Chapter 99
Finally, Evadne presented her gift to Mr. Hamiltion.
When the prestigious Dante Chair was brought out, all the antique enthusiasts in the place were
ecstatic.
“Wow! Now that’s a real gem!”
“I’m totally h ooked! Wish I could touch it!”
“Among all the gifts Mr. Hamiltion received today, besides the antique violin from Mr. Thaddeus, this
chair is the most valuable!”
“Who exactly is this, Ms. Ilana? Shelling out for some high-priced antique furniture right off the bat?
Seems like Mr. Thaddeus’ ex-wife wasn’t exactly scraping by!” Thaddeus’ heart was racing, his gaze
fixated on llana.
He didn’t expect Ilana to gift Mr. Hamiltion the item she bought at the Ashbourne group auction that
was worth 10 million!
It seemed like the Ashbourne group really treated her like a princess.
However, what Evadne said next almost made him choke.
“Mr. Hamittion, this was a gift from President Ashbourne and me. Wishing you health and happiness,
may your joy be endless.” Evadne’s eyes shone brightly, cheerfully congratulating Mr. Hamiltion.
Cas ius bowed, his words eloquent and gentle, “Mr. Hamiltion, I wish you health and happiness. May
your joy be endless.”
They stood together, dignified and valuable, truly a match made in heaven!
Thaddeus felt his heart pound in his chest. He subconsciously touched his heart, quick as a flash,
terrified someone might notice.
“Ah, this gift was too valuable. I’m really grateful!” Hamiltion was thankful but still said, “Ilana, whatever
you gave me, I’ll love. You really don’t have to go to such lengths, Mr. Cas sius. You’re too kind.”
Cas sius laughed and replied, “When Ilana and I picked out the gift, we just wanted to make you
happy.”
“Mr. Hamiltion, just accept it. Ms. Ilana is expressing her feelings through the gift.” Glynnis sneered,
“But this way of gifting sure is convenient, without having to prepare anything herself and still getting
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇteveryone’s praise. Ms. Ilana sure knows how to live, quite thrifty.”
Evadne raised an eyebrow, calmly saying, “I wouldn’t dare reap such a huge benefit, so I prepared a
small gift for Mr. Hamiltion as well. It just paled in comparison to President Ashbourne’s gift.”
Glynnis’ eyes widened. This woman actually had a backup gift?
“Oh? Ilana, what else did you prepare for me? Show me quickly!” Hamiltion immediately lit up.
Evadne’s eyes twin kled with a mysterious light, and then she clapped her hands.
Soon, Jason, dressed in a suit, walked in, holding a gla** box.
And protected inside the box was an incredible scene carved from top-notch coloured gemstones. The
hills and stones seemed so lifelike, a sight for sore eyes!
“It’s so beautiful!” Everyone couldn’t help but exclaim.
The exquisite carving deeply attracted Thaddeus and Jareth. Just how skilled must one be to carve
such a perfect piece!
“Ah, this is?” Hamiltion’s eyes lit up, pointing at the carving with shaking fingers, “Isn’t this Patrick’s
work, Eternal H orizon? Ilana, where did you get this?”
Patrick?! The internationally renowned late master sculptor? His works were so hard to get!
“Mr. Hamiltion, you flatter me. I don’t have the opportunity to get Mr. Patrick’s Eternal H orizon.” Evadne
scratched her head shyly, cheeks flushed, “This is my imitation: Transient H orizon. I put a lot of effort
into it, but it still falls short compared to Mr. Patrick’s work. It’s just a bit of practice.”
Everyone stared at this beautiful girl in surprise.
Practice?! That must be some high-level skill!
Only a very skilled carver could engrave thousands of scenes onto a gemstone. This delicate and
elegant craftsmanship, from afar, one might even mistake it for Patrick’s Eternal H orizon!
This girl was really talented.
Who was she exactly? Could she be Patrick’s disciple?!
Everyone looked at Evadne with admiration and respect.
