161 Apologize!
The two of them looked at each other in silence for a while till Glenn plopped down on his chair.
“You know what makes you even more special... and suspicious in the eyes of some people?”
Kairen looked at him without answering.
“The fact that your power is something that both the government and Philomns wanted and tried a lot to get their hands on.”
“....”
“You know who was the first one to notice that something was different about your mana?”
Kairen slightly tilted his head.
“Professor Exell?”
Glenn nodded.
.....
“That’s right.” ???????????????????????????? ????o????
He then pointed at the computer with his chin.
“That old man was one of those.”
“!!”
Kairen looked between the computer and Glenn once before commenting in a surprised voice.
“One of the researchers? Didn’t they all die after the explosion?”
“Yes, everyone who was present at the sight of the explosion died on that day. However, there was no need for a freshman college student who was only an assistant to work in the lab all of the time.”
Glenn shrugged his shoulders.
“Luck, I can say.”
“....”
‘So that was how he spotted the power so quickly?’
If he had dealt with that Atypical Matter at some point in his life and even helped in creating it, that wouldn’t be so surprising for him to spot it quickly.
“But why would I have a power similar to that Atypical Matter?”
Glenn shrugged his shoulders.
“How would I know?”
He said that and got up from his seat.
“It’s too late. I’m heading home. You also start packing your stuff.”
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt“Yes...”
Kairen got up from his seat and picked up his stuff.
‘Still no answer from captain Neal, huh? She must be busy...’
Kairen checked his phone before putting it in his pocket and heading out.
. . . . . .
Tap Tap Tap Tap
Walking in the dark street, Kairen couldn’t help but think about the things that he had found out today.
‘I don’t get it. Why would Kairen 1 have such power...’
Atypical Matter.
That research was done 50 years ago so there might be a lot of mistakes and errors in it, but it was still an amazing feat.
It was said that Atypical Matter was what created monsters.
Why would a human being have such power?
‘Man, what if Kairen 1 was actually a monster king???!!!!’
Kairen stopped walking, standing motionlessly in the middle of the road and staring at nothing but air.
‘Right! Just think about it! All of those monsters react strangely around me! There are those who keep staring at me when I get close and some who try to run away! And there was that polar boar-like monster that suddenly acted cutely!’
He covered his mouth with his hand.
‘Oh my god!!!’
What was the next step? What would happen to his life now?
Shouldn’t he be able to communicate with monsters?
Maybe, one day while fighting some ignorant lowly monsters, he would find a really intelligent and strong monster that would become his right-hand man in the future!
With the help of his right-hand man, he would create a kingdom of monsters and rule over them! Then after he established peace, he would find a way to go back to Earth with the help of his monsters! Oh just imagine his brother’s face when he sees Kairen coming towards him while sitting at the back of a huge monster! Such a cool entrance that would be!
But that would lead to the envy and fear of their enemies who also wanted to be the king of monsters and have cool entrances just like Kairen so they would attack him and his kingdom to wipe them out completely and rule the world! Too bad that they didn’t know the true power of the king of monsters was originated from the power of friendship and love! So, the great king of-
SLAPPP
Kairen slapped his face with both hands.
‘Shut up!’
SLAP SLAP SLAP SLAPPPP
He was talking to his brain.
“.....”
“What is he doing?”
“Is that man alright?”
“Mom look! That uncle’s face is red!”
“Don’t look at him, honey! Let’s leave quickly!”
Kairen looked away from the people who were staring at him while passing by and coughed awkwardly.
“Ahem!”
Making sure that he had completely erased every single letter of those stupid thoughts from his mind, Kairen continued to walk. He started to think about his power once again, scared that those cursed thoughts would come back to him again.
A human being using the power that couldn’t be controlled by so many scientists and lead to a huge distraction was surely not normal.
‘Wait! What if I too will die if I can’t control that power? Like... I will explode or something...’
Kairen shook his head from side to side.
‘Nah! No way! If that was the case, then Kairen 1 would have died long ago.’
Long ago...
‘Wait, if Kairen 1 had this power from the start, then why wasn’t it noticed before I came here?’
Kairen clearly remembered that professor Exell told him that he sensed that power when he was fighting with Serria on his mid-term exam. That was exactly when Kairen came to this world.
Also, Kairen 1 had a pretty normal life before he came except for the fact that he had an unknown past.
‘Then, does that mean he got this power when I came to this world? Or maybe he had it but it was kinda activated with me coming here?’
No. Was it alright to call it ‘his’ power? Whose power was this? Kairen 1’s or Kairen 2’s?
‘This is just... too much information all at once...’
Kairen had to deal with so much new information in the past few days that he felt dizzy every time he thought about organizing them all. Still, he had almost zero progress in finding the thing he was after.
‘I’m sure there is a connection between me coming here and the power that Kairen 1... or maybe me... have...’
Kairen felt that he would be able to find some clues about why he, of all people, ended up in this world if he kept searching for his power. It was only a feeling but Kairen decided to trust it.
He now knew that he might really have some connection to Philomns. Even if it wasn’t exactly the kind of connection he thought of, they still had something in common. And that was... reverse progress in proving that he was innocent.
‘Anyway, let’s just finish what I’ve started first.’
Ding Ding Ding
Just then, he received a message.
‘Is it captain Neal?’
Thinking that it might be his master that had finally replied to his question, Kairen immediately opened the message.
.....
But it wasn’t from his master, but from the girl whom he had a quarrel with yesterday.
[Hey Kairen]

[I am sorry]
Ding
[It was not my fault! But I am still apologizing because I have such a soft heart and a kind soul]
Ding
[I didn’t say anything bad in the first place! You were just mad and I became the poor victim! Just bad timing!]
Ding Ding Ding Ding
[Nah! Why am I even apologizing to you? You should be the one doing it!]
[Screw kind heart I’m mad at you! You should come to apologize to me!]
[Forget it! I never apologized to you! I never texted you either!]
[I was forced to do it by Reyan!]
[Don’t talk to me ever again]
“.....”
Kairen stared at the messages with a blank face before putting the phone back into his pocket.
‘Maybe I should start worrying about her mental health as well...’
But really, the atmosphere between the three of them was awkward and it was making Kairen feel uncomfortable at work, especially now that some of the unit members’ gazes has changed while looking at him.
‘Maybe I should talk to them... later...’
. . . . .
The grand library of the Special Military Forces. The biggest collection of books and documents in the country. A place you could find almost everything you wanted.
“....”
Kairen stood inside that place and looked around with his mouth wide open.
“This place is too huge...”
He was allowed access to most parts of the library after his permission was checked and confirmed by the employee. While looking at the guide given to him, he headed towards the section of the book related to 3000 years ago.
The library had five floors on the ground and two underground. You couldn’t get to read the books on some of the floors even if you had a permit and you had to fulfill some special requirements to read some books.
Still, the place was so big that Kairen got lost three times while he was looking for the section he wanted.
Now standing in front of a huge bookshelf, he regretted his decision in coming to this place.
‘2523 religion-related books?’
And it was only for the time period of 3000-2500 years ago.
“.....”
‘They want to kill me... All these SMF people... I hate my life...’
