Chapter 26

Prep for the party Dominic’s mind was messed up. It was hard to keep his face straight all the while he

was listening to Nathan. Athena has special blood. What was that supposed to mean? She was just a

rogue. A filthy little thief who tried to steal from him years ago. How can she have special blood? Was it

some kind of joke that the moon goddess was playing with him? Wasn’t it enough that she paired him

with a rogue and now this? But he can’t just let this go. He needs to take a look into it. But he can‘t do it

among all these. Tomorrow is the party. He needs to concentrate on that. But after that’s over he will

have to do something about that. He was thinking about all these as he kept walking out the pack house

toward his mansion when he suddenly bumped with someone. The person he bumped with was going to

fall down but he was fast enough to catch that person. He wrapped his hand around the person’s waist

Immediately after that the familiar scent which was enough to make his mind go numb. He looked at the

person in his arms and got lost there. What does she have to get him captivated like this all the time?

Was it her beauty? The mate bond? Or what? He doesn’t know but it does something inside his heart

every time she comes i n front of him.

They both were lost in each other’s eyes. They couldn‘t think straight as their scents involved themselves

around. Last but not the least, their heartbeat was beating together at the same time. They were

completely lost in a maze.

But Athena was the one who came out of that maze the fastest and she immediately pushed herself

away from him. She created a good amount of distance as she stood away from him. He frowned seeing

her doing that before clenching his fist. He didn‘t like her actions. He didn’t like how she put distance

between them and stood in the distance from him. He wanted t o pull her back to his arms and punish

her from going away. But he stopped himself with difficulty and masked his expression with blankness.

“I am sorry. Excuse me.” She whispered out without looking at him before trying to walk past him.

He frowned seeing her acting so quiet. She is usually always up for a fight. But now she was so calm

and worried. What happened to her? He felt a pinch in his heart thinking of anything that might have

made her worried. He felt desperate to know that. “Stop!” He ordered and she immediately stopped and

looked at him with a frown.

“What?” She asked.

“The party is in the pack house, right? Stacey has sent me here to work for the party tomorrow. “She

answered in a blank tone. Dominic was going to say something when they were

interrupted by someone. “Yeah, I sent you to work, not to seduce my mate!”

They both turned back to look at a fuming Stacey. She looked furious and from the look on her face, it

seems like she had seen the scene when Athena was in his arms. That might have caused that

comment out of her.

“Stacey, why did you ask her to work here, in the pack house?” Dominic asked with a frown. H e didn’t

like her interrupting too much into his life and his decisions. He didn’t like that at all.

“Why, Dominic? Did she complain to you about it?” Stacey asked in a bitchy tone as she looked at

Athena with gritted teeth. Athena gave her a blank look back. “No, she didn’t. But why are you sending

her there now? Currently there is no female worker working. Their work starts after two hours. Currently

male workers are setting up the tough jobs. Then why are you sending her now?” Dominic asked with a

frown. Well, even though he also wanted to punish her and make her suffer as much as possible. But for

some reason he didn’t like the idea of Athena going there now. “Well, what’s the problem there? What if

the male workers need someone female to help them with something? Also, don’t worry. Athena doesn’t

have any problems. Women like her look for opportunities like this. You know.” Stacey said in an insulting

manner. “STACEY!” Dominic growled after hearing her. If he didn’t like her words before, he absolutely

hated what she just said. Even the thought of any men touching Athena boiled his blood and here Stacey

was sending her among all those all time hungry wolves.

He is never going to let that happen. “It’s okay. I am okay with it. I don‘t have any problems. I will look for

some work to help them and if there isn’t anything, I will cook food for them. They might be tired after all

the work.” Athena spoke up in a calm and neutral tone. Nobody can understand what’s going on inside

her head.

“See! She is so happy. That must be because she is working for the party of her future Luna. She is

happy for us, right Athena?” Stacey asked in a taunting tone.

“Sure, Stacey. I am very happy for you and Dominic. You guys suit each other so perfectly

that I can‘t help but be happy for you both. You both look like the pair made in heaven. Perfect match for

each other from every aspect. Of course, I am very happy for you both.” Athena said with a sweet smile

while looking directly into Dominic‘s eyes. But Dominic could clearly see the smirk and taunt right past

her fake smile. “Excuse me, guys. I will go to work now.” Athena said in the same sweet tone before

walking toward the pack house again but Dominic caught her by her right upper arm and stopped her.

“Didn’t you hear me when I said you aren‘t going there? You are not going there!” Dominic growled in

anger while tightening his hold around her arm. She let out a small hiss.

“But–…”

Athena and Stacey tried to object at the same time but Dominic cut them off.

“I don’t want to hear any more words from both of you. Stacey, come with me to the office. I want to

discuss something with you. And you.” He glared at Athena.

“Suzanne and Patricia are looking for you. Help them with their work. I don’t want to see you near here.”

He ordered before leaving her hand and walked back to the pack house. Stacey followed after him fast

after glaring at him one last time. Athena let out a sigh after they left.

Dominic just ruined her plan! (Sorry about the short chapters, peeps! Exam fact. The syllabus is too big

and hard which isn’t letting me write. It will be over after this week though. But I have a day off after
