“Why don't we consider going into Mr. Cadman's personal file? Judging from whom he's interacted on a daily basis, we might be able to find traces of Eonetara,” suggested Jonathan.
However, Mabel was quick to refute, “Mr. Cadman's file is highly classified. Not even | have the authority to access it.
Besides, it's possible that many of his activities have actually gone unnoticed and thus not recorded in it.” After pausing momentarily, she went on, “Then again, this could serve as a lead nonetheless.” Words of caution then came from Jonathan, “Anyway, this Eonetara organization must be up to no good. It's best if we don't underestimate them. They might even bring disaster upon everyone in the future.” Mabel bobbed her head. “Leave this matter to me. I'll perform a thorough investigation.” At that point in time, Jonathan threw a question. “Say, do you think Eonetara has anything to do with the wrathful spirit issue in Yaleview?”
“That I'm not sure of. Department of National Security has already stepped in to look into the case. | suppose they'll reach a conclusion soon enough. Yaleview is the capital city, so | didn't expect those wrathful spirits to choose a place like that to create a scene. This time, even the higher authorities are enraged,” elucidated Mabel.
Heaving a sigh, Jonathan bleated, “The Great Tribulation is looming, and indeed, it's going to be accompanied by the appearance of all sorts of demons and ghosts. | haven't the slightest intention of getting myself involved in any grudge, yet there | was, stepping on Eonetara's toes simply by trying to lay my hands on the prismatic crystal. Not only have | murdered their messenger, but I've even claimed the lives of three Divine Masters from their side. This feud has gotten way out of hand, | must say. | doubt that they'll ever let me off the hook.” That said, a piece of advice was all Mabel could offer him.
“You've always been expected to become entangled in endless quandaries anyway. So, do yourself a favor and perish the thought of avoiding them.”
Jonathan wore a bitter smile after listening to her. “That makes sense, but | still do hope to lessen my threats however possible. Nobody would enjoy having their own lives endlessly in peril, would they?” “Considering that Eonetara has suffered a major setback at your hands, | believe they won't be coming after you for a while. After all, we don't have that many Divine Masters these days.” Jonathan had to admit that Mabel did have a point there. If Eonetara still had more elites with them, they would've long made a move. Never would they hold themselves back like that.
Right at that juncture, Mabel sensed something was off, hence probing, “Oh, right. Why do | feel that something's wrong with your body?” Jonathan didn't hide it from her. “You're right. My body is facing a crisis right now because | was trapped by Eonetara in Void Domain for too long. | used up all the nutrients in my body when | was inside. Now, even if I've stuffed myself
with an enormous amount of food, that still doesn't seem to cutit.” “Since you already have the prismatic crystal with you, you ought to return to Divine Realm as soon as possible to redeem an Immortal Pill,” remarked Mabel.
“Right!” Although Jonathan still hadn't obtained information on the mysterious Eonetara and the wrathful spirits were still at large in Yaleview, he figured that the world would always find itself the new emergence of great talents.
After all, he couldn't always be the one who would be shouldering each and every responsibility.
That very night, he boarded Mabel's private jet and headed to Yaleview.
Truth be told, Jonathan still had an Immortal Pill in his possession, which was the Trio Vitality Pill gifted by Elijah.
Be that as it might, Jonathan didn't bring it along with him and had left it with Catherine for safekeeping.
Had he been carrying the Trio Vitality Pill with him at all times, it would've fallen into the hands of Eonetara. That elderly man in black was a Divine Master himself, so he would naturally be yearning for an Immortal Pill, not to mention devouring it.
Plus, Jonathan would never consume the Trio Vitality Pill given by Elijah, for it was important that he held fast to his principle.
After arriving at Yaleview, he didn't linger around. Instead, he boarded another flight bound for Lostaria at once, as Mabel had already bought him the air ticket beforehand.
At three o'clock in the afternoon, Jonathan reached Lostaria International Airport.
