As soon as he entered the Space World, he wasted no time to head to the closest Spatial Gate from him and arrived in a grass plain.
The scorching orange sunlight warmed their body, the breeze swayed their hair, and the tall grasses hid half of their body. Alex and Nelson immediately bent down their body instinctively. The group instantly realized and fell to their knees, using the tall grass as their cover.
Nelson appeared beside him and asked. "Master. I am going first."
"Wait a minute. I will check our surroundings with my Spirit Eyes." Alex activated his Spirit Eyes, scanning all four directions. "We are safe for the time being. You go and search for a settlement nearby and check their number. After killing them, we might use their place as our base."
"Understood. It shouldn't take too long if the world isn't that big." Nelson nodded and disappeared.
Alex then waited with the other spirits until Nelson came back.
Ten minutes later, Nelson returned with a serious expression. "The situation is not too good. There are around one hundred and twenty people inside the first settlement I have found. All of them are Dark Elves in your memory. Now that I think about it, Space Monster doesn't necessarily categorize as a Space Element user, right?"
Alex shook his head. "They are just like normal monsters, having their own respective elements. However, they are comfortable living inside the Space World and feel like living in hell when they stay in the real world. This difference classifies them as a Space Monster. Assuming that they couldn't use Spatial Gates like this, the parent monster is the one who has created these Spatial Gates. That's why I even offer to fight it first."
Nelson thought for a moment. "In this case, our situation might not be as bad as I thought. I was worried at first since there were fifty thousand Space Element monsters that we needed to fight. If it's like this, they won't stand a chance. After all, we are fighting on equal terms here."
"That's why I am confident that we can finish this one as soon as possible. Just make sure you remember their characteristics. If everything is aligned with the information from the illusion I saw in the Potential Tower, we will proceed with caution." Alex added.
"Yes. The only problem is they are staying in a forest with giant trees, making the place a bit dark. Considering their elements and attack patterns from your memory, I believe we should lure them to this place where they have nowhere to hide." Nelson suggested after careful consideration.
"That's a good idea. I will leave it to you." Alex nodded.
"Yes." Nelson then disappeared again.
He went toward the first settlement inside the forest, searching for a route that he could exploit. "I still have my True Spirit Body, and with this dark environment, my strength increases. I should be able to kill a few of them before luring them to Master."
Taking a deep breath, Nelson arrived at a certain house with two 5-Star Martial Monarchs inside. Nelson took another look at their appearance. Purple skin, white hair, daggers on the waist and bows hung on their wall.
'I should test their strength first and see how good is their assassination skill.'
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt"&%(&$(!" The female dark elf let out a voice.
The male became confused and answered her with a gesture.
Nelson furrowed his eyebrows as he couldn't understand what they said. 'As expected from a monster. Despite having a colony, they can't seem to talk.'
He summoned his sword and emerged right below them, waving his sword toward their throats.
The two Dark Elves managed to react and pulled out the dagger, blocking Nelson's sword. Albeit, this was the time where Nelson showed his prowess. The dark energy gushed out of his body and enveloped his sword as he revealed his real strength.
"!!!" Shock ran through their heart and face. Unfortunately, they couldn't do anything like the moment they realized, their head already turned around, flying in the air.
Nelson slashed his sword again, blowing away the blood that stuck in his sword.
'Their reaction is good even though it's the perfect ambush. Unfortunately, they are coming from a planet full of monsters to the point they are classified as monsters themselves instead of a race. I heard there are worlds that have a race like them… They can't stay inside the Space World though. Anyway, I will simply lure them and confront them head-on since their strength isn't that great in a direct confrontation.' Nelson thought and disappeared again.
He realized all of that in that single exchange. Although they managed to block his sword, they didn't have the strength to back it up. At most they used that chance to retreat, thus the reason why Nelson killed them instantly. On the other hand, he noticed that the group seemed weaker than he expected, with strength mostly in 3-Star Martial Monarch.
Taking another deep breath, he continued his path and killed another ten Dark Elves, severing their heads for his use.
After that, Nelson brought all those heads and roared, alarming every single Dark Elf inside this settlement. Their villages consisted of many tree houses, not connected with each other, even though they should have lived here for a few thousand years.
Hearing the sudden roar, all of them came out, finding Nelson on top of the building. He threw the heads to the air and slashed them into pieces before pointing at the strongest person in this settlement.
"&$&*($!" The leader seemed to give them an instruction and glared at Nelson as if he wanted to kill her. He pulled his bow and aimed at Nelson.
On the other hand, Nelson simply shrugged and left the city.
The leader, obviously, pursued him like crazy with their entire population. "Master! I am bringing them here."
Alex widened his eyes and stood up. His group knew what to do and followed him, looking at Nelson, who appeared from the horizon and bringing more than a hundred Dark Elves.
"This is our great opportunity. Use this chance and deal with a strike they wouldn't ever be able to recover. After that, I will lead the group." Alex ordered Anya while taking his sword out. He made sure that no one escaped with his Spirit Eyes.
