Chapter 348
The Lamont family.
Henson used
last birthday wish to have Jonathan accompany him for a day, waiting for Saturday to take him to the
horse farm for horseback riding.
Jonathan and Charlie were going to talk about the intelligent robots project, so they invited him to
the horse farm as well.
After running around the horse farm, they returned to the villa. Jonathan and Charlie talked business
while Henson went fishing on his own.
After a while, Henson came over, “Uncle, can you give Ms. Macclain a call and ask if she’s available?”
He was so bored fishing alone that he almost fell asleep.
Jonathan sat under the sunshade, his sunglasses shielding his eyes, making him look even more
indifferent and cold. Hearing Henson’s words, he paused for a moment before replying, “Ms. Macclain

Charlie chuckled, “Since we’re here to accompany Henson, let’s play with him. We can continue talking
business when we get back.”
Jonathan nodded and got up to walk to the riverbank, asking Henson, “How many fish have you
caught? Is it enough for lunch?”
Henson snorted, “All the fish in the river today are male!”
“What?” Charlie didn’t understand. “Fish have genders?”
Only Jonathan understood Henson’s joke, which reminded him of Estelle and her mischievous, bright
smile. His heart skipped a beat, and his voice deepened, “Don’t talk nonsense, it’s clear that your
fishing skills are not up to par.”
“Why don’t you try it yourself, see if they’ll bite?” Henson mocked.
Henson sat in the chair, set up the bait, and cast the hook into the water, watching the sparkling water.
He couldn’t help but think of the last time in the woods when she bumped into his arms and smiled
coyly.
Fishing was supposed to be calming, but his heart was anything but peaceful.
In the afternoon, they left the horse farm, and Charlie went with them to the Lamont family.
In the study on the third floor, the two talked about work for a while. Jonathan’s phone on the desk
vibrated, and he went to answer it, while Charlie sat on the couch drinking coffee.
Putting down the coffee cup, Charlie got up and looked for a book to read in front of a row of floor-to-
ceiling bookshelves.
He reached up and pulled a book from the high shelf. A photo slipped out of the pages and fell onto the
carpet.
Jonathan glanced over as he was on the phone, his brow slightly furrowing.
“Whose photo did you hide?”

Charlie picked up the photo with a smile, taking a look before his grin faded.

Charlie glanced up and asked, “Is this a photo from when you were a mercenary?”
Jonathan stared at the computer and nodded slightly.
Charlie’s gaze continued to linger on the photo. He saw nine people in it, all wearing camouflage and
helmets, their faces painted beyond recognition.
Charlie chuckled, “Let me guess which one is you.”
He scanned the photo, landing on the tallest guy in the middle, laughing, “This tall one is you, right?
Your eyes are the same, but also different now.”
Jonathan looked at the computer and said quietly, “It’s been many years.”
Charlie asked again, “Is this short guy next to you also your teammate?”
Jonathan paused, his eyes darkened, and spoke slowly, “No, we went on a special mission that time,
which required absolute confidentiality. We formed a temporary team, each person handpicked
from different teams.”
Charlie nodded, “This kid looks quite young.”
“Yeah!” Jonathan said softly, “She’s a girl!”