Lostaria was a thousand miles away from Wildefield.
Yet, one could fly and appear on the other side of the world within a day owing to the advantage granted by modern technology.
The breeze in Lostaria was warm, and the weather was fair.
Many could finally put long-sleeved shirts to good use, given the ideal local temperature.
Atrip to Lostaria would be the best choice during that season.
The second Jonathan stepped out of the airport, he hailed a taxi and made a beeline for Divine Realm.
An hour later, he reached his destination.
Swiping the passcode at the entrance, he breezed into Divine Realm.
The first thing he did was pay his respect before the majestic statue of Divine Emperor at Olympus and surrender the prismatic crystal.
Following that, he visited Richard at Chard Hall.
He noticed that nothing had changed at Chard Hall.
But that time around, he managed to set foot in Chard Hall without any trouble. That would be logical, for he was already Richard's disciple, so no one would dare to hinder his path.
Once inside, however, all he found was a staff in the hall. It was the Anglandurn girl.
She was busy sweeping the floor in the foyer.
The moment Jonathan stepped in, the girl greeted him respectfully, “It's good to see you, Mr. Lawson!” Jonathan flashed her a grin in return. “Is Master Richard around?” The girl replied, “Master Richard is meditating at the moment.” “Ah, forget it, then.” “Should | pass him a message?” “No, it's fine. I'm just paying him a visit since I'm back.” “All right. I'll get you a cup of coffee.” Jonathan waved his hand hastily. “No, no. I'll make a move first. I'll drop by again when Master Richard has time to spare.”
With that said, he was all ready to leave.
At that very moment, a voice was heard coming from not far away.
“Jonathan, since you're already here, come on in.” It was Richard's voice.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtJonathan froze for a bit before politely accepting the invitation. “Yes, Master!” He went in, only to find that the meditation space was quiet and serene, coupled with a faint scent of sandalwood.
Clad in a snow-white robe, there Richard was, sitting cross- legged atop the couch, his seat of honor.
An indescribable celestial aura was emanating incessantly throughout his whole body.
‘When Jonathan clapped eyes on Richard, he could feel that the latter was gradually exuding the same vibe as that of Lance.
“Greetings, Master!” Jonathan lowered his head graciously.
A faint smile played about Richard's lips. He was a
benevolent being through and through. “Has it been a smooth journey?” he asked.
Letting out a wry chuckle, Jonathan stated, “Not really, Master. Despite successfully completing the mission, | encountered an anomalous incident.” “Oh?” Richard's curiosity was piqued.
Jonathan had been troubled by the existence of Eonetara thus far. Considering Richard's resourcefulness, he reckoned that Richard might actually know a thing or two.
With that, he recounted how he had been entrapped by Eonetara in Void Domain.
Upon finishing the story, he looked at Richard with a hopeful gaze.
“Since they boast a team of Divine Masters of their own and even claim to come from Eonetara, | suppose | understand what this is all about,” commented Richard in a deep voice.
Jonathan rejoiced and exclaimed, “Please enlighten me with your insights, Master!”
“This so-called Eonetara isn't an organization but a place.
They originated in hell.” “What? They really came from hell?” Astonishment inundated Jonathan.
“Now, don't you be mystified by it. We reside in the mortal world, a place filled with light and grace. On the flip side, Eonetara belongs to the darkness in the underworld. All this time, light reigns supreme of both worlds while Eonetara is merely an unsavory existence. This doesn't mean that they're literally filthy, but as more and more souls of the deceased are reluctant to move on, they manifest and hide in the shades. Once the number of vengeful spirits reached a certain degree, our world would usher in an era of unprecedented dread. That's where Eonetara comes in.
Eonetara accepts and abets wandering souls, nourishing them with evil and diabolical energy. It's their kismet to stay in the shadows.” “Where exactly is this Eonetara?” Jonathan instinctively blurted out the query.
