Chapter 1732
When they arrived, only Chad and his assistant were in the conference room. Chad stood up to greet Cedric, and
his eyes fleetingly sweeping over Emily with a hint of apprehension.
As soon as Emily sat down, the conference room’s door opened and Ron respectfully stood to the side, saying, “Mr.
James, please come in!”
All the people in the room stood up. Chad wore a polite smile, “Mr. James, Mr. Gavin, good afternoon!”
Charlie, composed and unassuming, took the central seat and didn’t show any signs of surprise, not even glancing
in Emily’s direction.
Gavin casually greeted Emily, “Emily, nice to see you again!”
Emily responded with a light smile, “Good afternoon, Mr. Gavin!”
Chad’s gaze flickered as he settled into his chair.
Sitting next to Charlie, Ron cheerfully said, “Designer Chad and Ms. Emily have put aside all their work to focus on
creating the design draft for the building. We initially planned to have Mr. Gavin review it first, but we didn’t expect

Charlie nodded indifferently, “Let’s take a look at the design draft first.”
“Of course,!” Ron eagerly agreed, turning to Chad and Emily, “Which one of you would like to present your design
first?”
Chad immediately volunteered, “I’ll go first!”
He stood up and projected his initial design draft on the screen, giving everyone an explanation.
As a senior designer, Chad had plenty of design experience. His design might not be dazzlingly innovative, but it was
difficult to find any obvious flaws.
He eloquently explained his design concept.
Charlie only glanced at it a couple of times before lowering his gaze to study the detailed plans in his hands.
Gavin also seemed somewhat bored, mainly because the design was too ordinary. Chad had added a few design
highlights, but overall, it didn’t leave a fresh and lasting impression.
Charlie’s phone suddenly rang. After a quick glance, he stood up and left the room to take the call.
Chad’s eyes followed Charlie’s retreating figure. After a brief pause, he continued with his presentation.
Charlie was on the phone for about half an hour. When he returned, Emily was the one presenting.
“The building is located next to Serenity Stream. From the third floor of the building, you can see the Serenity
Stream below. That’s why I’ve designed the main structure of the building to resemble a sailboat, like a ship floating
on the water. I want consumers entering this building to feel as if they are traveling across rivers and oceans,
exploring top luxury brands from around the world that are gathered here. It fully satisfies their needs for dining,
living, entertainment, and shopping!”
“Moreover, the sails of the sailboat are designed with a combination of metal and glass panels, which provide shade
from the sunlight corning from the south, casting patterns of cloud-shaped on the ground to offer consumers a
pleasant and comfortable experience.”
“Between the sails overlap and intertwine, guiding consumers to different areas of the building, giving them the
wonderful sensation as if they were standing among the clouds. With this unique feature, we can attract even more
consumers.”
Emily’s voice was clear and melodic, her enunciation precise and her pace steady, drawing everyone’s attention.
Charlie stood at the doorway, watching the girl’s back. She exuded confidence and a radiance he had never seen

It seemed as if she only reserved her brilliance when she was in his presence, deliberately minimizing her own
presence when she looked up to him.
Or perhaps, he had realized this about her and chose to let her go, allowing her to shine in her own way without his
influence.
When Emily finished, Gavin was the first to applaud, “Brilliant!”
Following Gavin, Ron and Cedric also applauded Emily’s presentation. Chad, with a complex expression, reluctantly
clapped a couple of times.
As Emily turned to face the room, she caught sight of Charlie standing at the door. She turned to look at him
subconsciously, her expression freezing slightly with a hint of nervousness.
Charlie furrowed his eyebrows slightly, wondering if he was that intimidating, to the point of making her change her
expression in an instant.
Gavin stood up and complimented her, “Emily, well done. At the very least, your design caught my attention!”
Emily nodded modestly, “This is just an initial idea and it may still need refinement. I hope to receive feedback from
everyone!”
