Chapter 420 Heavenly Village
Mauve ventured into the forest, traversing its treacherous terrain. The dense foliage and uneven ground posed
challenges, making her progress through the forest arduous and demanding. As she barely got to eat anything that
day, she could only walk slowly. However, Mauve was determined not to give up.
She had no idea where to find Simon, and she didn't even have a map with her. Nonetheless, such obstacles did not
deter Mauve in the slightest. She was acutely aware that she bore the responsibility for Simon's poisoning and his
precarious state.
The weight of guilt pressed upon her, leaving her with no choice but to push forward and search for him, hoping to
alleviate the burden of remorse that weighed heavily on her conscience.
Just like that, Mauve walked along the mountain path for three hours.
Three hours later, she had blisters all over her feet. After days of nonstop travel and the events that had transpired
involving her friends, Mauve found her energy completely depleted.
She released a soft sigh, taking a moment to survey her surroundings. The forest loomed in pitch darkness, its
eerie atmosphere teeming with poisonous insects and ferocious beasts. The incessant buzzing of the bugs filled the
air, creating an unsettling symphony that echoed around her.
Right then, a lost lone wolf emerged in front of her.
The wolf's eyes glistened with greed, a clear sign of its hunger. To the wolf, Mauve appeared as a delectable meal,
an irresistible temptation.
However, the wolf exercised caution, pausing its movements and carefully studying Mauve with watchful eyes.
Strangely, Mauve wasn't afraid at all. Her lips curled up slightly as she said, “Well, this time, no one can escape.
Simon, my friends, I'm coming to join you soon.”
With that, she lost consciousness and collapsed to the ground.
Some time later, Mauve slowly regained her consciousness. As her eyes fluttered open, she noticed her
surroundings were engulfed in darkness. Yet, to her astonishment, she found Simon right before her, his
countenance etched with an icy expression.
Simon was holding her in his arms as he rested against a tree.
Sensing her awakening, he swiftly turned his gaze toward her, lowering his head to meet her eyes. “You're awake?”
he asked, his tone carrying a distinct coldness.
Mauve felt really warm in his embrace. She blurted out, “Simon, are we both dead?”
“No,” Simon said.
As Mauve's mind cleared, she sat up and asked, “We're not dead?” Her voice filled with relief and joy, she added,
“Simon, have you been following me all this time to keep me safe?”
Simon explained, “Because of you, I wasted one-third of my energy and seven hours.” After a pause, he asked, “Do
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtyou really think you're helping me?”
Mauve hung her head low and said pitifully, “I'm sorry, Simon.”
Simon merely replied, “Eat this, then get some rest.” Clearly, he didn't want to continue the conversation.
He gave Mauve an elixir pill. It was a Spirit Gathering Pill.
“What is this?” Mauve asked curiously.
“A poison to kill you,” Simon responded icily.
Mauve chuckled aloud. “Nah, you won't.” Without hesitation, she swallowed the Spirit Gathering Pill.
Spirit Gathering Pills held little value for cultivators like Jonathan and Simon, but for ordinary individuals like Mauve,
they were akin to a miraculous remedy.
Besides, a Spirit Gathering Pill could be worth tens of millions.
Many millionaires would pay an exorbitant figure for it, but the pill's demand far surpassed its availability.
Mauve had no idea the elixir pill she took was this expensive.
If she learned about its value, she might not be able to swallow it so quickly.
As the Spirit Gathering Pill dissolved upon entering her mouth, its potent effects swiftly permeated her entire body.
If there were any impurities within her system, the pill would diligently work to purge them.
Mauve felt a burst of energy coursing within veins.
Heat gathered in her body, prompting the rapid formation of a layer of black sweat on Mauve's arms and skin. This
visible sign indicated the successful elimination of the poison from her system.
Mauve's vitality returned in full force. Her mind cleared, and a renewed energy coursed through her body. As her
skin warmed up, she came to the realization that the elixir pill she had consumed was no ordinary remedy.
Even with her limited experience, she could guess that the elixir pill was extremely valuable. “Simon, what kind of
pill did you give me? Why is its effect so miraculous? Is it some sort of elixir of immortality?” Mauve asked, her
curiosity piqued.
Simon gave her a look silently. He wasn't about to answer such a foolish question.
“The pill must be expensive, right?” Mauve added.
“Not really. I can sell it for a mere ten million easily to an elderly millionaire,” came Simon's nonchalant answer.
Mauve gaped incredulously. She knew Simon wouldn't joke or lie to her. Covering her mouth, she exclaimed, “Oh,
God! Did I just eat ten million?” Regret consumed her heart. “Why didn't you tell me earlier, Simon? If I had known,
I would've sold it and become a millionaire.”
Simon retrieved another Spirit Gathering Pill from his possession and handed it to Mauve. “Here, take this.”
Mauve was taken aback by his gesture, but she responded shyly, “Simon, I was just kidding.” After a brief pause,
she asked, “If you were to take this pill, would it help in your wound healing as well?”
“No,” Simon answered.
Mauve was about to say something when Simon closed his eyes and said curtly, “Sleep.” He then kept the Spirit
Gathering Pill.
