ran to the computer.

She pulled out a USB drive hidden in her hair bun and plugged it into the computer. It was

a gift from a friend, who would be waiting up all night to fight alongside her.

Just as the progress bar hit 90%, it froze!

After watching everything, dawn had broken. Evadne closed the laptop, tears streaming

silently down her face as she leaned into Thaddeus‘ broad embrace.

“I wonder how Ms. West is doing now.”

“Ms. West is a wise woman, and fortune favors the brave. She’ll be alright,” Thaddeus

reassured her, his fingers gently caressing her shoulder as he planted a comforting kiss.

“I should’ve used a safer method, even if it was slower. I shouldn’t have let her take such

a risk.”

Evadne trembled with guilt in his arms, “I’m afraid she’ll end up like Erica.”

Thaddeus, understanding the shadows that haunted her, tenderly held her cool hand,

kissing her palm and fingertips over and over, whispering softly to ease her anxious heart.

‘No. The West family may have fallen, but she’s still the precious daughter of the West
