After a moment of silence, Joseph suddenly raised his head and broke out in laughter. “Amazing! Oh, dear daughter, I've underestimated you!” Arianna just looked at him coldly, not having much of a reaction. She might have had a crushing defeat today if she had not done this.

After laughing for some time, his phone rang. He was not in the mood to answer it, so he picked it up after some time. “Hello?” Suddenly, he raised his head after exchanging a few words with the person on the other end.

Standing up, he asked anxiously as his gaze averted to Arianna, “What? Are you sure that you searched everywhere?” Puzzled, Arianna looked back at him.

“Okay, | got it. Calm down. No, don’t call the cops. Wait first...” Then, he hung up and glared at Arianna. His phone was still in his hand. “What have you done to Damian?” Arianna had no idea what he was talking about.

“Is there a need for you to put on an act in front of me at this point?” Joseph scoffed, unable to trust her at all right now. “Did you have to kidnap him now that you've pushed all the blame onto him? Where is he?” “Kidnap?” Arianna chuckled. “Dad, you said it yourself. The cops will look for him soon because he’s at fault, so why would | kidnap him, and where could | possibly have hidden him? Also, what good would that do me?” She looked calm and did not look like she was lying at all. Joseph stared at her for a long time before he frowned.

“Is it really not you?” “Was that Elizabeth?” Arianna asked. Who else could it be other than Elizabeth, who cared about Damian's whereabouts? “It’s been two days since we last spoke to Damian.” Unwilling to give up, Joseph dialed Damian’s phone number once again, but the latter's phone was still switched off. “Elizabeth is going crazy with worry! We thought we couldn’t contact him because he was in a bad mood, but something must be wrong if we couldn't get in touch with him. Everyone is watching him right now, so he can’t go unnoticed if he was wandering around.” Hence, the first thought that came to Joseph's mind was that Arianna had kidnapped Damian, which was why they could not find him.

It made him feel distressed in an instant.

Sighing, he said, “What's the point of saying that now? Ari, did you really not take Damian away?”
