Kritz got to his feet, his hands behind him. "Lord Hisha is pleased with your meal, as you can see, he will be taking his leave now."
[You seem to have forgotten your words to Wae about the feast... something about how you would feel about it and its effect on Wae. Let's not forget about the little trick you pulled earlier]
'Oh!'
"Thank you, Kritz." Hisha smiled, patting him on the shoulder.
Responding with a nod, Kritz moved to his side, alert and ready.
"You passed this arguably well, it was entertaining, to say the least." Hisha led on with a nod.
Wae covered his nervousness with a chuckle and a nod of appreciation.
"I hope to get more invitations like this." Hisha continued with a thumbs up.
Opening a portal and letting his words sink in before stepping in with Kritz and the maid following behind.
Zwwp!
The guests and the tribal chiefs blinked several times at what had transpired and there was a brief silence before Vanas spoke up first.
"You are stupid, Wae!"
Wae slammed his palm on the table, closing his eyes and gritting his teeth. "Get the fuck out, I need to be alone with my fellow tribal heads!"
Hurrying out of their seats, some swipe some food from the bowls and trays.
"Halt!" He snapped loudly, opening his eyes.
They all stood frozen in shock, unable to run even if they wanted to when the replaced guards stationed at the door blocked the exit with their spears crossed over one another.
Letting out a sigh and pinching the bridge of his nose, Wae shook his head in disappointment at what he was about to do to keep his accountability in check.
"You are allowed to take as much food as you can, but..."
They all stared at him in shock, almost certain this was nothing but an illusion that they needed to get out of.
"... you must give any of the Lycans outside of my fortress a portion of what you take and mention your status and name."
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtThey all frowned in confusion, wondering why they needed to go through that stress to let some random Lycan have a little share of what they had gotten.
"If you don't comply, consider your status and privilege that comes with it, stripped!" He threatened.
"I will inspect to verify if any of you had done as I instructed!" He continued, glaring at every one of them.
Gulp!
Getting the memo, they nodded their heads and rushed to get what they could and give out what they could.
Draegul narrowed his eyes at Wae, sensing something had changed in the usual tyrannical chief of Winst.
Not one with a lot of words, he waited it out for the others to comment on what he had noticed.
As soon as the guests were let out, Wae dismissed his guards for added privacy with the other tribal chief.
"Vanas, as much as I respect you, you need not trifle with my patience and calm demeanor!" He countered through gritted teeth.
Scoffing at the boneless threat, Vanas leaned with his elbows on the table with a growing grin.
"Why do I have a feeling your mindset changed once you met with lord Hisha?" Vanas mocked with a grin.
Wae closed his eyes, not ready to be edged on by Vanas.
'It's how he is, don't get swayed by his words.'
Mich could almost get what had transpired but was more than curious to know how their lord could use what they were lacking against them.
'I'm glad I'm not the only one who would suffer this!'
A creepy smile made its way to his lips at the thought of what was used to trick Wae into signing the contract, but also not courageous enough to spill the beans on his flaws.
"What are you smiling on, fish brain?"
"Shut the fuck up, Vanas!" Mich unintentionally blurted out.
The other four tribal heads were quieter than they ever were and would only speak or grunt when spoken to.
"Why can't you be like Draegul?!" He pointed at a growling Draegul at the sign of a threat to him.
Dropping his finger, he gulped and facepalmed, shaking his head at how their plans were crumbling.
'How are we meant to bring down the overlord if he has two of us wrapped around his fingers?' He wondered.
"I would not tolerate you disrespecting me in my territory!" Wae barked at Vanas, stunning the latter.
Clap!
Clap!
"Remember where you stand in the hierarchy!" Vanas hissed, his red eyes glowing with murderous intent.
For a brief second, Mich preferred Vanas' childish and annoying side to his dangerous switch with red Sux seething off of him as he glared at Wae.
"Bullshit!" Wae spat. "As far as I'm concerned, we are all in on this and if you care about that, then you're a bigger fool than I had imagined."
Getting to his feet Aster raised his labrys and brought it down on the stone table.
Mich and the rest of the tribal chiefs jumped off their seats in disbelief at what Aster had done.
The stone table was cut perfectly into two.
Being the tribal chief of the minotaurs, he wore iron armor, much like a corset, over his bulky and scarred body, iron rings around his arms, a red piece of cloth from his waist to his feet, split into two sections on his sides.
Around each ankle is an iron ring with a linked chain. His black horns and mane of wild stood out just like Draegul had with his distinctive features.
Boom!
Boom!
The crash caused the guards to burst in to check on the damage that had been caused.
"It's alright, leave us!" Wae commanded.
Reluctantly, the guards backed up and closed the door behind them.
Aster made a grunt in satisfaction, his black sclera and red pupils having a half glint of mischief. Combing his hand through his white hair he spat to the side.
"You all are fools if this is how you handle the situation!" Aster barked, swinging his labrys carelessly which the others had to carefully dodge to avoid getting hit.
'I take back my words, that's three tribal heads who are quiet.' Mich made a mental note, facepalming at being considered a fool.
Wae had his claws barred, angered by the fact his precious table was ruined in such a manner.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm"You've got some nerve destroying my table." He growled at Aster.
Scoffing and rolling his eyes, Aster shook his head. "It's nothing but stone anyways, not some Magae that your tribe holds so dear! Suck it up, Wae."
Draegul shook his head in disappointment, raising his hand to the surprise of everyone.
"Can I speak?" He calmly responded, shocking everyone to submission and a chilly silence followed.
"None of us can dispute that, Draegul." Wae hid his nervousness with a chuckle, urging him to speak.
Draegul had blue fire cover his clawed index finger, making a swirl of it as though playing it out as he watched it grow dramatically and embers coming off it before he made a clench.
"As much as I am curious as some of you are on the new development of our lord, it would be stupid to lose the sense of the bigger plans we had set all these while." Draegul's chilly voice made them all watch him, unable to speak until he was done.
"A fight between any one of us is just what would be the downfall of any who gets their true motive clouded by these petty things."
'Easy for you to say, I can't even plot anything without having to worry about the pain and my lifespan at risk.' Mich deadpanned.
Leaning on the wall, he clarified. "I wouldn't want to be forced to use my abilities on any of you before you see reason on what is of greater priority."
"Do you see this, this is the reason why he's at the top of our hierarchy!" Vanas praised, looking at the others in disgust while shaking his head.
"Shut up! Don't act all high if you also had it in mind to challenge me with your bullshit words." Wae snapped.
Draegul shook his head and took a step back to look through the window. It was pointless trying to speak with them without using a bit of violence.
He watched as some of the Lycans stood outside the metal gates of Wae's fortress.
"I think you'd be interested in what's going on outside." He beckoned Wae to have a look through the window.
