Chapter 397
Jonathan and Henson were playing baseball, while Estelle watched from the sidelines for a bit. She
noticed that Jonathan kept glancing at her now and then, so worried that Hensonwould catch on, she
didn’t dare watch anymore and went back to sit in the resting area.
She took out her phone and saw that there was still time, so she played sudoku for a bit.
The late summer sun was no longer scorching, but as it shone through the glass window, it still felt
blazing hot.
Jonathan played, occasionally catching Estelle’s glance. The afternoon sunlight fell on the girl,
enveloping her in a bright glow.
He could almost see the wisps of hair fluttering near her temples, her long and dark eyelashes, and her
flawless, rosy cheeks.
The light seemed to reflect into his heart, sweeping away all the shadows deep within.
Estelle played two rounds of sudoku, put down her phone, and got up to go to the bathroom.
Henson, who had been practicing with a private coach for an hour and then with Jonathan for over half

and laughed, “Not bad, you’re, improving!”
Henson replied with determination, “I’m aiming for the championship!”
Jonathan was in a good mood, so he encouraged him, “You got this!”
A message suddenly popped up on the phone next to them. Jonathan glanced at it and saw it was
Estelle’s phone. The screen was still on, and the message showed. Xavier: [Coming over tonight?]
Jonathan squinted at the screen and frowned, watching as his expression darkened.
Xavier?
When Estelle returned, Jonathan and Henson were still playing. Henson didn’t mind getting tired as he
was determined to win the championship, so he continued to train. Estelle picked up her phone and
saw the message from Xavier. Suddenly thinking about her appointment with Jonathan, her expression
softened.
[Can’t tonight, something came up. Won’t be able to join you for dinner.]
After eating Emily’s cooking, Estelle gave up learning to cook and either went to Emily’s for dinner or
stayed at Xavier’s.
Occasionally, Xavier would ask her if she’s coming so he could prepare a meal for three.
After replying to Xavier, Estelle continued playing sudoku, her eyes now light and happy.
Jonathan and Henson played another hour, and it started to get dark. They all gathered their things to
leave.
Outside the stadium, Millard and the driver were waiting for them in separate cars. Jonathan turned to
Henson without looking at Estelle, “I have something else to do. The driver can take you and Ms.
Macclain home.”
With that, he walked towards Millard’s car without even looking at Estelle.
Estelle felt a slight sinking feeling, sensing something was off with Jonathan’s attitude.
In the blink of an eye, Jonathan was in the car, which Millard drove away, and Henson called Estelle to
get in.
On the way, Henson chatted excitedly about how great his uncle was. If he could survive Jonathan,
beating other students would be a breeze.

The driver took Estelle back to the University of J City and then brought Henson home.
By the time they reached the university. Estelle said goodbye to Henson and walked slowly toward the
Royal Mansion.
The sun had set, and the daytime bustle was coming to an end.
Estelle returned home, took a shower, and changed clothes. She picked up her phone as soon as she
came out, but there were no new messay
Her clear eyes were silent and cold as she stood on the balcony, staring as the streetlights began to
illuminate the street. The sky, tinged with a bluish-gray coldness, enhanced the sense of desolation.
Suddenly, her mood became disinterested.
Not hungry and having already informed Xavier she wouldn’t be joining him for dinner, she didn’t want
to go to Emily’s either, so she just cooked something for herself.
At eight o’clock, Jonathan called the driver and asked where he had dropped off Estelle.
The driver respectfully replied that she got off at the entrance of the University of J City.
Jonathan hung up the phone and dialed Nate, “Look into someone named Xavier.”
Nate immediately agreed
