Belinda gasped audibly, her hand flying to her mouth in shock.

“What on earth happened?” she asked.

With a heavy heart, Gordon explained, “Last night, Macie was abducted and brutally raped. Afterward, her

captors used a blade on her face, leaving her with over a dozen disfiguring cuts.”