Only Elspeth and Glynnis looked as if they had swallowed a bitter pill.
This woman, ever since leaving the Abernathy family, had become so different. She really kept them on
their toes!
“Ilana, my llana, you really are my treasure!” Hamiltion laughed happily, holding on to Evadne’s hand
without wanting to let go.
“To have such a wife, what more could I ask for.” Jareth stared at her, sighing.
Thaddeus couldn’t help but glare at him coldly, his eyes full of frost.
He looked at Ilana, who was admired like a star by everyone, feeling that her world was so far from his,
but he was her husband!
Shock, anger, unwillingness, various emotions tangled in Thaddeus’ heart.
He was fooled, once again fooled by this woman!
Mr. Hamilton’s birthday banquet continued among everyone’s laughter and chatter.
Evadne wanted to go to the restroom to touch up her makeup, so she temporarily left Mr. Hamiltion’s
side.
Along the way, she thought about all the lowly and despicable traps Acacia and Elspeth had set for her
from the start. She found it hilarious.
They all had plenty of experience but still tried to outsmart her, truly overestimating themselves.
She had already predicted where they would attack her, but no matter how thorough their plans were,
they overlooked one thing: Mr. Hamiltion’s genuine love for her.

Chapter 99
Love was a fortress that schemes and plots could never conquer.
Evadne knew that if Cas sius were the one presenting the gift, giving Dante Chair would be a no-go.
So, she whipped out the piece she had carved half a month ago to present to Mr. Hamiltion.
The reason she had such mad skills was that she grew up watching Mr. Louis craft masterpieces out of
stone piles.
By that logic, Mr. Patrick could be considered her teacher’s teacher.
The villa’s corridor was long and winding. Being her first time here, Evadne easily got lost.
Just then, a chubby cat strolled past her.
“Hey, kitty, where are you heading?”
The cat brightened Evadne’s mood instantly. She chuckled and ran after it.
She was close to catching up when her traditional dress was tight, and her high heels slipped on the
cobblestones. She stumbled forward a few steps.
And right in front of her were stairs!
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm“Ah!”
Evadne shrieked, closing her eyes tight.
Suddenly, a pair of strong arms enveloped her from behind.
Those powerful arms immediately calmed her.
Then she felt her body being gently lifted and pressed against a familiar “human wall.”
“Meow!”
The cat perched on the decorative mountain looked at Evadne, let out a meow, and vanished.
Evadne slowly opened her eyes but didn’t dare to turn around. She just took calming breaths.
Thaddeus could clearly feel her back pressed against his chest.
His heartbeat started to race.
“Let me go. Do you plan on holding me forever?” Evadne bit her lip and started to struggle.
Thaddeus’ gaze was deep. His hand gently brushed her waist before releasing her.
“Do you think I want this? I just didn’t want you to fall.” His tone was icy.
“Don’t think I’ll be grateful.” Evadne steadied herself against a pillar, turned around, and glared at him
coldly. “I’d rather get hurt than let you take advantage of me.”
In the setting sun, her face was incredibly captivating.
“I took advantage of you?” Thaddeus paused to catch his breath, and then his lips curled into a smirk.
“If I wanted to take advantage of you, would I have waited until now?”
“Thaddeus!” Evadne’s eyes widened.
“Weren’t you the one who always let me take advantage in the past?” Thaddeus’ gaze was cold. “We
may be divorced, but I haven’t forgotten the past.”
From the beginning of the party until now, the shock she had given him had made him extremely
agitated.
If things continued this way, he might fall ill..
Evadne’s mood took a nosedive. She felt ashamed.
“Oh, so what’s your deal now? The thing you could have had but didn’t appreciate, and now that you’ve
lost it, you’re regretting it?”
“Ilana?”
“Mr. Frederic, you’ve missed the boat. The things I once wanted to give you, you didn’t want it. And if
you want them in the future, tough luck!”
Thaddeus’ eyes immediately turned red. He suddenly grabbed her wrist and forcefully pinned her
against the pillar!
