Grandma Emily's voice sliced through the air like a knife, sharp and no-nonsense. "Don't think | don't know you

set up that phone call. Cut the act. You're staying for dinner tonight!"

Joshua stood his ground, meeting her gaze with a calm resolve. "Alright, no more pretending."

He turned to Faith, his tone cool and detached. "Hi, I'm Joshua. Sorry, but I'm not into blind dates. This whole

setup was a surprise to me, and I'm not looking to date or get married anytsoon. So, please don't waste your

ton me."

Faith's face turned as pale as a sheet.

Ignoring the chaos he left behind, Joshua walked off without a backward glance.

"Joshua, stop right there!" Grandma Emily yelled, frustration dripping from every word.

But Joshua didn't even slow down, vanishing from their sight in no time.

The Walsh family was fuming.

Mr. Walsh, chest heaving with anger, spat out, "No matter how influential the Fisher family is, you can't treat

Grandma Emily was just as annoyed, her earlier calm completely shattered.

Her daughter-in-law, Haley, stepped in, trying to smooth things over. "Joshua was definitely out of line. We're

really sorry. Please, don't be upset."

The Walsh family was in an uproar, voices clashing until Grandma Emily offered a hefty compensation to calm

things down.

stressing? Joshua knows what he's doing. still think he and the Owens girl are a good match. Once he sorts out

Chris's issues, it's best if he can patch things up with her."

Grandma Emily shook her head. "No, | don't like that Owens girl. She's a lawyer, always quick with a comeback,

and she's been disrespectful toseveral times. Does she even seeas an elder?"

Mr. Fisher gave her a sidelong glance. "Why are you, as an elder, arguing with the younger generation?"

Grandma Emily continued her chatter, trying to make her case.

Mr. Fisher, tired of her complaints and unable to shoo her away, simply got up and
