Chapter 243
The next morning, Allison groggily opened her eyes, feeling the pounding
headache of a hangover immediately hit her. She looked down at her pajamas, momentarily bewildered. How did
she get hlast night? Who had changed her clothes?
The last she remembered was going out for drinks with Sabrina, who had dragged her along to check out some
male dancers. Allison wasn't much of a drinker, and it hadn't taken long before she was completely sloshed. She
had a hazy memory of spotting Joshua — but was that just the booze playing tricks on her?
Fumbling under her pillow, she grabbed her phone and dialed Sabrina's number. It rang twice before someone
picked up.
"Hello?"
Allison paused, confused. "Brian? Why are you answering? Where's Sabrina?"

Brian snapped to attention at the sound of her voice. Just moments ago, he'd been comfortably asleep cuddling
with Sabrina. The phone's ringtone had woken him, and in his sleepy haze, he'd instinctively answered, thinking
it was his own.
Realizing his mistake, he quickly cup with an excuse. "Sabrina left her phone downstairs last night. She's
still asleep upstairs. Do you need something from her?"
He couldn't let Allison find out about him and Sabrina just yet. He wasn't concerned about gossip for himself— at
worst, it would be seen as a harmless fling. But Sabrina would face harsh judgment, labeled shameless for
getting involved with her step-brother. Gossip could be brutal for a woman.
Allison didn't suspect a thing, simply saying, "Oh, okay. Just have her callwhen she wakes up."
Relieved, Brian replied, "Will do."
He hung up and turned to Sabrina. "You're awake?"
Sabrina, still groggy, managed a sleepy nod, her eyes barely open. Her just- woken voice was soft and sweet,
enough to stir something in Brian. Leaning in, he kissed her. "How about a round two, darling?" Sabrina snapped
awake, pulling the covers up defensively. "Get off!"
Brian was warm, a teasing
smile on his lips. "Do you
how irresistible you look441
now?"
Sabrina clutched the blanket tightly, her voice shaky. "Brian... let's not rush into anything. We drank too much
fast night. We're adults. We can pretend nothing happened and go back to being siblings."
Brian chuckled, raising an eyebrow. "I wasn't drunk last night. | knew exactly what
| was doing."
Sabrina's eyes widened in shock.

Brian continued calmly, “I've known how | feel about you for a while now. I've just kept it under wraps. But whent
saw you cozy up to that male dancer last night, | couldn't keep it in anymore."
Sabrina was incredulous. "You've been intothis whole time?"
Brian nodded.
"Since when?"
"I'm not sure exactly. It just happened over time, | guess."
Sabrina bit her lip. "But I'm... I'm not ready."
Brian gently touched her face, his voice soft. "Do you like me, Sabrina? As more than a brother?"
"No!" Sabrina denied quickly.
Brian laughed quietly and kissed her again. "That's okay. We've got tto let it grow."
His emphasis left Sabrina blushing fiercely.
And with that, they indulged themselves once more.
