Chapter 211

Outside the emergency room, Linda was sobbing uncontrollably, her eyes red and swollen from crying.

"Linda, what's happening to my dad?" Allison asked, her face filled with anxiety.

Wiping away her tears, Linda explained, "He said he was going to the hallway for a smoke. When he didn't come

back after a while, | went to check on him... and... | found him unconscious on the floor, a pool of blood under his

head..."

"How could this happen..." Allison murmured, her eyes vacant and lost.

"Allie, your dad just went for a smoke. How could he have slipped? He's not at the age where he can't see where

he's going..." Linda's words hit Allison like a ton of bricks.

It had to be Chris. It just had to be!

This lunatic couldn't get to the Fisher family or find her, so he targeted the people around her, hoping to draw

her out.

Allison's lips trembled with anger, her fury reaching a boiling point.

Why? Why did Chris keep hurting her family? First Lizzy, and now her dad.

Clenching her fists, her nails dug painfully into her palms. In that moment, reason was swept away by a tidal

wave of anger. She was a lawyer who knew the law inside out, but all she wanted now was murder!

‘Chris. I've got your name."

Javier was stabilized and moved to a regular room.

Outside his private hospital room, two bodyguards stood watch by the door.

Linda walked up with a thermos in hand, looking puzzled, "Who are you?" Allison opened the door from inside.

"Linda, | don't think my dad's fall was an accident. Joshua sent these bodyguards to protect him."

Linda furrowed her brow, "What are you saying, Allie?"

"Cin, I'll explain everything."

Ten minutes later, Linda's expression was filled with dread, her eyes brimming with worry. "So the Fisher family's

illegitimate son is targeting your dad to force you out?"

Allison nodded solemnly.

"You all need to be careful. Linda, you should have a bodyguard when you go out, and Lizzy should stay at home

for a while. The last tLizzy was kidnapped, it was by Chris's men."

"Alright." Linda was still visibly shaken. "I'll hire a tutor for Lizzy."

"The tutor must be reliable, and their background thoroughly checked. I'm worried they'll send someone

pretending to be a tutor to get to you and Lizzy."

"I'll hire the one we've used before."

"Thank you." Allison rubbed her temples, exhausted. "How's Lizzy doing? Was she scared yesterday?"

Linda shook her head. "We didn't tell Lizzy. Your dad's incident happened after the birthday party ended. | told

Lizzy he had to leave early for something."

"Good. I'll have Joshua assign sskilled bodyguards to protect you and Lizzy." "Alright."

The next afternoon, Joshua finally found tto visit the hospital.

Linda was at Javier's bedside, helping him with his medication. Allison sat on the sofa, a laptop and case files

spread out on the coffee table in front of her, working while keeping Javier company.

Joshua entered, followed by his assistant John, who placed an array of nutritional supplements and fruit baskets

on a side table.

"I'm sorry, Javier," Joshua apologized. "I was busy tracking down the culprit and couldn't csooner."

Javier acknowledged with a grunt.

Allison looked up from her computer. "Did you find the suspect?"

"We did."

Allison's eyes blazed with determination. "Where?"

"They've been handed over to the police, but Chris has managed to keep his hands clean. For now, we

can only apprehend the perpetrator. There's no way to arrest Chris just yet."
