Sweat dripped from Jake's face as he chopped the spices with precision, ensuring each piece was uniform, while Zagrath watched him intently. He had never felt this kind of pressure before. Who would have thought vampires had such strange cooking techniques? He couldn't afford to mess up and lose face in front of Zagrath.
Meanwhile, Jill carefully stirred the spices over the fire, making sure the heat wasn't too high and the spices didn't burn. Zagrath then told her to add sblood—fresh from a farm animal. As it poured into the sizzling pan, it mixed with the oil, and with constant stirring, the spices turned a deep red.
Sweat rolled down Jill's face as she worked, while Jake kept chopping spices relentlessly, as if preparing a feast for a crowd.
'Damn you, Zagrath, you sneaky woman,' Jill thought, clenching her teeth in silent frustration.
---
In the dining room, the table was covered with various dishes, each showcasing vampire culinary traditions, all prepared by Zagrath. Jake, reborn on Earth in this reincarnation, couldn't help but stare in awe. Even if similar dishes existed in his past life, those memories were lost to him.
"This turned out better than I expected," Jill said, rubbing her hands together as Zagrath served her food.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt"You know," Zagrath said, "before humans and other races were discovered, we vampires used animal blood for drinking and cooking. We were proud of our culture—until the great phenomenon happened. The smell of blood from intelligent beings like humans, dragon-kin, elves, and others—drew us in. Sbecaddicted and turned into murderous monsters. It ruined our reputation, but I'm glad things are starting to normalize here, even if other regions lag behind." She sighed heavily.
"Normalize?" Jake said skeptically, glancing at the food while wondering why Zagrath hadn't served him yet. "Vampires still crave human blood. There are entire factories selling cheap blood packs."
"I know," Zagrath replied. "But preferences are shifting back to animal blood. For example, ninety percent of restaurants use it now, or skip blood entirely for tourists. How would tourists feel if they learned human blood was in their food? Doesn't that seem strange?" She moved on to serve Zamira, who had just woken up, stirred by the tempting aroma.
"I disagree!" Stella said suddenly, raising her hand to challenge Zagrath.
"Why?"
"Human blood is delicious!" Stella said with a wide, toothy grin. "I've had it plenty of times and it's fantastic. Most races wouldn't mind it in their food. It's only gross when you drink it raw."
Jake and Jill pressed their hands to their faces, groaning at Stella's words, while Zamira let out a quiet laugh.
"You," Zagrath said through clenched teeth, moving to the last person, Jake, and began to serve his food. Unlike with the others, she took her time, her movements slow and deliberate, bending forward enough to show off her deep cleavage.
"You know," Jake began, swallowing hard as his eyes fixed on Zagrath's voluptuous chest, "Edgar Frost is introducing his latest technology. He promisedwe're done using human clones for blood—there's a new machine that'll produce human-like blood instead, with an even richer flavor."
Zagrath played it up, biting and licking her lower lip as she leaned closer, teasing him.
"I see… so that's how it is. Is your plate full enough, darling?" she asked suddenly.
"Yes, just add more meat," Jake replied. Zagrath complied, piling one of his plates high with meat until it nearly overflowed.
"Wow! Why did you give Master so much meat and not me?" Stella complained, her voice sweet and showing off her cute demi-human charm.
"Because he is the father of my unborn child and my husband. I cooked all this for him to start with," Zagrath answered, giving Stella a quick wink.
"You're pregnant?!" Jill and Stella exclaimed simultaneously. Even Zamira, who had been silent, looked shocked, her mouth falling open, while Jake sat frozen.
"Of course I am! I found out today!" Zagrath announced, dropping the serving dish on the table and rushing upstairs. She returned moments later with a paper, handing it to Jake.
"You went to the hospital?" Jake muttered, reading it.
"Yes, I felt strange this morning, so I went. And there it is!"
"Congratulations!"
"Congrats, Zagrath! No wonder you made so much food. Is this the baby shower?" Stella asked, her mouth full.
"Hehe, you're funny, Stella. This isn't the baby shower—that's still a while away. I just cooked a lot because I was excited!" Zagrath explained, sitting down to eat.
"Ahem… congratulations, Zagrath. I'm happy for you. I guess you got ahead ofthis time, huh?" Zamira said with a warm smile, surprising everyone who had expected her to be upset.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm"Yes! I finally beat you at something. This calls for a big celebration!" Zagrath cheered, her face turning into an exaggerated, teary-eyed expression. "I hope you get pregnant soon too," she added.
"Right… soon, huh…" Zamira murmured, then fell quiet.
"Let's eat," Jake said, clearing his throat as he noticed a hint of sadness in Zamira's eyes—a look of self-doubt.
A few minutes later, Zamira stood. "I'm going to my room. Meetwhen you're done, honey. Let's fuck," she said plainly, leaving the dining room and casting a tense mood over the table.
"Wow~ Zamira's having so much fun. I wish I could talk to my Master like th—ugh!" Stella stopped mid-sentence, catching Jake's sharp side-gaze.
"Well, since we're finishing up, I have something special," Jake said with a smile. He pulled out a long, finely crafted bottle.
"What's that?" Jill asked.
"This is a two-hundred-year-old aged rum. A gift from Edgar Frost," Jake said, pouring equal amounts for the women.
Stella swallowed hers in one go, then winced. "It burns!"
"Always so impatient. Maybe you'll learn this time," Jill said under her breath, sipping hers slowly. Zagrath also drank hers in one gulp. Jake poured himself a larger share—twice as much as the others and drank it down. Then they continued eating.
A few minutes later, the women's faces turned red. "My body feels warm, Master~," Stella said, her voice slurring slightly.