“To reach Eonetara, you'll need to locate Eonetara Gate.” A pointer was all Richard could offer.
That was when Jonathan recalled that Lailah had also been attempting to get to Eonetara Gate.
At the thought of that, he put forward another inquiry.
“Where can | find Eonetara Gate, then?” “That | have no clue. All | know is that Mr. Cadman had been to Eonetara Gate in the past. Other than that, there hasn't been much hearsay about it.” Thinking about Lailah, Jonathan felt a sense of melancholy descending upon him. However, he decided not to press the matter further.
All he did was voice his opinion, “Given that our paths aren't intertwined with one another, what do those people from Eonetara want from us? All | see is them robbing our fortune and stealing our life force. | bet they're up to no good.” “The impending Great Tribulation serves Eonetara a golden
opportunity. I'm afraid that they intend to turn the tables and assume sovereignty.” A sigh accompanied Richard's breath as he spoke.
His words struck Jonathan like bolts of lightning. “Wouldn't that mean a calamity upon us all?” “Fret not. The nature of things has long been decided by the heavens, so it'll be nothing but a futile effort for Eonetara. That said, they won't give up that easily.” Jonathan seemed to have fallen into deep thought upon hearing that.
“Since you've offended Eonetara, you should watch your back at all times,” added Richard.
“I will, Master! Thank you for your concern.” Nodding, Richard posed a question. “By the way, | remember you've had a dispute with Edward from Strikezone Martial Arts, am | right?” Jonathan was startled. He couldn't comprehend the reason his master would bring up the matter out of the blue. Of course, he wouldn't dare to cover it up, thus admitting it on
the spot. “Yes.” Richard couldn't help but laugh bitterly at that. “You brat.
Why are you always causing trouble everywhere you go?” Jonathan also felt rather exasperated, for he had always been trying his best to stay out of trouble, yet things had constantly seemed to backfire.
“Master, did something happen?” “Just three days ago, Edward's cultivation reached Divine Master Level Ten, and he's been promoted to one of the inner disciples of Divine Realm. Remember, he's no longer a Gold-ranked outer disciple, so if you were to bump into him, you'd have to address him as a master nonetheless.” F*ck! Jonathan secretly cursed after hearing the news, as if a thousand angry horses were stomping in his heart.
It was then that he recognized the gap between his and Edward's skills.
At first, Jonathan had thought that Edward was merely on the Celestial Soul stage, which was on par with what
Jeremy had attained.
Not long after that, he was informed that Edward had long been a Divine Master.
But now, he finally understood that Edward was no longer the same person he once knew and that both he and Edward were poles apart.
Level Ten Divine Master, huh? | wonder what kind of strength that would be.
As he dwelled on that thought, he eventually conceded inwardly, for he wasn't even anywhere close to achieving that feat.
Unwittingly, Jonathan shifted his line of sight to Richard, uttering in a meek voice, “Master, what cultivation stage are you now on, if | may ask?” “lam, too, a Level Ten Divine Master. The same goes for Gideon. Only Master Oswald is on Immortal Stage, the highest cultivation among us all.” Jonathan was disheartened to hear that. It seems that I'm
destined to watch Edward with admiration for the rest of my life.
Richard noticed Jonathan's crestfallen expression and said, “Don't feel too sad. If Edward is to become a master in the Divine Realm soon, gaining power and respect, he will probably pay no heed to you. | will act as a mediator to help resolve the situation.” Jonathan immediately expressed, “Thank you, master!” His expression, though, held no hint of joy. He was a proud man who didn't like to grovel.
Richard gave him an assessing look, knowing he had a headstrong nature, and said, “You're still young and the Chosen One. Your future holds limitless possibilities. Who's to say you wouldn't surpass me!” Knowing Richard was trying to encourage him, Jonathan assured, “I will try my hardest and will not disappoint you.” Richard hummed in acknowledgment before continuing, “You need to ascend to Celestial Soul as soon as possible, but if you rely on elixir pills too much before that happens, you will create instability in your foundation, so I'm refraining from rewarding you with elixir pills.”
