy.
As they finished drawing a bird, Kya seemed to remember the “cuckoo”. She furrowed her tiny brows and asked
Estelle, “Estelle, am I not going to see Uncle Charlie anymore? Is he not coming to play with me?”
Estelle felt a sudden pang of sorrow. She reached out and gently touched Kya’s braids, “Uncle Charlie’s been a bit
busy recently. Maybe when he’s not so busy, he’ll come to see you.”
Kya’s eyes dimmed a bit. She lowered her head and continued drawing birds, her obedient demeanor tugging at

Estelle got up to fetch some ice cream from the kitchen, only to find she’d eaten it all.
“Kya, how about we go to the market to buy some ice cream?” Estelle suggested.
“Yay! Let’s go to the market!” Kya put down her pen and grinned at Estelle.
Estelle helped Kya put on a jacket and they headed to the market.

The grocery store was just across the street from their apartment complex, so Estelle didn’t drive. She held Kya’s
hand as they left the building
Kya was always excited to go outside. She hopped along, gripping Estelle’s hand.
As they left the complex, a man dressed in black and wearing earphones crossed the street with them. Estelle’s
eyes darkened, she bent down slightly and lifted Kya into her arms, following the crowd at a steady pace.
With Kya in her arms, Estelle walked towards the market. She noticed two more men, also wearing earphones,
following them from the left. Her expression didn’t change, but she quickened her pace slightly, maintaining a safe
distance from the men
