Chapter 205

Across the street, not too far from the curb, the sleek black Aston Martin sat with its window halfway down. In the

backseat, Chris's eyes twinkled with a mischievous glint as he smirked. "Is she Joshua's girl?" he asked.

Beside him, Leo nodded. "Yeah."

Chris smirked again. "She's got sserious luck on her side."

"Those two guys with her Gotta be the bodyguards Joshua set up," Leo added.

Chris, intrigued, remarked, "She's a knockout, no wonder Joshua's got her on a pedestal."

Leo chuckled. "That lady's the only chink in Joshua's armor."

Chris's eyes clouded with darker thoughts as he looked away. "Joshua messed up my plans. | owe him a little

payback."

The project had drained him of tand money, only for Joshua to ruin it at the last minute, leading to heavy

losses that almost wiped him out. This score, he was determined to settle.

Allison, huh? Let's see if your luck holds up this time.

At the police station, Allison made a quick phone call. Within minutes, the officer handling her case got a call

from his superior. After he hung up, his demeanor shifted to one of respect. "Ms. Allison, we've officially opened

an investigation for attempted murder based on your report. You can leave for now. We'll update you as soon as

we have new information."

Allison nodded. "Thank you."

Outside, her phone buzzed with a call from an unknown number. The voice on the other end was anything but

friendly. "I hear you're taking on London's case and are going to arbitrate against us?"

Allison frowned slightly. "That's right."

"Ms. Allison, do you have tto drop by for a chat?" The man's voice dripped with disdain.

"And you are?"

The man chuckled, "Blake. | own London's former company."

Allison knew the nwell. She needed the company's registration info for the

arbitration, and Blake was listed as the legal representative.

"What do you want to talk about?" she asked coolly.

"How about settling this privately? No need for labor arbitration to waste everyone's time."

"Fine, givean address."

Blake rattled off an address, which was a business club about ten miles away.

After hanging up, Allison drummed

her fingers on the steering wheel a habit when deep in thought. She sensed something was off and couldn't

afford to let her guard down.

Suspecting Blake's intentions, she called in her bodyguards. In sync, they asked, "Allison, what's the plan?"

"You're coming with me. | have a feeling things might get dicey," she replied.

"Got it."

Inside a private room at the club, a lean guy a black leather jacket

with a buzz cut, lounged on the sofa, sipping his drink leisurely. Four

henchmen stood on either side.

Blake's eyes were cold. "When she walks in, make sure she doesn't walk out

smiling. Don't sweat it; we've got cover from above."

The henchmen nodded. "You got it!"

Allison, dressed sharply in a light gray suit and black heels, approached the

private room. Her bodyguards opened the door for her.

Before she could step in, four men

lunged at her, each wielding a

weapon. Reacting swiftly, Allison stepped back, while her quick-eyed, skilled bodyguards moved in, taking them

down with precision

Amidst the groans of Blake's men, Allison stepped forward and locked eyes with a now-terrified Blake. She

smirked coldly. "Is this your idea of a settlement?"

Blake, now sporting a swollen face, was lost for words.

With arms crossed, Allison stood over him, her eyes icy and dangerous. "Was it

you who sent someone to shoveat the curb earlier?"