“Understood. | will remember your advice,” Jonathan acknowledged.
“Okay, you can't leave since tomorrow is Edward's advancement ceremony. I've prepared some gifts for you to bring to him. This could be a way to diffuse the feud between both of you,” Richard said.
A sense of aggrievement washed over Jonathan, but he wasn't one to be impulsive. “As you wish.” Richard gave a slight smile. “I know your mild temperament belies a steel backbone that will not tolerate humiliation.
However, you have to be alive to live out the endless possibilities. There's a saying about coupling strength and gentleness, about knowing when to stand your ground or find the middle ground. You must learn to hide your brilliance if you want to advance in life. You will lose everything once you're dead.” He paused before adding, “Edward is almost forty years old. Life has presented him with many opportunities, so his success is not surprising. Perhaps you will be like him when you're his
age.” Jonathan was moved. “I understand.” He knew Richard only had good intentions.
The latter let out a sigh and said, “Good.” Then, he took out a brocade box. “There's a Heaven Pill inside called Longevity Pill. Give it to Edward tomorrow as a congratulatory gift.” Jonathan was shocked. “This is too much, master. | can't possibly accept this.” Richard glowered. “If | tell you to take it, then take it. This matter is settled. | don't want to hear a single word from you. You can take your leave now.” He tossed the brocade box at Jonathan.
The young man caught it, knowing in his heart that Richard was an honorable man and everything he did was for Jonathan.
He could only bow deeply. “Thank you, master!” Then, he turned on his heels to leave.
However, Richard closed his eyes and wore an intent
expression.
Jonathan left Chard Hall and headed for Sunny Condo.
The place was empty, while Yuna and Lailah were nowhere to be found.
However, a cleaning crew would come in every day to keep the place spick and span.
Jonathan turned toward the direction of his bedroom.
His stomach was grumbling with hunger, and he needed to take an elixir pill right away.
But he hadn't received his reward from Divine Realm and could only feel anxiety bubbling from within.
The Longevity Pill in his possession now was for Edward, so he couldn't take it.
He sat cross-legged and began to focus his attention, providing some relief to his body this way.
Two hours later, he received a phone call from Alice on his bedroom's landline.
He answered the phone and heard a smile in her voice. “It's been too long, Mr. Lawson.” Jonathan felt a little sheepish as he remembered promising her a few times that he would invite her out for a meal but stood her up a couple of times.
“Are you free tonight, Ms. Alice? Dinner's on me.” Jonathan quickly rectified his mistake.
She smiled slightly. “I'm always free, but | don't believe that's the case for you.” “I'm definitely free. So, tonight it is, then?” He chuckled.
“Sure!” she replied. “Oh, | called you to inform you that your reward can be claimed at the logistics department now.” He guessed that the call was regarding the reward and was excited. “I'll be there right away.” Jonathan sped out of the condominium to the lavish logistics department's office.
He immediately found Alice, who was wearing a beige suit
with her blonde hair twisted in a chignon. She looked beautiful, competent, and elegant.
She flashed him a smile after spotting him.
Jonathan returned her smile and said, “You look stunning, Ms. Alice. May | ask you a question?” She handed him the prepared brocade box while wearing a polite smile she gave everyone. She always maintained a sense of professionalism. “What is it?” She chuckled.
Regardless, Alice still had a soft spot for Jonathan because the disciples of the Divine Realm were all full of themselves.
They were disdainful of women, especially toward Alice and the other female service staff. Thus, they would be more conceited in front of them.
Jonathan, on the other hand, was different, almost an outlier. He treated everyone with the equality in which he believed.
He asked without hesitation, “Do you have a boyfriend?”
“No, but | assume you're married?” Alice replied, caught off guard.
He barked a laugh. “Oh, | was worried about your happiness. | can introduce you to a few people if you don't have one.” She smiled but said nothing further.
