Chapter 1762
Half an hour later, Charlie arrived at the 9th Mansion. The moment he stepped in, his eyes narrowed at the sight of
Kya sitting next to Noreen.
Kya’s big eyes were filled with tears. She looked a bit aggrieved and a bit scared, but she didn’t say a word and sat
quietly.
“Charlie, long time no see.” Noreen stood up. Despite the years apart, seeing the tall and handsome figure of the
man still stirred ripples in her heart.
Charlie was full of doubts, but he kept a poker face. He nodded slightly and sat across from Noreen.
“What brings you here?”
Seeing Charlie’s attitude towards Kya, Noreen was even more certain of her guess. Charlie didn’t know about Kya.
Emily, that fool, had been hiding this from him.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtSuch a gold mine, and she didn’t seize it. She was an idiot.
But this also helped her.
With a soft and weak look on her face, Noreen looked at Charlie, “Charlie, these years, I’ve been having a tough
time outside. Could you let me come back? I won’t bother you when I come back. I just miss home.”
Charlie scoffed, “What do you think?”
Noreen put on a pitiful look, showed a hesitant expression, and then went straight to the point.
“Let me tell you, I was really pregnant back then. I was afraid that you would ask me to abort the baby, so I bribed
the doctor in advance to fool your subordinates that I was not pregnant.”
Charlie’s eyes flickered, his tone was cold, “You mean, you were pregnant with my child. Where is the child?”
“This is our child.” Noreen held Kya close to her and showed her to Charlie, “I’ve been raising Kya by myself abroad
for the past three years, but a child can’t always be without a father. So I brought her back.”
Charlie and Kya locked eyes and didn’t say anything.
The handsome face of Charlie was filled with mixed emotions, “Is she our child?”
“Yes.” Noreen’s tone was firm, “Her name is Kya, your biological daughter.”
Charlie’s heart skipped a beat. Many thoughts were swirling in his chest and he couldn’t grasp any of them. He
played along with her game and slowly asked, “So, what do you plan to do by bringing her back now?”
“To tell you the truth, I have a new boyfriend and we’re planning to get married. He doesn’t like Kya, so I brought
her back to you.” Noreen said awkwardly, “But I’ve raised Kya for two years. You should give me some
compensation.”
“How much?” Charlie asked.
“One million dollars.” Noreen originally wanted two million but she was nervous and halved the amount. She quickly
explained, “You know, it’s hardest to raise a child in the first couple of years. I’ve had a hard time raising Kya, this
isn’t much.”
Charlie nodded, “It’s not much, but why should I believe you? How can I make sure that Kya is my daughter?”
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmNoreen handed Charlie the things she brought, “Take a look at this.”
Charlie took the envelope with a sceptical look, opening it to find a paternity test report.
His eyes quickly skimmed through it, until he saw the final result, “Based on the DNA analysis results, it is suggested
that there may be a parent-child relationship between the person belonging to sample 1 (Charlie) and the person
belonging to sample 2.”
Charlie’s mind buzzed, and he forgot to breathe for a moment as he read the words on the paper. His heart
pounded in his chest.
He looked up at Noreen, “This paternity test is between me and Kya?”
Noreen nodded, “Absolutely true, I dare not deceive you.”
The hand holding the paternity report trembled slightly, and his scalp felt numb.
He was Kya’s father?
Kya was his biological daughter.
Emily’s child was his child, but when had they?
Noreen said, “This is a report from a regular testing institution. It has a stamp, you should believe it now.”
