Chapter 106. The young force
“What’s wrong, Athena?” Nathan was the first one to open his mouth to ask the question, unable to hold himself back anymore.
The environment was filled with tension
“Why did you call this sudden meeting?” After Nathan, it was Justin who asked in a desperate tone while looking at her with a
frown.
Athena called a serious and urgent meeting suddenly, making them tense. They tried to ask the same questions before but she
requested that they don’t ask such questions. Which is why they were worried more than anything.
“I don’t like the look on your face. What’s wrong?” Suzanne asked with a frown. She was still acting a little distanced from Athena
but she couldn’t hold down the worry anymore and ended up asking. Athena bet Suzanne’s hands were itching to hug her.
“Did something happen to Dominic? Is he okay? Should I call the doctor?” Patricia ended up asking the triggering questions for
everyone and their eyes widened thinking of the possibilities of that happening. But before they could attack her with all those
questions, she raised her hand to shut them all up with a blank look on her face.
“Please don’t ask me any questions. I can’t answer them. I would like to talk to the pack members directly only.” She said in a
serious tone while not looking at their faces, earning scowls from each of them.
“You are scaring us, Athy!” Suzanne spoke up in her usual worried tone, unable to hold it back anymore. Athena’s face softened
a little after hearing Suzanne’s tone. But she again held herself back.
“Bear with it a little longer. It will all be over soon.” She said in a low tone while turning around to look down at the pack members
who gathered downstairs like everytime. She noticed that everyone was there already but she still waited for confirmation from
the head guard.
“Luna, we are all here!” The head guard said and she nodded at him before roaming her eyes around once again. She knew they
were going to attack her with questions once again.
“What is it you want to talk about, Luna?”
“Is everything okay?” “Is our alpha okay?”
The series of questions immediately came at her from everywhere, making her sigh. But she couldn’t back down at that moment.
She had to end what she started. So, she put on a serious face one and looked ahead of her.
“I would like to stop you all before you start attacking me with all the questions and start with the reason why I called this
meeting. “She started in a blank tone, sending off the tense environment around them. As she always approaches them with a
happy and assuring tone, they weren’t used to her current tone yet.
“I want you all to answer a few of my questions.” She spoke up and everyone gave her worried looks. Her friends looked
confused, unable to understand what happened to her early in the morning. .
“We are ready Luna.” They all spoke up together in a determined tone and she nodded at them. She closed her eyes and took a
deep breath, preparing herself, before letting it go and opening her eyes back. “First question, do you guys trust me?” She asked
in a very serious tone while looking down to examine their faces for any oddness. But before she could find any, they all spoke
up together once again.
“We do, Luna.” She let out a sigh after hearing them. That was too easy, wasn’t it? She thought of trying again.
“Why do you guys trust me? Don’t tell me because I am your alpha’s mate. He didn’t even announce or accept me as your and
his Luna yet. So, do you have any answer other than that?” She asked the question again but in a composed manner. Everyone
went silent after the question and she could say that they were mind-linking each other. Soon one of them raised her hand and
she nodded at her to go ahead.
“You saved our alpha’s life. That’s enough reason to trust you with our lives.” The woman spoke up with confidence, making her
feel proud but that wasn’t enough as a few seconds later, another man spoke up.
“You handled us when we needed it the most, that’s enough reason to trust you.” The man said, making her look at him with
astonishment But again that wasn’t enough as another one spoke up.
A pack falls apart without their alpha but you hold us tightly, hardly letting us meet our alpha. You earned our trust” This time it
was a teen-ager which surprised her a lot. But she noticed one thing, their answers always ended at their alpha.
“You love your alpha very much, don’t you?” She asked and they immediately nodded at her.
“That can never be a question, Luna.” One of them spoke up with his chin raised high. She nodded at him after hearing that.
“Indeed. So, tell me, how far are you willing to go for your alpha?” She asked with a raised eyebrow, slowly her tone was
changing t o manipulation which her friends caught and got worried.
“What do you mean, Luna?”
“If I say you have to select ten members out of you all to sacrifice to save your alpha? Can you do that?” She asked in a
menacing tone while looking down. Her friends were shocked hearing that and Nathan immediately spoke up.
“Athena?! What are you talking about?” Nathan asked as his tone was filled with shock and disbelief.
He shared a look with Suzanne, Patricia and Justin. They were all confused by Athena’s questions. They were worried that
Athena’s questions were going to raise unnecessary tensions among the pack members. They were going to assume the worst
even if the situation isn’t that bad. And they were worried that pack members didn’t trust Athena enough to take the question
normally.
oppose or interrupt her again But they were shocked by the pack members’ smartness after they heard their answer.
“We all are willing to give up on our lives but we have a request.” The man in duty of speaking behalf of the pack spoke up,
taking their attention to him.
“What is it?” Athena spoke up with a frown. Even she was shocked after hearing that they were ready for something like this as
well! So, she was excited to know their request.
“Please choose five destined couples if it’s a must to save our alpha. Because it’s going to be difficult for the other one if you
chose randomly.” He spoke up in a heavy tone, making Athena gasp.
But everyone looked so serious and supportive of that decision that it made her nervous. She couldn’t look them in the eyes
anymore. So, without reacting to their answer, she looked down and with gritted teeth, she spoke up once again. She was trying
hard to maintain her facade.
“One last question.” She breathed out but everyone heard her anyway by their super hearing power.
“We are ready, Luna.” They spoke up again in a confident tone. They felt as if Athena was taking their test and they were
determined to pass the test.
Athena closed her eyes once again and took another deep breath. As if this last question was the hardest for her to ask. As if
she was having difficulty in even thinking about it. Nathan and others couldn’t think of what was going on with her. They have
never been this confused in their lives. But they couldn’t do anything other than waiting to see what she had planned in mind
“What if...what if your... your alpha rejects me and...and doesn’t accept me as your and his Luna?” Athena choked while
bringing those words out of her mouth. She closed her eyes, not ready to hear the answer.
No matter how much they loved her, they would never go against their alpha, would they? So, she already knew the answer of
the question but she couldn’t accept it. It was hard for her to even think about it.
“That’s not possible, Luna.”
A young voice doomed in the silent living room, making her open her eyes and look at the source of the voice with widened eyes.
Her shock doubled when she saw it was a ten year old kid. She recognised him as Ace’s play mate. She looked at him in shock
and disbelief to see what he got to say about this matter.
“If we can give our lives for our alpha, we can fight with him for our Luna as well.” Another kid spoke up with a fire in her eyes,
She was around the same as the previous kid. Maybe a little younger.
But damn her words! It was nowhere near a kid’s word!
“We are not going to let that happen ever!” The whole team of kids shouted in determination and power while the elders nodded
in agreement. They were all proud after seeing the maturity of their children
But that wasn’t enough shock for early in the morning. They got the biggest shock next after hearing a very familiar voice
“That’s not going to happen ever as well!” A voice spoke up, silencing the room.
It was the same voice they have been wanting to hear for a long time.