Obediently, Mauve sat down and leaned against the tree trunk to sleep. Shortly after, she said, “Simon, I can't
sleep.”
Simon ignored her.
Mauve continued, “I'm drenched in sweat, and I smell awful.”
Simon opened his eyes and sighed in resignation. “Come with me.” He had already expanded his spiritual sense
throughout the area, so he knew the area well enough. There was a lake to their southeast.
Under Simon's lead, Mauve soon arrived at the lake, which was sparkling mysteriously under the moonlight as if a
magical mermaid would emerge from the lake any moment.
The lake was unusually serene, so tranquil that one would never suspect the presence of any creatures lurking
beneath its surface.
“Go take a bath. I won't look at you,” Simon said as he turned around.
“Will there be snakes inside, Simon?” Mauve asked, sounding afraid.
“No,” Simon assured her.
“How can you be sure about that?” Mauve asked, tilting her head curiously.
Simon snapped, “I said, there's no snake. Do you want to take a bath or not? If you don't, we'll leave now.”
Mauve could no longer stand how sticky her body was, so she quickly replied, “Okay, I'll take a bath. But you're not
allowed to peek.”
Simon rolled his eyes. “You're skinny. There's nothing to peek at.”
Mauve felt a pang of dissatisfaction upon hearing that. She instinctively tried to puff out her chest to demonstrate
that she wasn't flat-chested, but Simon was already standing with his back turned to her. The thought of running all
the way in front of him to showcase herself made her feel too bashful.
She took off her clothes and entered the lake, naked.
Strangely, she trusted Simon wholeheartedly. She knew he wouldn't peek at her.
If Jonathan were here, he would definitely sneak a look at her. That was how different Jonathan and Simon were.
When Mauve was cleaning herself in the water, she couldn't help but massage her own breasts and muttered to
herself, “I'm not skinny!”
With his exceptional hearing, Simon caught Mauve's words.
A smile played on his lips, softening his typically stern demeanor.
The following day, they continued on their journey.
Simon exerted all his strength to suppress the toxins within his body, showcasing his resilience. By the time he
couldn't contain the toxins three days later, his fate would be sealed.
With Simon's expertise in outdoor survival, he took the lead and guided Mauve throughout their journey. Despite the
hardships and fatigue, Mauve persevered, gritting her teeth and pushing herself to endure it all.
After traveling the entire day, they found a vacant space to rest for the night. Mauve didn't complain, but Simon
could imagine how she felt. He knew that she had been accustomed to a life of comfort, yet she bore it all without
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmuttering a word of complaint. It made him appreciate her tenacity and unwavering spirit and realize that she was a
determined and resilient young lady.
“Are you regretting your decision of coming here?” Simon asked.
Mauve's lips curved into a smile, revealing her two rows of pearly white teeth. “No.”
Simon came to her and suddenly held her ankle.
Mauve was taken aback by his action.
Simon quickly removed her shoe, exposing the sight of her foot covered in blood.
The blisters on her foot had burst, causing blood to stain her foot. Clearly, Mauve had been in pain throughout their
journey that day.
However, she didn't show any signs of it.
“Why did you come after me?” Simon shot Mauve a look, looking troubled. “Is it worth enduring all this pain?”
Mauve fixed her gaze on him and responded, “Simon, you possess extraordinary strength, and no one can harm
you. Yet, you put your life on the line to save me. Is it worth it?”
“I wasn't aware of the extent of danger when I saved you. Had I known, I wouldn't have saved you,” Simon replied,
his tone cold and detached.
He was telling the truth.
Mauve added, “Why don't you blame me, then?”
Simon shrugged. “It has already happened. What's the point of blaming you now?”
Hearing that, Mauve fell silent. A while later, she asked, “Simon, who are you exactly? Why are you this powerful?”
“Sorry, but I can't answer that,” came Simon's answer.
Mauve sighed out loud. Simon is the coldest guy I've ever seen in my life!
The night passed uneventfully.
When the sun came out, they continued on their journey. Simon bent down in front of Mauve and urged, “Come
on.”
“No, Simon. You're injured. I can't let you carry me. I can walk on my own,” she replied hastily.
“Cut the cr*p. You're too slow. I won't be able to reach Heavenly Cave before I die. Come on!”
There was a commanding tone in his voice, leaving Mauve startled. Her eyes turned teary as she swiftly climbed
onto Simon's back.
That very night, Simon and Mauve finally saw Superb Ridge, Maleficent Ridge, and Thunder Peak as indicated on
the map.
Light shimmered ahead, signaling their arrival at Heavenly Cave.
Simon clenched his jaw and walked up the mountain path leading upward with Mauve on his back.
Around twenty minutes later, they finally arrived at a mountain valley.
There was a vast space in front of them, covered with paddy. Bathed in the moonlight, the scene appeared
desolate, devoid of any signs of life.
Simon followed the lights.
Soon, he saw a village behind the valley, housing hundreds of families.
It was clear that they had arrived at Heavenly Village, and Heavenly Cave was right behind the village.