“I'l call you tonight,” Jonathan said.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm“Okay, bye!” Alice responded perfunctorily, and he left with the brocade box in hand.
He opened it as soon as he returned to his bedroom and found a brown elixir pill nestled within.
He didn't recognize it and couldn't detect any noticeable smell as he held it in his palm.
The name of the elixir pill was written under the brocade box—Energy Gathering Pill.
Every Immortal Pill had a specific and unique purpose.
Jonathan couldn't quite grasp this now, but he understood that every elixir pill was abundant in nutrients.
He sat down and crossed his legs before taking the Energy Gathering Pill. Once it settled in his stomach, it turned into a surge of energy, circulating to his limbs and into the bloodstream.
Jonathan could only feel his body temperature rising as his cells and muscles greedily absorbed the nutrients.
He reveled in the euphoria as exhilaration washed over him.
Awhile later, every cell in his body was singing in joy, and the insatiable hunger finally disappeared.
The effects of the Energy Gathering Pill hadn't completely disappeared yet, and without hesitation, he immediately accumulated and stored the residual energy.
The pill's potent efficacy merged with the spirit in Jonathan's body, and he began to break through the bottleneck of Nascent Soul's final stage to transform energy into essence.
All of the energy started to transform under his control with
the help of the pill, and clouds of pure vital energy evaporated from his body.
Suddenly, his eyes flashed brightly as the energy in his body was altered into essence.
At that moment, Jonathan managed to cross the threshold of the Celestial Soul's cultivation stage with the help of the Energy Gathering Pill.
His strength reached six thousand pounds! If he utilized Haemocore, his strength might get as far as nine thousand pounds, which was nearing the final stage of Celestial Soul.
Jonathan's cultivation of Haemocore gradually increased its power.
Fulfillment spread across his body, but he began to feel pangs of hunger in his muscles and cells again.
The next phase in cultivation would be to transform the essence in his body into a void, allowing the essence to be turned into blood, bones, or organs.
He would be invincible and powerful after that.
Jonathan waited until his body was satiated with nutrients before reabsorbing the power of the elixir pill. This way, the surplus nutrients would go to his brain and broaden the Door of Enlightenment in his neural field.
This is the most incredible thing ever! Happiness rippled over him.
Less than six months had passed since he started cultivating toward Celestial Soul's final stage.
He would have been a grandmaster back in the day, and Chanaea would bow down to him.
However, he knew from experience that this amount of cultivation didn't matter, and he had to persevere and make progress in order to stay alive.
There will always be someone more skilled than me! Jonathan had reached Celestial Soul, and his next advancement would need him to rely on elixir pills since his
body required more nutrients.
It was the same analogy as a puppy needing a small serving of food, whereas a large dog would require more.
Needs and ability no longer existed on the same level.
He knew that taking a Longevity Pill would provide him with the satisfaction his body craved, but he changed his mind after a moment's contemplation.
This Longevity Pill was given to him by Richard as a gift to Edward.
‘What will Master Richard think if | took it for myself? Jonathan opened his eyes to see himself covered in a sheen of black sweat.
It must be the filth excreted from his body while attaining Celestial Soul.
Uncomfortable and sweaty, he took a fresh change of clothes and hurried into the bathroom to have a long, nice shower. Hunger from the lack of elixir pills and nutrients enveloped him as he finished his shower.
He knew he needed to continue his tasks to obtain more elixir pills. His future would call for countless more elixir pills.
As night fell, Jonathan suddenly remembered his dinner appointment with Alice.
He had flaked on her twice now, and it would be embarrassing to do it three times in a row.
He quickly picked up his phone to call her.
Alice smiled. “I know you're very busy, Mr. Lawson. | get it.
We can postpone the dinner if you have something else to do.” “Who says we're postponing? I'll meet you outside Divine Realm. Hurry up and come out.”
