372 He Really Liked Her
Zhang Yi Hai was aware that his feeling was a little complicated after he dropped off Fang Su Jin at her house.
The snippets of their interaction appeared in his mind a few times. Zhang Yi Hai would remember their closeness while Fang Su Jin was recording his sister’s proposal from a distance. Fang Su Jin had her attention on her phone screen, while he was stealing a few glances at her.
But what he could not get off his mind was how close they were as he tried to stop her from falling at the mall today. His hand was around her waist and their face was inches away.
His heartbeat accelerated and his body grew hotter.
If one of them were leaning forward, their lips would meet.
His mind was messing up with him and Zhang Yi Hai could not help but wonder how it would feel to kiss her jelly-like lips.
Her skin was so moist and tender. He wondered if he could squeeze out some water if he pinched her cheek. After all, Fang Su Jin could cry easily and he often wondered if she was made of water.
However, seeing the face that almost seemed as if she was about to cry, snapped him out of his thought. Zhang Yi Hai was afraid that a certain someone would be crying again if he started to bully her.
He could only act as a gentleman and let her go.
.....
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtZhang Yi Hai was aware that his thought was too inappropriate. Fang Su Jin was his sister’s best friend and he should not be having such thoughts about her.
But, Zhang Yi Hai did not know just how he could stop thinking about her.
It seemed that the more he tried to forget a certain scene, the more he could not stop thinking about it.
Perhaps, it was because of her that Zhang Yi Hai did not participate that much during the discussion about his sister’s marriage.
When he got back, Zhang Yi Hai was still unable to stop thinking about a certain someone.
He decided to grab the ball and sweat out on the basketball court, hoping that it would help him to think properly.
Unfortunately, no matter how much he had been reasoning that he should not be falling for his sister’s friend, it was not working. The more he thought about it, the more that Zhang Yi Hai realized that he liked Fang Su Jin.
In the beginning, he has been keeping his eyes on her as he was always worried. Perhaps, it began on that day when he heard that Fang Su Jin was crying after she broke up with her boyfriend.
Later, he often ran into Fang Su Jin with her eyes reddened with tears.
Starting then, Zhang Yi Hai often had his eyes on her.
The initial concern about her had turned into something else.
Zhang Yi Hai ran around the basketball court for a few more minutes. Then, after performing another slam dunk, he then stood at the center of the court, panting.
He had hoped that tiring himself out would help him shrug off some things in mind, but it seemed that it was not working.
What should he do?
He really liked her, didn’t he?
Zhang Yi Hai chuckled as the thought came to his mind. He wondered if Fang Su Jin would be disgusted if she found out about his feelings. Perhaps, Fang Su Jin only viewed him as a little brother and nothing else.
His face drooped.
Zhang Yi Hai closed his eyes to organize his thought for a little bit. Then, he picked up the basketball again and headed to the house.
As soon as he stepped in, Zhang Yi Hai was surprised to find that his sister was sitting beside the window in her wheelchair.
Zhang Yi Hai quickly calmed down and spoke, “Sister, why are you here? It’s getting late. Why are you not asleep?”
“Then, what about you?” Zhang Li Xue smiled. “It’s already late. Why are you still practicing basketball at this time?”
Zhang Yi Hai touched the tip of his nose. “I couldn’t sleep. I thought of tiring myself out would help me to sleep better.”
“Something on your mind?”
“Mmm... Something like that.”

Zhang Yi Hai stiffened for a second. Fortunately, it was dark and his sister did not notice his change.
Zhang Li Xue tilted her head to one side as she stared at him for a long time. “Zhang Yi Hai, it couldn’t be that you are upset because I am going to marry Bai Qi, right?”
Zhang Yi Hai stared at his sister in disbelief. “Sister, what are you saying? Why would I be upset?”
Her shoulder rose into a shrug. “After all, you have been awfully quiet during dinner just now.”
“Everyone wanted to say their thought about your marriage. Do you think that I could find a chance to say a word?” Zhang Yi Hai laughed. “Besides, if I am upset, would I still be helping Brother Bai Qi to propose to you?”
Zhang Li Xue thought about this and nodded. “That’s true. You are now willing to call him your brother-in-law.”
His expression turned slightly dark as he was reminded of how he had said those words at the park today. Zhang Yi Hai felt very awkward afterward.
“Don’t think too much. I was thinking about the workload I have to face after I returned to the campus this weekend.”
Zhang Li Xue thought that his explanation made sense and decided not to probe into it. He was in his final year and has been busy with a lot of assignments.
“Have you and Brother Bai Qi made up your mind about grandfather’s request?” Zhang Yi Hai asked, hoping that his sister would stop thinking about him.
A faint smile appeared on her face. “Mhm... Dad said we should get a certificate before our grandparents returned to C Country in a few days.”
Zhang Yi Hai saw the happy look on his sister’s face and could not help but smile. “Sister, I hope that you would be happy with Brother Bai Qi.”
