Chapter 103
The rock that Wilbur was pointing to was just for decor. The crowd wondered what was going on in his
mind, trying to buy something like that. How could a rock like that be worth anything at all?
Even the shop owner was confused. “Young man, this is just a decor item. It’s not a rock to bet on. You
must be mistaken.”
Wilbur said. “Yes, but you sell rocks, don’t you? This is a rock right here, so give me a price.”

“Uhm… The shop owner was a little conflicted. He had never experienced anything like this before and
was at a loss for how to respond.
Kenji smiled all of a sudden. “What’s this? Are you telling me that a rock like this could have a piece of
jade in it, buddy?”
“And what if it does Wilbur replied with a smile.
The crowd shook their heads. Wilbur was truly getting out of hand here.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtIf any random rock could have a piece of jade in it, the rocks in the rivers would be all gone
Kenji chuckled as he looked at Wilbur “You seem pretty confident. Why don’t we make a bet?‘
“ol? What’s the bet?” Wilbur asked.
“We’ll keep it low. How about one million dollars? Kenji replied
The crowd gasped. Of course a rich guy like Kenji would think that was a low amount.
Everyone locked at Wilbur, curious to see how he would respond.
Wilbur frowned. “Can you tell me what we are betting on exactly?”
Kenji grinned. “If this rock here holds any trace of jade at all, I’ll lose. How’s that?”
“Oh, sure. You’re on. Wilbur accepted with a smile.
Kenji turned to the shop owner at once. “How much for this rock? Cut it open right now.”
The shop owner was a little nervous. These two men were obviously competing, now, especially Kenji.
He had a smile on his face, but anyone could tell he was seething with rage.
That was because he had not just made a loss earlier, but he had lost his reputation too. He was
clearly desperate to get back at
Wilbur.
As for Wilbur, he was probably just crazy to take up a bet like that.
The shop owner chose to play dumb, not wanting to offend anyone.
He smiled and said, “Well, this rock was just supposed to be decor anyway. How about I give it to you
two as a gift? Don’t worry about payment!”
The crowd silently approved of the shop owner’s wisdom.
Kenji smirked. “Thanks for that. Cut it open.”
The shop owner called out, and a few of his staff members got to work
This time, no une went over to Inok Everyone knew that there was no way there would be jule in the
rock.
They wanted to see just how this guy was going to coughs up a million dollars.
The shop owner was starting to feel pity on Wilbur’s behalf. He had gotten mis Kroji’s bad side, and

Kenji would get his reputation back, and more than cover the loss he had just made. It was truly a win–
win for him.
Chapter 103
Just then, the cutting machine launched into action as the decoration rock by the pond was cut open.
Wilbur sipped at his tea leisurely, not panicking in the slightest.
Kenji smirked to himself, chatting with the girls next to him
The crowd shook their heads as they glanced at Wilbur “What a silly guy,‘ they thought.
He had just been in a bidding war against Kenji, and now the two of them were betting against each
other for a million dollars over a rock Wilbur had spotted by the fake pond.
A minute or two later, the staff member operating the cutting machine let out a cry
“I see green!”
The crowd was shocked.
Some of them could hardly believe their ears, freezing on the spot for a long time.