The moment they entered the attack range, Nelson immediately turned around and raised his hand, creating a black fog. The people thought it was going to be used as a smokescreen to escape, but four shadows emerged from within the smoke, slashing their weapons.
"Heaven Light Slash."
"Thunder Spirit Slash."
"Cross Lightning Slash."
"Heroic Slash."
Alex, Leoz, Jeanne, and Artur released their attacks, killing ten people at the same time. Greg raised his shield and created a spherical barrier, trapping them inside.
Jean then made his move. Torrential water circled around the barrier, rising higher and higher until it enveloped the entire barrier. Spikes started coming out of the water. With this combination, there was no way that the Dark Elves could escape.
Meanwhile, Anya was smiling behind everyone as she had done everything she could, including increasing the group's strength.
After that, Anna summoned her butterflies, Nelson turned around and began assassinating them one by one, Fabio and Vera also began their combination attack while Sherry, Stina, and Kyle began their omnidirectional attack, creating chaos so the group could take advantage of it.
Seeing this, Firia didn't want to lose and flew to Alex, requesting his Pure Fire.
"Flames of Dawn!"
The fireball shot out many flames, raining around ten of them for each enemy, burning them into ashes.
Within those attacks, Alex realized that none of the Dark Elves were still alive. It was true that the combination attacks were successful, killing them in a minute. However, he couldn't say he was happy about it. First, there wasn't a single strong enemy. Their strongest person was only a 7-Star Martial Monarch.
At the same time, he and his group consumed a considerable amount of Spiritual Energy.
Alex let out a long sigh. "I know that you guys are excited… But you shouldn't waste Spiritual Energy like that. From what I see, only me, Sherry, Stina, Kyle, Anya, and Nelson didn't use too much energy…"
"!!!" The group suddenly realized after Alex told them. They felt thrilled with Alex's condition, so they subconsciously wanted to make sure the first battle together went very well, albeit it seemed the battle was a bit unsatisfactory for him.
Anya walked toward him and smiled gently. "They were too excited because of you. Well, I will be reprimanding them, so we can continue our progress now."
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmAlex stared at her eyes and sighed. "Nelson."
"Yes. I will search for another one." Nelson nodded and disappeared.
He looked at the corpses on the ground with complicated emotions. These Dark Elves were killed before they could say anything. Although it was also the fact that his strength was far above them and there weren't that many Dark Elves at once, he still felt that these one hundred monsters should be able to fight them for a few minutes.
He was wondering whether he overestimated them or not. Alex didn't know the answer yet, so his guard remained up, not wanting to let the enemies catch him off guard. With that resolve in mind, he began his killing spree.
…
A few fights later, Alex realized that the first group was composed of weaklings. They lived in the border that had less Spiritual Energy. When he ventured deeper and deeper inside their territory, he realized that their average cultivation base got stronger and stronger until their weakest one became a 6-Star Martial Saint, with the strongest reached as high as 1-Star Martial Saint.
This was a surprise for Alex. Luckily, there were around two hundred left Dark Elves left inside the Spatial gate. If not, Alex might have a problem dealing with this situation, albeit it was still not good for him.
Nelson returned with a grim expression.
There wasn't an important fight before this, but looking at Nelson's expression, he suddenly felt something bad. "Nelson… How is the next settlement?"
"If I estimate the number of each Spatial Gate, I believe the next settlement is the last one." Nelson sweatdropped.
"What do you mean? Shouldn't it be the second last?" Alex frowned before realizing his meaning. "Unless…"
"Yes." Nelson nodded. "It has the size of two settlements. I have a rough estimate of their number, but It's quite high; around two hundred fifty people inside. And I have found their leader; a 2-Star Martial Saint. I believe this won't be an easy battle for us, especially since I know that this leader seems to be an intelligent one."
Alex's expression darkened as he asked Anya to come up with a plan.
"Do you think it's possible to assassinate them? We have been killing them with our True Spirit Body, making our progress go smoothly… But the moment our True Spirit Body is gone, I am afraid it won't be that easy anymore. Even those people in the first settlement might need around an hour to solve." Anya closed her eyes, falling into deep thought.
"That's a good idea. Do you think you can assassinate the leader? I also can use my Space Element as one of the assassins. As for the rest… I don't think any of them are good for assassination."
"I am afraid I can't assassinate that Dark Elf. They had a good reaction time for something like this, and I am also a 2-Star Martial Saint like her. If we want to assassinate people, it's better to go for the low-level ones. Of course, this will only be effective for a while…" Nelson shook his head in disappointment.
"I see. I and Nelson will assassinate as many people as possible until we are found out. After that, we will lure them toward the grassland nearby and kill them in one fell swoop. There might be a big battle for this, but we will do the usual."
"That's the only way I guess." Anya sighed.
"You inform the others then." Alex nodded before looking at Nelson.
Nelson nodded and led him inside the village.
