Chapter 497

Finn loved Lilia, who was his childhood sweetheart, a lot. He doted on her all the time about almost everything.

Even though the two of them lived in two different countries, Lilia found a sense of security in Finn since he never

lied to her.

The only thing he lied about was his illness.

Hearing Brandon mention that there was something Lilia wasn’t supposed to know, Finn knew Brandon was gonna

say something serious.

Finn thought, there is no way Lilia could find out I am seriously ill.

At the thought of this, Finn hurried to change his tone, trying to persuade Lilia into leaving. “Lilia, Gerald will take

you to the car now. I bought you coffee and cake there. Now I need to chat with Mr. Cassel a bit. See you in a bit.”

Lilia was unwilling to do so and said angrily, “What are you guys up to? What is it that I am not supposed to know?

Finn, haven’t you promised me that you won’t keep a secret from me?”

“Lilia, do as I say. I’ll explain myself later. This is something between Mr. Cassel and me, which I promised him to

keep to myself. You don’t want me to break my promise, right?”

Finn was patient and sweetly persuaded Lilia.

Fortunately, Lilia nodded in agreement at last while snorting angrily, “Alright. Then I’ll wait for you in the car. But

you have to explain everything to me later. Otherwise, I will break up with you!”

“I know, my dear. And don’t break up with me. You know that I love you the most.” Finn reached out and stroked

Lilia’s head.

“Ms. Parsons, this way.” Gerald hurried to lead the way.

Lilia snorted again while throwing her suitcase to her bodyguard before walking in front, panting with rage.

Soon, Lilia began to ask Gerald, “Since you are with Finn every day, please tell me what is with that man. Are they

biological brothers?”

Gerald replied, “The doctors did tell us that the man is related to Finn.”

“Then why didn’t Finn tell me about it? I mean, that’s a big deal.” Lilia became upset. “Gerald, do you know what

else he is keeping to himself?”

Of course, Gerald knew what Finn was holding back. But as Finn’s confidant, there was no way Gerald would tell Lilia

or anyone else.

Therefore, Gerald had to play dumb. “Ms. Parsons, don’t worry. Finn loves you a lot, and he will never lie to you.”

“Hmph. I didn’t buy it. Since he is your boss, you have every reason not to tell me the truth!”

The more she thought about it, the angrier she got. And then she slammed the door after storming into the car.

Meanwhile, the two identical men started chatting away after they found a place where they could smoke.

Brandon looked down at Finn’s legs. “You used to sit in a wheelchair. Therefore, it struck me as odd when I saw you

walk like this.”

Finn stretched his ankle a bit. “It’s true that I have a weak constitution due to illness. But I’m not a cripple, which

means I can walk.”

Brandon smiled mockingly, “Finally, you admit that you are sick now. I wonder why didn’t you dare to say the same

thing to your little girlfriend. Why did you lie to her?”

Finn narrowed his eyes as if Brandon had offended him, which gave him much displeasure.

“Mr. Cassel, can I say that it’s none of your business?”

“How is it that it’s none of my business? You bantered with Savanna every day. Finally, I found your soft spot as

well.” There was a hint of menace in Brandon’s voice. “How about I banter with your girl as well?”

“How dare you!” Finn gritted his teeth angrily. “If you dare to tell Lilia anything about my illness, I don’t mind

bringing you two along when I die!”

“You’re bluffing. You won’t die with us. I mean, now that your girlfriend is back, all you want is to stay with her, am I

right?”

Brandon, smart as he always was, saw through Finn effortlessly.

Judging from how Finn treated Lilia just now alone, Brandon was sure that Finn would never want to die like this.

The way Finn looked at Lilia in deep affection was a very typical public display of affection.

“Mind your own business. And don’t think you know me.” Finn glared at Brandon fiercely. “Also, if you dare to leak

any information to Lilia, I will make you and your family suffer a lot!”

“The truth will be out eventually. I suggest that you tell her. I mean, she’s back now and will be around all the time.

Eventually, she will notice something is off with you.”

“Again, mind your own business. It’s very hypocritical of you to try to talk me out of it. Finn clenched his fists as he

felt a surge of anger, his pale face reddening.

“Of course, I have no right to meddle with your personal life. But I expect you to do the same and leave Savanna

and me alone. Or I will make sure you and I both suffer a lot.”

With that, Brandon left right off.

Meanwhile, outside the airport, Lilia was sitting in the spacious back seat of the Aston Martin. With the window

rolled down, she leaned against the window while waiting in boredom.

“Finn!” Seeing Finn walking out of the door, Lilia waved her arms in excitement.

However, the man in the black suit did not pay any attention to Lilia. Instead, he walked over to a black Ferrari

without a sideward glance.

Only then did Lilia realize that he was Brandon, not Finn.

Lilia pouted angrily and thought, it’s not my fault that you guys are identical.

Soon, Finn came out as well.

Unlike Brandon, Finn walked with a lighter and slower gait. Coming out of the airport, with the sun shining on his

face, Finn looked extremely pale.

Lilia felt a sense of panic all at once as if what she saw was not Finn, but a projection of a dead person.

“Lilia, sorry to keep you waiting.” Finn got to the car soon.

He was not in a hurry to get in. Instead, he stood next to the car, bent forward slightly, and lowered his head to talk

to Lilia.

“You’ll break my heart if you don’t feel sorry. I mean, I came all the way here just to see you, and yet you asked me

to wait for such a long time out here.”

Lilia said angrily.

“Baby, I am so sorry. I’ll buy you dinner and make it up for you, okay?” Finn leaned his head closer and spoke in a

tone as if he was talking with a child.

Lilia turned to look at him. The two were very close.

Lilia then reached out her hand and stroked Finn’s cheek. “Finn, have you been skipping your meals? Why have you

become so thin with all these dark circles beneath your eyes? You know health always comes before money, right?”

Sure enough, one could tell whether a person was sick or not simply from a person’s complexion.

Right now, Finn only wished that he could keep it a secret for a bit longer, even if it was just one more day.

“I still want to marry you, remember? Why would I give up my life just like this?”
