Chapter 700
Agnes was standing right there.
She realized a long time ago, actually.
Kearney’s feelings for Phenix seemed to be more complicated than they appeared.
Phenix was friendly to everyone. Yet, she seemed to deliberately keep her distance from Kearney. And when
Kearney looked at Phenix, there was a sense of restrained affection in his eyes.
In three months. Phenix and their eldest brother Sean were to be married in Bali.
There seemed to be many stories in it that Agnes didn’t know about.
Agnes had never asked, but she knew that Phenix, Sean, and Kearney were adopted together by Reggie and grew
up together.
Their bond was profoundly deep.
Even if there were some unknown emotional entanglements, Agnes couldn’t understand them.

Kearney went up to the rooftop to smoke.
This place was called The Aeolus Tower.
A spacious vintage platform, on the east side of Pegasus Plaza.
Also, the tallest place apart from Pegasus Plaza.
Standing there, you could see all the pavilions, towers, and mansions of Eden Nights.
You could also see the mountains and lakes to the north.
When you looked up, you felt incredibly close to the night sky, as if you could pluck the stars from the horizon.
Kearney was smoking, and Agnes walked over, calling out, “Kearney.”
Kearney snapped back to reality. “How’s your situation?”
Kearney was aware of many things about Agnes.
Including the previous investigation of Vernon, Kearney had put in a lot of effort.
Without her, Agnes wouldn’t have handled Laura so smoothly.
Agnes began, “Kearney, don’t worry about me, my issues are almost resolved.”
Kearney was like an elder brother to her.
Kearney nodded, “When are you planning to return to Manhattan?”
Agnes responded, “I haven’t decided yet.”
She really hadn’t decided yet.
Laura’s second trial was imminent, but Agnes knew Laura was doomed.
As for Beatrice, she was handed over to Jared and would likely face a worse fate.
She could easily leave now. Her purpose for returning home was fully achieved.
Years of wishes and grievances had been settled.
But the one thing Agnes hadn’t expected was to get tangled up with Jared again.
Agnes hadn’t decided what to do next, and then there was her grandmother Agnes wanted to convince her
grandmother to go abroad with her, but her grandmother refused, and Agnes was troubled. She might have to stay
here a little longer

He took a puff, blew out a ring of smoke, and then snuffed it out.
Kearney began, “Since you’re not in a hurry to get back, could you do me a favor?”
Agnes was puzzled, “What do you need my help with?”
In Agnes book, Kearney was capable of anything. Unrestrained and without boundaries, he moved like a mysterious
ghost between the underworld and the law–abiding world.
His businesses spanned the globe, including listed companies and underground banks and casinos.
He was Reggie’s right–hand man, the formidable second son.
What could she possibly help him with?
Kearney smiled, “It’s no big deal. As you know, our godfather is breaking into the wine market. Recently, I’ve been
doing business with Count

Alexandra from France. His daughter’s coming–of–age party is in a few days, and I’ve been invited. But I need a
lady to accompany me.”
