Girl Get Ride 103

Chapter 103

Joshua smirked, “Are you threatening me? Do you really think you can do that?”

Back in high school, Sue had said she had a crush on him, and he had turned her down, politely but firmly.

However, she clung to him like a shadow, always a step behind. Her relentless pursuit was the talk of the school,

and it got to a point where he was so fed up that he pulled sstrings to get her transferred to another school.

He finally had peace.

But that peace was short-lived. When he started college, there she was again. Somehow, she had found out

about his enrollment at Lakeside College and followed suit. Every day, she was trailing him to classes with

breakfast and showering him with love letters and gifts. Once again, Sue becinfamous on campus for her

devotion to him.

Sue's tears flowed as she pleaded. “Joshua, do you really not care aboutat all? How can you be so cold? Is

my life worth less than an engagement party?"

Joshua's response was as frigid as a winter breeze, his voice devoid of warmth. "That might work on other guys,

but not on me."

Sue tried to continue, but Joshua cut her off, ending the call abruptly. He knew he had to find her quickly, not

because he cared, but to prevent her from crashing the engagement party. If she were to do something drastic,

like hurt herself at his and Allie's event, it would be a disaster. A tragedy on such a day would haunt Allie and

potentially end their plans for marriage.

In a room, Sue stood there stunned for a moment. Joshua hung up on her and she hurled her phone against the

wall. She erupted into a storm, flinging objects around as if trying to cast out her frustration.

Lillian watched her tantrum with icy detachment. "Losing your cool like this won't help."

Once her fury subsided, Sue collapsed onto the floor, murmuring to herself in despair, “He really doesn't care if |

live or die. How can he not care?"

Lillian chuckled, a mocking glint in her eyes, as she casually lit a cigarette. Just then, a knock interrupted

them.

One of Lillian's bodyguards opened the door. "Ms. Lillian, we couldn't get the woman; she's got security. But we

nabbed a smaller fish," the brawny guard said, holding Lizzy like she weighed nothing.

Lizzy's hands were tied behind her back, her legs flailing in panic. Black tape covered her mouth, and her eyes

were wide with fear.

Lillian took a slow drag from her cigarette, releasing a smoke ring, and muttered, “Useless."

The bodyguard stood silent, his head bowed.

Checking her watch, Lillian said, "It's time. Let's move."

She stood up, towering over the sobbing Sue, her eyes narrowing with disdain. Her smile was chilling, more

sinister than comforting.

“Sue, you'd better get it together and stick to our plan. If you mess this up, | won't spend a cent for your dad's

medical bills!"

Then, Lillian turned on her heel and walked away, leaving Sue to gather herself. Sue wiped her tears, got to her

feet, and followed, a lost look in her eyes.

With just twenty minutes to go before the engagement party, Lizzy was nowhere to be found.

Linda was frantic, tears threatening to spill over. "We were chatting in the lounge when Lizzy said she wanted
