Little Tyrant Doesn't Want to Meet with a Bad End
Chapter 645.1: Sovereign Meets Sovereign (1)Edavia had once told Roel that the inception of order was chaos.
The difficulties Sia had encountered when She first created the world were far greater than what was described in any of the legends. Anyone drawing on a blank sheet of paper for the first time was bound to make errors, and Sia was no exception to that rule.
During the creation of the world, Sia had created many flawed existences, and some of them were a headache for even Her to deal with.
One of them was the Spiriteers.
Sia couldn’t bear to eliminate the Spiriteers in view that they possessed sentience and feelings, and Her personal ties with Edavia played a part too.
However, there were other dangerous existences that She was forced to seal away.
On the plains, Roel listened to Edavia’s explanation with widened eyes. He looked at the ominous shadow in front of him and asked, “Why did she choose to seal them away instead of eliminating them?”
“She would have eliminated them, but she can’t.”
“Why?” Roel frowned.
“Even Sia Herself struggled to deal with some of the mistakes She had made at the very start. One of them was the original model of the Giants—the Titans.”
“Hm?” Grandar’s interest was piqued when he heard Edavia mention his race.
In the crimson plain, he raised his head to look at the ominous shadow standing before Roel, and his eyes narrowed.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtMeanwhile, Edavia continued her explanation. “Unlike the Giants, the Titans refuse to adopt Origin Attributes, preferring to grow via devouring other beings instead. They are extremely aggressive, making them a terrifying threat even when compared to the other monsters. Due to that, they are one of the first few races that Sia exiled.”
“Is it even possible to exile such an existence?” Roel asked.
“That depends on where you exile them. Sia exiled them to the cracks of the world, the Abyss… You have been there too.”
“!” Roel was taken aback.
Back in the Witness State, after the Savior’s body was destroyed, Edavia banished His soul to a bizarre place that didn’t exist in the world. Roel didn’t question it much, but he had a strong impression of that distorted, ominous place.
The fact that the Titans were imprisoned in the same place as the Savior hinted at how powerful they were, but this raised another question in Roel’s mind.
“If Sia has already banished them, how did Carolyn contract with one?” Roel asked as he continued releasing all kinds of attacks.
“That’s a Fiend Titan. To escape from the Abyss, they abandoned their bodies to cast their shadows on the world. They are malevolent existences worse than the demonic beasts. Sia had personally destroyed them,” Edavia quickly explained.
“It’s possible to contract something like that too?”
“It should be impossible, but the Titans share similar traits with the Giants, in the sense that they respect and obey the strong. It’s the same for the Fiend Titans. That woman is probably too strong, which is why…”
“…”
Roel’s expression turned grim.
So many books had been burned over the past few centuries that he knew very little about Carolyn Ascart, the first matriarch of the Ascart House. He had found a few members of the Twilight Sages Assembly along the way, but they, too, knew very little about Carolyn.
He did hear Astrid Arde praise Carolyn’s strength highly back in the Witness State, but he didn’t think she was so powerful that even the evil gods from the ancient era submitted to her.
Looking at the woman who stood unfazed by the bombardment of frost aura and lava, Roel felt immense pressure. He was forced to consider bringing out Grandar, his greatest trump card, to deal with the Fiend Titan, but before he could make up his mind, he suddenly heard a voice.
“Lord Brother, have you forgotten about me?” Alicia said.
“Hm?”
Roel turned around and saw Alicia smiling at him. She had successfully amassed a massive amount of mana. Seeing that, he heaved a sigh of relief.
“You have done enough, Lord Brother. Leave the rest to me,” Alicia said as she turned to face Carolyn.
She raised her hand, and the ethereal lights she had been channeling suddenly expanded to form a brand-new world.
“Divine Domain.”
…
Divine Domain was a type of spell used by the gods in the ancient era, but its strength differed from individual to individual. There were even seemingly useless Divine Domains, such as the one belonging to the Death God who attempted to assassinate Roel in the Witness State.
Divine Domains didn’t have the power to change reality.
Be it Deviant Sovereign Banjol’s Divine Domain or Carolyn’s, they could only weaken enemies within the range of their Divine Domain. They weren’t truly changing anything in the real world.
However, Alicia’s Divine Domain went beyond the scope of ordinary Divine Domains, in the sense that she was practically dragging others into the miniature world she had created, turning that into their reality.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmRoel had witnessed something similar before, namely the fight between the Savior and the Mother Goddess in the ancient era. Alicia’s Divine Domain was extraordinarily powerful because she had inherited it from the Mother Goddess.
This was one of the things Roel and Alicia had discussed prior to the battle.
Their chances of defeating someone as powerful as Carolyn in a direct confrontation were extremely slim. Thus, their battle plan was for Roel to stall her, while Alicia focused on releasing her Divine Domain.
It was going to be much tougher on Alicia this time around, as her goal was not just to remove the negative effects of Carolyn’s Divine Domain but to drag her into their home turf.
That was the reason Alicia hadn’t participated in the battle thus far.
“Divine Domain.”
A blinding flash of light enveloped the surroundings.
Carolyn immediately retaliated by narrowing the area of her Divine Domain. That immensely concentrated the pressure on Alicia, slowing down the activation of her Divine Domain.
What she didn’t know was that Alicia hadn’t gone all out yet.
The two powers stalled for a few seconds, until Alicia’s crimson eyes suddenly glowed brightly. Then, the moonlight from the sky intensified to the point it looked corporeal, and it converged on Carolyn’s Divine Domain.
“!”
Carolyn was startled by the unexpected assault.
Under the concentrated moonlight, Carolyn’s Divine Domain only lasted an instant before it started to collapse. Carolyn hurriedly attempted to mend her Divine Domain, but it was too late. This brief opening allowed the ethereal lights coming from Alicia’s body to quickly expand and envelop Carolyn.
When the blinding light vanished and Roel opened his eyes again, he was already standing above a vast ocean. Alicia was floating in the sky, her hair fluttering imposingly like a god from the ancient era.
